METHOD FOR PRINTING ON FLEXIBLE LOW SURFACE ENERGY SUBSTRATES
A method for printing on a low surface energy substrate. The low surface energy substrates may be flexible low surface energy substrates. A primer is applied to the surface of the low surface energy substrate using a spray coating system. A pressure pot spray system that oscillates as the substrate passes underneath it on a conveyor system may be used. The primer is then allowed to air dry. Once dry, a printer can be used to print a graphic, design or other ornamental feature on the primed surface of the substrate. Once printing is complete, a clear coating is applied to the substrate and then cured.
Curing agent for tie-coat composition comprising an amino-silane adduct
The application discloses a method for applying a fouling-release coating system to a surface, said surface suitably provided with an anticorrosive coat, and an article comprising a substrate, said substrate having a surface, preferably an anticorrosive coat on at least a part of the surface of said substrate and a tie-coat on said substrate. A curing agent composition comprising an amino-silane adduct comprising a high molecular weight amine, HMWA, as well as a tie-coat comprising said curing agent composition are also provided.
Process for coating the interior surfaces of pipes made of nonmetal materials
Methods and systems for cleaning, coating and sealing leaks in existing pipes made of nonmetal materials selected from a nonmetal material selected from at least one of plastics, PVC (polyvinyl chloride), composite materials, or polybutylene, in a single operation. A piping system can be cleaned in one pass by dry particulates forced and pulled by air throughout the piping system by a generator and a vacuum. Pipes with nonmetal fittings or with metal fittings or pipes with a combination of metal and nonmetal fittings can be protected from wear by water erosion and rupturing, extending the life of pipes made of nonmetal materials selected from at least one of plastics, PVC (polyvinyl chloride), composite materials, or polybutylene. Coatings can be applied to pipes having diameters up to approximately 6. Leak sealants of at least approximately 4 mils thick can cover insides of pipes, and can include novel mixtures of fillers and epoxy materials, and viscosity levels. A positive pressure can be maintained within the nonmetal pipes during applications. Piping systems can be returned to service within approximately 96 hours.
Process for Coating the Interior Surface of Non-Metallic Pipes with Metal Valves and Metal Fittings
Methods, processes, compositions and systems for preventing leaching effects from water pipes (such as lead, steel and copper) having an inner diameter of at least approximately 12 mm. 2-part thermoset resin coating is applied to the inner surfaces of the pipes where the curing agent can be a phenol free and plasticizer free adduct type. The coating can reduce heavy metals, such as lead, from leaching from installed pipes to less than approximately 10 g/L (10 ppb). When cured, specific leachates, Bisphenol A and Epichlorohydrin from the coatings will be (less than) <1 g/L (1 ppb) with overall TOC levels measured at (less than) <2.5 mg/L (2.5 ppm). Pipes can be returned to service within approximately 24 hours, and preferably within approximately 4 hours.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DECORATING METALS WITH MORE THAN ONE COLOR
A method for applying a layer of a second color according to a predetermined pattern, on at least one face of a metal substrate, which is entirely painted with a first color comprising applying a primer according to a predetermined pattern onto at least one face of a metal substrate, applying thereto a UV curable powder coating comprising a second color that is different from the first color, removing excess of UV curable powder coating such that the UV curable powder coating remains only at a location on the metal substrate determined by the primer, activating IR and UV energy in order to cure the UV curable powder coating, and forming a metal substrate decorated with at least two colors according to the predetermined pattern on at least one face of the metal substrate, and a system for performing the same.
Aqueous primer composition for enhanced film formation and method of using the same
A water-based bonding primer composition and a method of applying the same onto a metallic surface prior to adhesive bonding. The bonding primer composition is a water-based dispersion containing water, one or more epoxy resins, one or more curing agents, a silane compound, a low amount of propylene carbonate (PC), and optional additives. The bonding primer composition can form substantially smooth films by spraying, and at the same time, meet environmental regulations and provide high bonding performance.
