Storage and mixing systems and methods for pasty multicomponent polymethylmethacrylate bone cements, the systems and methods comprise a first tubular cartridge with a first cylindrical internal space containing a first starting component, a first dispensing plunger, a second tubular cartridge that is arranged within the first tubular cartridge. The external wall of the second cartridge touches against the internal wall of the first cartridge and is attached to the internal wall of the first cartridge, whereby the second cartridge contains a second starting component and has a second dispensing plunger arranged in it, whereby a pressing device with a clamping edge for compressing the second cartridge that can be propelled axially in the internal space of the first cartridge is arranged, as seen from the cartridge head, behind the first dispensing plunger and the second dispensing plunger. The pressing device can be propelled appropriately in the direction of the cartridge head such that the second cartridge is being progressively compressed axially during the motion of the pressing device such that, in the process, the first dispensing plunger and the second dispensing plunger are propelled in the direction of the cartridge head.

A system for dispensing material contained in a collapsible package from a dispensing device. The system includes a piercing nozzle attachable to a dispensing end of the dispensing device, and a plunger attachable to a plunger rod of the dispensing device configured to compress the package against the piercing nozzle. The piercing nozzle includes a nozzle sidewall and a nozzle end wall defining an internal nozzle cavity configured to receive a first end of the package. One or more recessed members extend into the internal nozzle cavity in part from a recessed member. The piercing projection pierce the package when compressed thereagainst, allowing the material in the package to be dispensed through a nozzle opening. An internal nozzle rib can extend across a nozzle opening defined through the nozzle end wall.

An extensible adhesive dispensing gun system. A syringe has a piston for urging an adhesive out of a nozzle, and a first mount at a back end of the syringe. A gun body contains a mechanism for advancing a plunger from a front end of the body in response to a trigger, and a second mount is disposed on the front end. An extension tube assembly includes an outer tube having near and far end adapters. A third mount on the near end adapter engages the second mount on the gun body, and a fourth mount on the far end adapter engages the first mount on the syringe. An inner rod member is arranged inside the outer tube. When the gun plunger is urged against a back end of the rod member, a leading end of the member forces the syringe piston to urge the adhesive out of the nozzle.

Container for storing and dispensing a liquid

A container for storing and dispensing a liquid has a generally cup-shaped receptacle formed by a circumferential side wall and a front wall. A piston is slidably accommodated within the receptacle. The receptacle and the piston in combination form a chamber in which the liquid is received. The piston forms a sealing structure bearing on an inner surface of the side wall. The inner surface of the side wall has an arithmetic average surface roughness of between 0.05 m and 4.5 m R?a.#191 The container allows for air to penetrate in the chamber while it provides for the liquid to be captured therein.

DISPENSER AND A METHOD OF DISPENSING A PASTY MATERIAL
20180338816 · 2018-11-29 ·

A dispenser for a pasty material has a container, a cover and a handle. The dispenser is operable by twisting the cover and the handle relative to each other in a dispensing direction for dispensing material and, alternatively, in an opposite closing direction. The container having an outlet for the material and the cover having a dispensing opening. The container and the cover are arranged relative to each other for a rotation between a closed position, in which the cover closes the outlet, and an open position, in which the dispensing opening opens the outlet. A first engagement mechanism is provided for enabling the container and the handle to engage with each other in at least one angular position during twisting in the closing direction. The first engagement mechanism further forming a freewheel mechanism with respect to a rotation in the dispensing direction. The first engagement mechanism has a first snap-stop for providing the engagement between the handle and the container and for impeded disengagement when engaged. A second engagement mechanism is provided for enabling the rotation of the container and the cover in an angular range between the closed position and the open position and restricting a rotation outside that range. The second engagement mechanism has a second snap-stop for providing the restriction between the container and the cover with respect to a twisting toward the dispensing direction and providing for an impeded disengagement when engaged in the open position. The first snap-stop provides for an impeding force to be overcome for disengagement and the second snap-stop provides for a snap-in force to be overcome for engagement. The first and second snap-stop are configured such that the impeding force is greater than the snap-in force.

METHOD FOR FILLING A CARTRIDGE WITH A FLOWABLE COMPONENT
20180304299 · 2018-10-25 ·

The invention relates to a method for filling a cartridge with a flowable component, the method comprising the steps of: providing a cartridge with a cartridge chamber, the cartridge having a piston arranged in the cartridge chamber, the cartridge chamber and the piston defining a storage volume, the piston having a through-hole, arranging a filling nozzle at the through-hole and filling the cartridge by dispensing the flowable component through the through-hole of the piston into the storage volume.

The invention further relates to a system suitable for executing the method.

CARTRIDGE FOR VISCOUS-MATERIAL DISPENSER

A cartridge for a viscous-material dispenser includes a cylinder and a plunger axially slidably fitted in the cylinder and dividing the cylinder into a filling chamber and a pressurizing chamber and includes a plurality of solid spacers in an annular gap between the plunger and the cylinder for maintaining a minimum spacing between the plunger and the cylinder. The spacers at least partially define a plurality of passages that fluidically connect the filling and pressurizing chambers and are configured such that a first portion of the viscous material extending from the filling chamber into the plurality of passages forms a seal together with the solid spacers to prevent a second portion of the viscous material located in the filling chamber from entering the plurality of passages.
