Apparatus for additive manufacturing
Various embodiments provide a method and apparatus for forming a three-dimensional article through successive fusion of parts of at least one layer of a powder bed provided on a work table in an additive manufacturing machine, which parts corresponds to successive cross sections of the three-dimensional article. The method comprises the steps of: applying a layer of predetermined thickness of powder particles on the work table, applying a coating on at least a portion of the powder particles, which coating is at least partially covering the powder particles, and fusing the powder particles on the work table with an electron beam.
Method for maskless patterning of metal alloys
The disclosure relates to maskless, laser-assisted methods for making a metal surface comprising at least one of hydrophobic and hydrophilic regions; and at least one of micro- and nanostructured regions.
COATING OF CELLULOSIC SUBSTRATES WITH A MATERIAL CURABLE BY RADIATION AS A REPLACEMENT OF AQUEOUS COATINGS
The present invention refers to a process for pre-coating substrates with copy a matrix surface by curable material for use in industrial printing systems and allowing the advantageous production of substrates ready for printing or finishing. It also refers to the machines necessary to its attainment, in particular those that allow the simultaneous coating of two opposite surfaces of the substrate.
RELEASE WEBS AND TEXTURED PRODUCTS
The present disclosure features processes and equipment for manufacturing materials that have a textured surface formed by applying a first texture to a curable coating, curing the coating, and then embossing a second, different texture over the first texture. The disclosure also features textured materials, including both release webs for use in replicative casting processes and finished products in sheet, board, plate or web form.
HIGH-PERFORMANCE ANION EXCHANGE MEMBRANES AND METHODS OF MAKING SAME
Anion exchange membranes may include a polymeric microporous substrate and a cross-linked anion exchange polymeric layer on the substrate. Anion exchange membranes may have a resistivity of less than about 1.5 Ohm-cm.sup.2 and an apparent permselectivity of at least about 95%. The anion exchange membranes may be produced by a unique, two step process.
Silicone-based material
Surface-structured, cross-linked silicone-based material and method for making the same. Embodiments of silicone-based materials described herein are useful, for example, in applications of light capture, anti-reflection, light redirection, light diffusion, hydrophobic surfaces, hydrophilic surfaces, light guiding, light collimation, light concentration, Fresnel lens, retro-reflection, drag reduction, air bleed adhesives, release liner, abrasion resistance, and anti-fouling.
MATTE COATING COMPOSITION, DECORATIVE MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
A matte coating composition is provided which, while exhibiting low gloss, has high levels of transparency and various resistance properties. Also provided are a decorative material having superior design aesthetics that uses the above matte coating composition, and a method for producing the decorative material. A matte coating composition used for forming a surface protective layer that can utilize gloss difference to portray an uneven three-dimensional feel, wherein the matte coating composition contains a silica and a binder component, and is at least one of heat-curable and ionizing radiation-curable, the silica has an average particle size determined by a laser diffraction method of 3 to 10 m, and a primary particle size calculated from the specific surface area of 10 to 50 nm, and the amount of the silica, relative to the resin solid fraction of the matte coating composition, is from 20 to 30% by weight.
Adhesive article including primer layer and method of making the same
Adhesive articles that include a substrate, a silicone polyoxamide-containing primer layer, and a silicone adhesive are disclosed. Methods of making the adhesive articles and the use of a silicone polyoxamide as a primer for improving adhesion between a substrate and a silicone adhesive are also disclosed.
Method of making an insulated conductive component
A method of manufacturing an insulated conductive component having an electrically conductive element is provided. The method includes applying a first layer of a first material comprising a thermally conductive ceramic on a portion of the conductive element, and applying a second layer of a second material comprising a polymeric resin over the first layer. The method includes curing the conductive element to infuse the second material into the first material to define an electrically insulative, thermally conductive coating on the portion of the electrically conductive element.
Nanoscale thin film deposition systems
A method and system for nanoscale precision programmable profiling on substrates. Profiling material is dispensed on a substrate or a superstrate. The superstrate is brought in contact with the substrate. The profiling material is then cured after bringing the superstrate in contact with the substrate. The superstrate is separated from the substrate after curing. An optical metrology of points on the substrate corresponding to the final substrate profile is then performed.
