Coated overhead conductor

A polymeric coating can be applied to an overhead conductor. The overhead conductor includes one or more conductive wires, and the polymeric coating layer surrounds the one or more conductive wires. The overhead conductor can operate at a lower temperature than a bare overhead conductor with no polymeric coating layer when tested in accordance with ANSI C119.4 method. Methods of applying a polymeric coating layer to an overhead conductor are also described herein.

METHOD FOR FORMING A POLYETHYLENE ALUMINA NANOCOMPOSITE COATING

A method for forming a polyethylene and alumina nanocomposite coating on a substrate is described. The method may use microparticles of UHMWPE with nanoparticles of alumina to form a powder mixture, which is then applied to a heated steel substrate to form the nanocomposite coating. The nanocomposite coating may have a Vickers hardness of 10.5-12.5 HV.

Provided is a method of making a coated object, which may include stereolithographically producing a green intermediate object from a dual cure polymerizable resin, the intermediate object containing uncured polymerizable material therein; then, optionally cleaning the green object; then, in any order: coating at least one surface portion of the object with a particulate material; and heating the object sufficiently to further cure the object; the coating and/or heating steps carried out under conditions in which uncured polymerizable material sweats (or exudes) to the surface of said object, and wherein the uncured polymerizable material contacts the particulate material, polymerizes, and bonds the particulate material to the surface of the object during the coating and/or heating steps. Also provided is a coated object produced by the method.

Transfer plate pretreatment device and method, as well as transfer device and plate-hanging method

The present disclosure provides a transfer plate pretreatment device and method, as well as a transfer device and a plate-hanging method. The transfer plate pretreatment device comprises: a driving roller, which comprises a heating layer configured to heat a transfer plate deployed on the driving roller; and a pressing roller, which is configured to press the transfer plate to improve wettability of the transfer plate.

Method and system for covering inner walls of a cavity with a protective layer made of anti-corrosion wax or anti-corrosion agent

A method for covering inner walls of a cavity with a protective layer made of anti-corrosion wax, in particular for use on vehicle bodies and add-on parts for vehicle bodies. Anti-corrosion wax is brought into an atomized form (protective agent mist) by a mist generator and supplied through an outlet opening to the cavity to be preserved. The protective agent mist is deposited on inner walls of the cavity and forms an anti-corrosion agent layer.

A method for coating and curing a material on a product having a plurality of edges and faces. More specifically, disclosed is an efficient method for coating and curing engineered wood products (EWP) in general, and the edges of EWP in particular.

System for producing a fully impregnated thermoplastic prepreg

A thermoplastic prepreg includes a web or mesh of fibers in which the web or mesh of fibers includes chopped fibers. The thermoplastic prepreg also includes a thermoplastic material that fully impregnates the web or mesh of fibers so that the thermoplastic prepreg has a void content of less than 5%. The thermoplastic material is polymers that are formed by in-situ polymerization of monomers or oligomers in which greater than 90% of the monomers or oligomers react to form the thermoplastic material. The thermoplastic prepreg includes between 5 and 95 weight percent of the thermoplastic material and the chopped fibers that form the web or mesh of fibers are un-bonded.

Coated wood substrate

The invention includes a method for preparing and top coating an item made of powder coated MDF (or other substrate containing wood) with the end result of improved visual and tactile smoothness; the invention includes the steps of cutting and machining the part, pre-powder preparation and sanding of the part, powder coating the part, post-powder preparation and sanding, and applying the liquid top coat to the part, resulting in a smoother finish than is currently available in any other powder coated MDF finish while requiring less coats than similar liquid paint finishes.

A system for forming a particle layer on a substrate may include at least one sprayer and at least two masks configured to selectively mask a substrate in a first region and second region of the substrate. The at least one sprayer may be configured to spray particles at the substrate, where the at least two masks maintain the first region and second region substantially free of the deposited material. A heater may be employed to heat the substrate as the particles are sprayed by the at least one sprayer onto the substrate.

Methods and systems for deposition of blended polymer films

Methods and systems for deposition of blended polymer films are disclosed. According to an aspect a method of producing a film on a substrate includes combining a guest material, a host matrix, and a solvent having one or more hydroxyl (OH) bonds to form a target emulsion. The method also includes exposing the target emulsion to an infrared source that is tuned to an absorption peak in the host matrix that is reduced in or absent from the guest material thereby desorbing the host matrix from the target emulsion and lifting the guest material from the surface of the target emulsion. The target emulsion and the substrate are oriented with respect to each other such that the lifted guest material is deposited as a film upon the substrate.
