Electrically actuated variable pressure control system
An electrically-actuated variable pressure control system for use with flow-controlled liquid application systems. Direct acting solenoid valves are pulsed at varying frequencies and duty cycles0000change the resistance to flow encountered by the flow-controlled liquid application system. This pulsing solenoid valve technique preserves a high degree of accuracy and uniformity through a wide range of pressure control. This wide range of pressure control indirectly allows the flow-controlled liquid application system to operate over a wider range of flow control, yielding indirect benefits to performance and productivity. When the solenoid valves are attached to pressure-atomization spray nozzles, control over spray pattern and droplet size is further achieved.

A system for regulating the power supply of the electric, motor incorporated in an airless paint spray unit so as to enhance the efficiency and performance of the airless paint spray unit. The system includes the utilization in the rector control for the electric motor driving the pump of the airless paint spray unit of an active Power Factor Correction (PFC) switching power supply adapted to regulate the electrical power supplied to the motor.
SYSTEM FOR SPRAYING PLANTS AND/OR PLANT PRECURSORS
Various embodiments of a system for automatically sensing and spraying plants and/or plant precursors as they are planted or otherwise distributed on and/or within the ground is disclosed.
FLUID SPRAYER WITH BATTERY POWER
A battery powered fluid sprayer includes a reciprocating positive displacement pump, a power supply that includes a battery, an electric motor, a motor controller, a user-adjustment mechanism for setting a user-adjustable pressure threshold corresponding to system fluid pressure of the battery powered fluid sprayer, a pressure switch, and a power controller. The pressure switch generates a pressure signal indicative of whether the system fluid pressure is greater than the user-adjustable pressure threshold. The power controller is configured to control power of the battery powered fluid sprayer by providing operating power of the motor controller in response to the pressure signal indicating that the system fluid pressure is less than the user-adjustable pressure threshold, and not providing the operating power of the motor controller in response to the pressure signal indicating that the system fluid pressure is greater than the user-adjustable pressure threshold.
BATTERY POWERED FLUID SPRAYER
A battery powered fluid sprayer includes a battery mounted to a vertically extending wall of the fluid sprayer. The battery powers an electric motor to power a pump to pump fluid to a spray gun for spraying. The battery is disposed within a battery chamber enclosed by a door. The battery is suspended above a base of the battery chamber to isolate battery from any fluid that may enter the chamber.
ON-DEMAND HIGH VOLUME, LOW PRESSURE SPRAY SYSTEM
Various embodiments concern a sprayer having a blower that outputs a HVLP flow of air into a hose, the hose connecting with a spray gun. A pressure sensor measures pressure of the HVLP air within the hose via a tube that branches from a fitting to which the hose connects. If the sensor indicates that the pressure level has increased above a threshold amount, indicating that the trigger of the spray gun is not being actuated, then power output to the blower is reduced (e.g., stopped). HVLP air is trapped within the hose by two valves when the trigger is not actuated. When the sensor indicates that the pressure level has decreased, corresponding to release of the trapped HVLP air into the gun for spraying by actuation of the trigger, power to the blower is increased (e.g., resumed).
Portable spray device
The present invention relates to a portable spraying device (1) for discharging a fluid, in particular an agricultural formulation, having a container (2) for holding the fluid, a pump (15), which is in fluid connection with the container (2), for pumping the fluid out of the container (2), a spray gun (21), which comprises a spray opening (27) and an electrically controllable application valve (20) for opening and closing a passage to the spray opening (27), an application line (17), which establishes a fluid connection between the pump (15) and the spray gun (21). The spraying device (1) according to the invention is distinguished by a pressure sensor (19), which is arranged in the application line (17), for detecting the fluid pressure in the application line (17), and an electric control device (28), which is coupled to the application valve (20) and the pressure sensor (19) in terms of data transmission, by means of which device an electric control signal for opening the application valve (20) for a certain predetermined time interval and for closing the application valve (20) on expiry of the time interval can be produced in accordance with the fluid pressure detected by means of the pressure sensor (19), with the result that a defined volume of the fluid is discharged via the spray opening (27).
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING A LEVEL OF HYDRAULIC FLUID IN AN AGRICULTURAL SPRAYER
In one aspect, a system for monitoring a level of hydraulic fluid in an agricultural sprayer includes a drive system, a hydraulic fluid system, and a fill level sensor. The system also includes a computing system communicatively coupled to both the drive system and the fill level sensor. The computing system is configured to monitor the level of hydraulic fluid within the hydraulic fluid reservoir based on data received from the fill level sensor. The computing system is further configured to detect a leak condition in the hydraulic fluid system based at least in part on the monitored level of the hydraulic fluid within the hydraulic fluid reservoir and control an operation of the drive system to reduce the ground speed of the agricultural sprayer in response to detecting the leak condition.
Method for coating a five-sided container with sag-resistant water-based coating compositions
The present invention provides a water-based coating and/or coating system used to form sag resistant wet layers or coatings on a wide range of substrates. The coating system is effective for protecting metal-containing substrates, such as intermodal cargo containers, against corrosion. As an overview, the present invention provides water-based compositions as primer coats on substrates, and methods for applying the same to substrates. The method includes steps of applying a water-based paint to the interior surfaces of a substrate and drying the substrate by continuously forcing heated air onto the substrate as it moves through a drying chamber. Desirably, the primer incorporates a high level of one or more CAS agents for excellent sag resistance while drying in a broad range of relative humidity environments. Alternatively, modifications can be made to control temperature and humidity during spray application and drying as a way to increase sag resistance of the coating.
