Outlet-coated ceramic honeycomb bodies and methods of manufacturing same
A coated ceramic honeycomb body comprising a honeycomb structure comprising a matrix of intersecting porous walls forming a plurality of axially-extending channels, at least some of the plurality of axially-extending channels being plugged to form inlet channels and outlet channels, wherein a total surface area of the outlet channels is greater than a total surface area of the inlet channels, and wherein a catalyst is preferentially located within the outlet channels, and preferentially disposed on non-filtration walls of the outlet channels. Methods and apparatus configured to preferentially apply a catalyst-containing slurry to the outlet channels and non-filtration walls are provided, as are other aspects.
Resin impregnation method, method of manufacturing wavelength-conversion module, and wavelength-conversion module
A method of impregnating voids of a sintered metal body having a porous structure with resin, the method comprising preparing a resin material that contains a defoamer containing hydrophilic or hydrophobic particles, defoaming the prepared resin material by reducing pressure of the resin material, applying the defoamed resin material onto a surface of the sintered metal body, impregnating the voids with the resin material by reducing pressure of the sintered metal body and the resin material applied to the surface of the sintered metal body so as to expel gas from the voids; and curing the resin material by heating.
Operating room coating applicator and method
A disposable coating applicator container for applying a coating of a therapeutic agent upon an object to be coated. The disposable coating applicator container includes a sealable container, the sealable container having a container bottom, the container bottom having upwardly extending walls, each upwardly extending wall terminating in an upper edge, and a closure for sealing a device compartment formed in part by the upwardly extending walls, the closure adjacent to the upper edges of the upwardly extending walls; and a therapeutic agent positioned in fluid communication with the device compartment, wherein the disposable coating applicator container comprises a flexible material and is in the form of a bag-like structure.
Method of coating a substrate with a washcoat
A method of coating a substrate with a washcoat is disclosed. The method comprises engaging the substrate with a headset of a substrate coating apparatus so as to locate an upper surface of the substrate below a washcoat showerhead of the substrate coating apparatus; and discharging a washcoat out of the washcoat showerhead towards the upper surface of the substrate; and drawing the washcoat through the substrate by applying a suction force to a lower surface of the substrate.
FLUID FEED RING AND ASSOCIATED APPARATUS AND METHOD
A substrate coating apparatus is disclosed. The substrate coating apparatus comprises a substrate holder for holding a substrate vertically; a piston for introducing, by pushing or injecting, a liquid comprising a catalyst component into the substrate via or through open ends of the plurality of channels at a lower end of the substrate; a vacuum generator for applying a vacuum to open ends of the plurality of channels at an upper end of the substrate; and a fluid feed ring for supplying the liquid onto a face of the piston. The fluid feed ring comprises an annular body comprising an inner face bounding a central bore of the fluid feed ring; a fluid feed port for receiving the liquid; a plurality of outlet apertures on the inner face of the annular body for discharging the liquid onto the piston face; and a distribution channel extending at least part-way around the annular body which provides fluid communication between the fluid feed port and the plurality of outlet apertures.
Low temperature cured silicone lubricious coatings
Novel, lubricious coatings for medical devices are disclosed. The coatings provide improved lubricity and durability and are readily applied in coating processes a low temperatures that do not deform the device. The present invention is also directed to a novel platinum catalyst for use in such coatings. The catalyst provides for rapid curing, while inhibiting cross-linking at ambient temperatures, thereby improving the production pot life of the coatings.
OUTLET-COATED CERAMIC HONEYCOMB BODIES AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING SAME
A coated ceramic honeycomb body comprising a honeycomb structure comprising a matrix of intersecting porous walls forming a plurality of axially-extending channels, at least some of the plurality of axially-extending channels being plugged to form inlet channels and outlet channels, wherein a total surface area of the outlet channels is greater than a total surface area of the inlet channels, and wherein a catalyst is preferentially located within the outlet channels. and preferentially disposed on non-filtration walls of the outlet channels.
