Electro-Acoustic Sensors For Remote Monitoring
Ultrasonic transmitting elements in an electroacoustical transceiver transmit acoustic energy to an electroacoustical transponder, which includes ultrasonic receiving elements to convert the acoustic energy into electrical power for the purposes of powering one or more sensors that are electrically coupled to the electroacoustical transponder. The electroacoustical transponder transmits data collected by the sensor(s) back to the electroacoustical transceiver wirelessly, such as through impedance modulation or electromagnetic waves. A feedback control loop can be used to adjust system parameters so that the electroacoustical transponder operates at an impedance minimum. An implementation of the system can be used to collect data in a vehicle, such as the tire air pressure. Another implementation of the system can be used to collect data in remote locations, such as in pipes, enclosures, in wells, or in bodies of water.
AN ULTRASOUND TRANSDUCER AND A TILED ARRAY OF ULTRASOUND TRANSDUCERS
An ultrasound transducer has a control circuit with an array of circuit portions, the used ones of which defining a circuit area. cMUT elements are provided over the top of the control circuit. Vias provide a coupling between each cMUT element and a Respective one of the circuit portions beneath. At least some vias are located beneath the bottom electrode of the cMUT element and each via connects to the respective circuit portion at a same position relative to the circuit portion. The array of cMUT elements overlaps at least one side of the circuit area. The fixed via position makes the circuit design simpler, and the overlap enables tiling or else enables a modular design in which different cMUT designs may be used with the same circuit.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR GENERATING AN OSCILLATORY MOTION
The invention is directed to a device and to a method for generating an oscillatory motion of a mass, wherein an oscillating electrical signal and/or an operation power is wirelessly transmitted in order to facilitate retrofitting the device.
ULTRASOUND DIAGNOSTIC APPARATUS AND OPERATION METHOD OF ULTRASOUND DIAGNOSTIC APPARATUS
An ultrasound transducer unit including a plurality of ultrasound transducers transmits and receives ultrasound waves to and from an inside of a subject. In a case where a checking operation unit is operated, a controller controls a driving voltage supply unit such that a driving voltage is supplied with all of the plurality of ultrasound transducers as driving target transducers. In a case where the checking operation unit is operated, a depolarization determination unit calculates, for each ultrasound transducer, a reception sensitivity in a case where an ultrasound wave is received by driving all of the plurality of ultrasound transducers as the driving target transducers, and determines whether or not a depolarization determination value calculated from the reception sensitivity of each ultrasound transducer satisfies numerical conditions. If the numerical conditions are satisfied, a polarization voltage supply unit supplies a polarization voltage to each of the plurality of ultrasound transducers.
Motion prediction for wireless power transfer
A signal generator generates an electrical signal that is sent to an amplifier, which increases the power of the signal using power from a power source. The amplified signal is fed to a sender transducer to generate ultrasonic waves that can be focused and sent to a receiver. The receiver transducer converts the ultrasonic waves back into electrical energy and stores it in an energy storage device, such as a battery, or uses the electrical energy to power a device. In this way, a device can be remotely charged or powered without having to be tethered to an electrical outlet.
AN ULTRASOUND TRANSDUCER AND A TILED ARRAY OF ULTRASOUND TRANSDUCERS
An ultrasound transducer has a control circuit with an array of circuit portions which together define a circuit area. cMUT elements are provided over the top of the control circuit. Vias provide a coupling between each cMUT element and a respective one of the circuit portions beneath. The vias are located at spaces between the cMUT elements and connect to the circuit portion beneath at a position relative to the shape of the circuit portion. The pitch of the array is greater than the pitch of the circuit portions in at least one direction of the array such that in said at least one direction, the cMUT elements extend beyond one or both sides of the circuit rea. This makes tiling easier and enables a modular design.
