BODYWORK PART COMPRISING A BACKLIT ZONE
It is provided a bodywork part made of painted plastic material consisting of a single plastic material, and in one piece, comprising a first zone having a first thickness and a second zone having a second thickness, the first thickness being greater than the second thickness so that the second zone has a higher transmittance than that of the first zone.
METHOD OF MAKING A MONOLITHIC MULTI-TONE AUDIO SPEAKER COVER AND PRODUCT MADE THEREBY
A method of making a monolithic multi-tone audio speaker cover and the product made thereby. The method involves creating a hole pattern in a blank; providing a ditch inside a periphery of the blank; forming a shape in the blank to make a shaped blank; treating or painting at least some of the surface of the shaped blank with a primary treatment or color to prepare a treated or painted shaped blank; masking an area of the treated or painted shaped blank with a masking material along a portion of the ditch to cover at least a portion of the treated or painted shaped blank; and applying a secondary color to the unprotected area. The audio speaker cover made thereby has a distinct unwavering separation between the respective treated areas that is visually pleasing.
CONTOURED BONDCOAT FOR ENVIRONMENTAL BARRIER COATINGS AND METHODS FOR MAKING CONTOURED BONDCOATS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL BARRIER COATINGS
A method of protecting a gas turbine component for operation in a high temperature environment that includes the gas turbine component including a substrate having a silicon-containing layer, wherein the gas turbine component has a curved surface; forming a flexible mask configured to cover the curved surface of the gas turbine component, the flexible mask including a plurality of slots disposed in a pattern; disposing the flexible mask in direct contact with the curved surface of the gas turbine component; applying a bondcoat onto the flexible mask and the gas turbine component, such that bondcoat fills the plurality of slots and contacts the curved surface; and removing the flexible mask by heat or chemical reaction, such that, after removing the flexible mask, the curved surface of the gas turbine component comprises a patterned bondcoat layer in the pattern defined by the flexible mask.
Method for decorating a mechanical part
A method for decorating the surface of a mechanical part including structuring, on the surface to be decorated, a masking layer having a thickness that is at least equal to the thickness of the decoration element to be produced; making, in the masking layer, at least one opening that coincides with the location on the surface to be decorated where the decoration element is to be produced, the opening having a contour that is identical to the contour of the decoration element and defining a volume with the mechanical part; filling the volume delimited by the masking layer and the surface to be decorated of with a filling material wherein the decoration elements are sought to be produced; and removing the masking layer.
PAINTING METHOD WITH PRINTED MASK AND PRINTING DEVICE
To improve the complicated painting process of large three-dimensionally shaped components, preferably aircraft components, the masking step is automated. This is achieved by printing a masking medium onto the component with an inkjet method, the masking medium forming a masking film The masking film masks the desired surface area and can be pulled off following the end of the painting. Preferably, spray films, functional printing inks or mold release agents are used as the masking medium.
Nanostructured Bactericidal Polymer Foil
Nanostructured thin films and methods of their manufacture are disclosed. An example method of manufacturing includes forming a colloidal crystal mask on a template substrate so as to partially mask the template substrate. The method additionally includes etching the exposed potions of the template substrate to form a plurality of holes within the template substrate corresponding to the plurality of holes in the first thin film. The method yet further includes depositing a second thin film on the etched template substrate to form a nanostructured thin film. The nanostructured thin film includes a nanopillar array disposed along a first surface of a flexible substrate. The flexible substrate and the nanopillar array comprise a polymer material.
PAINT MASK ASSEMBLY AND METHODS OF USE
Paint mask assemblies are described herein in various embodiments. A paint mask assembly includes a window portion having a removable mask affixed thereto. The paint mask assembly can be affixed over a mark on a surface so that the mark is visible through the window portion of the paint mask assembly. When the paint mask assembly is painted, the paint is applied over the removable mask, but the window portion remains unpainted. When the removable mask is removed, the mark remains visible through the window portion of the paint mask assembly.
Display apparatus and manufacturing method thereof
A display device according to one or more exemplary embodiments of the present invention includes: a display panel; a window on the display panel; an active surface layer on the window; and a hard coating layer on the active surface layer and having a curved surface.
Devices and methods for removal of acute blockages from blood vessels
A clot retrieval device with an elongate shaft and an expandable section, the expandable section having a framework of interconnected strut elements distal of the elongate shaft, the strut elements forming an outer expandable body and an inner expandable body. At least a portion of the strut elements include a first coating of radiopaque material defining a plurality of micro-columns, wherein each micro-column includes a length extending between a first end coupled to one of the plurality of strut elements and a second free end opposite the first end, the length of each micro-column is longer than a width of each micro-column. The second free end is capable of moving further apart when a convex bend is applied to the respective strut element during use. Also including a second coating.
METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING PANELS AND PANEL OBTAINED THEREBY
A method may be provided for manufacturing coated panels that include at least a substrate and a top layer with a printed motif. The top layer may be provided on the substrate. The method may involve providing a synthetic material layer on the substrate. A relief may be provided on the surface of the synthetic material layer provided on the substrate. The relief may include a pattern of recesses. The pattern may be at least partially determined using a digital technique that is applied for providing a synthetic material-repelling agent or a lacquer-repelling agent. The agent may determine at least a portion of the pattern of recesses.
