Coating Apparatus
Provided is a coating apparatus that allows high-quality coating by causing a coated object to pass through a falling curtain of paint without vibrating the coated object. A coating apparatus 1, which coats a surface of a plate-shaped coated object M, includes: a table 10, on which the coated object M is disposed; a flow coater head 20, from which a curtain of paint P falls; a gutter-shaped liquid receiver 30, which is disposed below the flow coater head 20 and which collects the paint P falling from the flow coater head 20; and a horizontal conveying portion 41, which conveys the table 10, on which the coated object M is disposed, in a horizontal direction to pass through the paint P falling from the flow coater head 20.
LAMINATE, SURFACE-PROTECTED ARTICLE, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING LAMINATE
The invention of the present application is a laminate in which thermoplastic polyurethane is used, excellent antifouling and adhesion properties are obtained, and glue residue is minimized. The laminate is provided with a substrate film formed from thermoplastic polyurethane, and an adhesive layer formed on one surface side of the substrate film. The substrate film has a surface layer on the opposite side of the first surface, a mixture of the thermoplastic polyurethane and a curable resin composition being present in the surface layer. The content ratio of the curable resin composition is configured so as to gradually decrease from the surface of the surface layer towards the interior of the substrate film. The curable resin composition contains at least one fluorine compound selected from the group consisting of fluorosilsesquioxane and fluorosilsesquioxane polymers, and a curable resin. The adhesive layer has a surface roughness of 350-750 nm.
Composition including silicon-containing compounds
Compositions including first and second silicon-containing compounds are described. The first silicon-containing compound includes a polyvalent transition metal having bonded thereto a hydrocarbyloxy group(s) and/or a (di-hydrocarbyl)(perfluoro/fluorinated-hydrocarbyl)silyloxy group(s), which is represented by Formula (I). The second silicon-containing compound includes a reaction product of a first reactant represented by Formula (II-A), which includes hyrdrocarbylsilyloxy groups, and a second reactant represented by Formula (II-B), which includes a perfluorohydrocarbyloxy group(s). The present invention also relates to, articles that include one or more layers formed from such compositions, methods of treating articles by applying thereover such compositions, and the second silicon-containing compound.
Display inserts, overlays, and graphical user interfaces for multimedia systems
A disclosed digital media device operational at user premises to receive media signals from a media source for presentation via endpoint devices such as a television display. The digital media device can include gateway and digital media management functionality and can be referred to as a gateway and digital media device. The device offers application services obtained over a wide area network and a user premises network. The digital media device may form a composite signal from the media signal and application service information, for example, for a composite audio and/or video signal for television type presentation to the user. The digital media device may receive a selection signal based on the presentation, for transmission to the application service provider device or to the media source. The media device also offers a GUI presenting a moveable arrangement of icons for selectively accessing application services.
HARDCOAT FILM, POLARIZING PLATE, LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HARDCOAT FILM
A hardcoat film including a support and a hardcoat layer, in which the support contains a resin as a main component, a film thickness of the hardcoat layer exceeds 20 μm, the hardcoat layer contains a structure derived from a compound which has one alicyclic epoxy group and one ethylenically unsaturated double bond group and has a molecular weight equal to or less than 300, and a structure derived from a compound which has 3 or more ethylenically unsaturated double bond groups, a radical polymerization initiator and a cationic polymerization initiator.
PLATED STEEL PLATE HAVING EXCELLENT GLOSSINESS AND SURFACE PROPERTY, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
Provided is a plated steel plate used for interior materials and exterior materials such as home appliances, construction materials, vehicles, etc., and a method for manufacturing same. The plated sheet plate includes: base steel; a Zn—Mg plating layer formed on the base steel; and a UV-curable film layer formed on the Zn—Mg plating layer, wherein a hairline pattern is formed on a surface of the Zn—Mg plating layer, and the Zn—Mg plating layer includes 8 to 27 weight % of Mg and a balance of Zn and inevitable impurities.
Thermal Spray Metal Coating for Coiled Sucker Rods
The present disclosure relates to a method for coating a coiled sucker rod, the method comprising: (a) transferring the coiled sucker rod from a first reel to a thermal spray metal gun system with a conveyance system; and (b) applying a thermal spray metal coating on the coiled sucker rod with a thermal spray metal gun system to form a thermal spray metal coated coiled sucker rod.
Methods for curtain coating substrates
Methods of curtain coating substrates are disclosed. In some embodiments, the methods include applying two or more liquid layers simultaneously to a substrate, wherein the multiple layers include a bottom liquid layer comprising a shear thinning liquid, and another liquid layer comprising a viscoelastic liquid. In some embodiments, the disclosed methods include formulating a bottom layer liquid comprising a shear thinning liquid, formulating another layer liquid comprising a viscoelastic liquid, pumping the bottom layer liquid and the other layer liquid through coating dies simultaneously and onto a moving substrate such that the bottom layer liquid impinges on the substrate thereby forming a bottom layer, and the other layer liquid forms another liquid layer above the bottom liquid layer. The inclusion of a bottom liquid layer comprising a shear thinning liquid and other layer comprising a viscoelastic liquid provides for enlargement of the curtain coating window.
