SCREENING APPARATUS AND METHOD
An apparatus for screening, treatment, monitoring and/or assessment of visual impairments, comprising electronic means for simultaneously applying two separate and unrelated processing methods to images presented to a patient's eyes; a first processing method being applied to an non-amblyopic eye (the eye with the better vision), and a second processing method being applied to an amblyopic eye (the weaker eye, or the impaired eye). A method for screening, treatment, monitoring and/or assessment of visual impairments, comprising: a. defining a starting point, wherein differences between a patient's eyes are completely, or as closely as practically possible, corrected, to enable two identical or similar images to be transferred to the brain from the patient's eyes; b. defining an ending point, wherein there is no correction applied to any of the patient's eyes; c. defining a screening, treatment, monitoring and/or assessment plan, for initially applying correction to images according to the starting point, then gradually reducing the correction, at a controlled and predetermined rate, towards the ending point; and d. applying the plan to images presented to the patient's eyes, while monitoring patient's performance.
GAIT ASSISTANCE APPARATUS AND OPERATING METHOD THEREOF
A gait assistance apparatus including at least one sensor configured to sense a step motion of a user, and an operator configured to determine assistance forces of a right step and a left step of the user based on step motion information of the user and adjust the assistance force for at least one of the right step or the left step of the user based on a result of proportionally adding together the assistance forces of the right step and the left step based on a variable ratio may be provided.
ELECTRO-ACTUATABLE COMPRESSION GARMENTS WITH SHAPE MEMORY ELEMENTS
A compression garment having one or more flex frames that can be shortened or lengthened to apply or release a compressive force to the limb or other anatomical feature of a user. The compression garment can have a wire made of shape memory material (shape memory alloy). A controller of the compression garment can supply an electrical input to the wire, generating heat that can cause the wire to contract such that the flex frame deflects to a shorter length to apply a compressive force to the limb or other anatomical feature of the user. The one or more flex frames can be contracted in unison or in sequence to direct the flow of bodily fluids in the limb or other anatomical feature of the user.
Thigh-Only Deep Vein Thrombosis Device and Double Pulsation Method of Using Device
A device for applying compression to a patient's limb includes a sleeve and a control unit configured to supply pressurized fluid to the sleeve using the following inflation/deflation process: inflating the at least one chamber from an initial pressure to a first pressure; maintaining the at least one chamber at the first pressure for a first predetermined amount of time; changing the pressure in the at least one chamber from the first pressure to a second pressure, wherein the second pressure is greater than the initial pressure; maintaining the at least one chamber at the second pressure for a second predetermined amount of time; changing the pressure in the at least one chamber from the second pressure to the first pressure or a third pressure greater than the second pressure; maintaining the at least one chamber at the first pressure or the third pressure for a third predetermined amount of time; and deflating the at least one chamber to zero pressure or a fourth pressure.
EXOSKELETON DEVICE AND CONTROL SYSTEM
This document describes an exoskeleton device that includes a cable, a lever that is connected to the cable, a frame comprising a strut that redirects the cable toward the lever, wherein the frame is coupled to the lever by a rotational joint; and a motor that is connected to the cable and configured to cause the cable to provide a torque about the rotational joint, wherein the cable is configured to provide the torque by exerting a first force on the lever and a second force on the frame, and wherein the cable is further configured to provide the torque in a first rotational direction and is prevented from applying the torque in an opposite rotational direction to the first rotational direction.
HIP EXOSKELETON
An exoskeleton wearable on a body of a human having two legs, the exoskeleton comprising a first HAA joint and a second HAA joint to assist the human with leg abduction and adduction movements that are parallel to a frontal plane, each of the first and the second HAA joints having an actuator, each actuator including a motor and a clutch. The exoskeleton further comprises a sensor system for measuring a combined center of mass of the human and the exoskeleton in the frontal plane and a step width of the human in the frontal plane. The exoskeleton further comprises a controller that outputs adjustment angles for each of the first and the second HAA joints based on the center of mass and the step width. The first and the second HAA joints are respectively rotated based on the respective output adjustment angles.
Passive and active driving device for strengthening muscle
A muscle-strengthening passive and active motion device includes: a joint supporter supporting a body part that is bendable or stretchable with a joint region; a driver driving the joint supporter by being combined to the joint supporter; and a controller controlling the driver, wherein the controller is capable of accelerating or decelerating a driving speed of the joint supporter.
Handheld articulated user-assistive device with behavior control modes
A handheld tool includes a handle; an implement mount configured to detachably accept and to rigidly hold a user-assistive implement; an actuator assembly mounted to the handle to physically manipulate the implement mount relative to the handle; a first sensor disposed to sense an orientation of the handle; a second sensor disposed to sense an orientation of the user-assistive implement; a controller disposed in or on the handle and coupled to the actuator assembly and the first and second sensors; and memory coupled to the controller. The memory stores instructions for identifying a type of the user-assistive implement attached to the implement mount, selecting a behavior routine based upon the type of the user-assistive implement identified, and manipulating the user-assistive implement relative to the handle according to the behavior routine to aid performance of a task with the handheld tool.
COMPRESSION BELT ASSEMBLY FOR A CHEST COMPRESSION DEVICE
A chest compression device with a chest compression belt assembly including guards and sensors operable with a control system to control operation of the system depending on detection of proper installation of the guards.
Motion assistance apparatus
A motion assistance apparatus includes a force transmitting frame having a sliding space therein, the force transmitting frame configured to support a distal part of a user, a slider configured to slide in the sliding space, and a driving frame connected to the slider and configured to slide with respect to a proximal part of the user.
