An aqueous coating composition is provided that is preferably substantially free of styrene and structural units derived from styrene. The coating composition includes a resin system that preferably includes a water-dispersible polymer and an emulsion polymerized ethylenically unsaturated monomer component. The resin system is preferably formed using a process that includes emulsion polymerizing the ethylenically unsaturated monomer component in the presence of an aqueous dispersion including the water-dispersible polymer. In certain preferred embodiments, the water-dispersible polymer is a salt of an acid- or anhydride-functional aromatic polyether polymer.

The wall has an interior surface facing the lumen, an outer surface, and a plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) coating set supported by the wall. The PECVD coating set comprises a water barrier coating or layer having a water contact angle from 80 to 180 degrees, applied using a precursor comprising at least one of a saturated or unsaturated fluorocarbon precursor having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms and a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms. Optionally, the coating set includes an SiOx gas barrier coating or layer from 2 to 1000 nm thick, in which x is from 1.5 to 2.9 as measured by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and optionally other related coatings.
MODULAR TREATMENT APPARATUS FOR CONTAINERS
Provided is an apparatus for treating containers and in particular plastic containers having a container treatment unit, wherein the apparatus has a main transport device which is suitable and intended to transport the containers along a predetermined transport path, wherein the container treatment device has at least two treatment devices which are suitable and intended to treat the containers in a predetermined manner, having a feed and discharge unit which is suitable and intended to feed containers to be treated to the at least first treatment unit and to discharge containers already been treated from the first treatment device and having a media supply unit which is suitable and intended to feed media to the at least one first treatment unit.
Process for making horizontally-aligned epoxy graphene material
A method includes depositing graphene into a hardener, mixing the hardener and the graphene to produce a homogeneous composite mixture, adding a resin material to the composite mixture to produce an epoxy graphene material, coating a structure with the epoxy graphene material, aligning the graphene sheets in the in-plane orientation, and curing the epoxy graphene material.
METHOD FOR MAKING WATER-DISPERSIBLE AND WATER-DISPERSED POLYMERS
Water-dispersible or water-dispersed polymers are made by reacting (i) an unsaturated monomer containing one or more cyclic carbonate groups, or (ii) an unsaturated or saturated oligomer or polymer containing a plurality of cyclic carbonate groups, with a tertiary amine in the presence of an acid, or with an acid in the presence of a tertiary amine, or in the presence of an acid and a tertiary amine, to provide a water-dispersible or water-dispersed monomer, oligomer or polymer. When step a) provides a monomer or oligomer, the monomer or oligomer is reacted with one or more monomers in the presence of an initiator to provide a water-dispersible or water-dispersed polymer. When step a) provides a polymer, the polymer is optionally used to support emulsion polymerization of one or more unsaturated monomers in the presence of an initiator to provide a water-dispersible or water-dispersed further polymer.
CONTAINER PROCESSING SYSTEM
Provided is a container processing system that inhibits, a processing liquid that is used to process containers from being attached to peripheral equipment. A container processing system (10) includes a chamber (30) having in an inside thereof a gas flow control chamber (35) and a container processor (40) including container treaters (51) and (61) that perform processing on containers (C). The chamber (30) has container processing openings (36) and (37) making the gas flow control chamber (35) and an outside of the chamber (30) communicate with each other. The container treaters (51) and (61) are configured to perform, from inside the gas flow control chamber (35), processing on the containers (C), which are inserted into the chamber (30) through the container processing openings (36) and (37), or on the containers (C), which is opposed to the container processing openings (36) and (37), outside the chamber (30).
