Variable-resistance actuator

The disclosed system may include a substructure configured to support various components, an actuator configured to provide substantially linear motion along a specified axis in response to an electrical input, an input component hingedly coupled to the substructure, where the input component is configured to receive input from a user, and a mechanical linkage coupled to the input component and to at least a portion of the actuator. The mechanical linkage may be configured to translate the substantially linear motion provided by the actuator to a rotary force applied to the input component via the mechanical linkage. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

PHASED ARRAY EMAT TRANSDUCER FOR GENERATION OF SHEAR HORIZONTAL WAVES

A system for non-destructive inspection that generates Shear Horizontal waves in phased array configuration using an Electro Magnetic Acoustic Transducer (EMAT). The system includes an EMAT transducer with a plurality of elements made of individually wound elements under a single magnetic field, and an instrument to pulse, receive and record the signals from each element separately. Each wired element in the array generates shear waves perpendicularly to the coil windings which radiate around the elements' long axis. By phasing the pulsing and receiving of the individual elements, the beam can be electronically focused at different angles in the component from 0° to +/−90°. The compact distribution of the array permit using relatively high frequencies without generating deleterious grating lobes.

LINEAR VIBRATION MOTOR

A linear vibration motor is disclosed, including: a movable part, a suspension device, and a fixed part; wherein the movable part includes at least one magnet set, and the fixed part at least includes a coil, at least one magnetically conductive element and a housing; the magnet set and the coil and the magnetically conductive element of the fixed part are arranged with a gap. The magnetically conductive element is located above, below, or both above and below the magnet set; the suspension device includes two stripe springs, respectively located on both sides of the movable part, with one side of each stripe spring connected to the movable part, and the other side connected to the fixed part. When not actuated, the suspension device is a straight full-length stripe without bending at the connections at both ends.

LINEAR VIBRATION MOTOR

A linear vibration motor is disclosed, including: a movable part, a suspension device, and a fixed part; wherein the movable part includes at least one magnet set, and the fixed part at least includes a coil, at least one magnetically conductive element and a housing; the magnet set and the coil and the magnetically conductive element of the fixed part are arranged with a gap. The magnetically conductive element is located above, below, or both above and below the magnet set; the suspension device includes two stripe springs, respectively located on both sides of the movable part, with one side of each stripe spring connected to the movable part, and the other side connected to the fixed part. When not actuated, the suspension device is a straight full-length stripe without bending at the connections at both ends.

VIBRATION GENERATOR

According to one embodiment, a vibration generator includes first and second integrated elastic support bodies, a vibrator, and a coil. Each of the first and second integrated elastic support bodies includes an elastic beam part configured to undergo elastic deformation, and a support part supporting the elastic beam part, the elastic beam part and support part being integrally formed. The vibrator includes a magnet and a magnetic material, and is interposed between the first and second integrated elastic support bodies and supported so as to vibrate. The coil is located inside the vibrator, and interposed and supported between the first integrated elastic support body and the second integrated elastic support body.

Haptic actuator including field member within slotted opening of suspended coil and related methods

A haptic actuator may include a base, a field member coupled to the base and that may include spaced apart permanent magnets. The haptic actuator may also include a coil having a loop shape defining a slotted opening therein, and a spring member suspending the coil so that the field member is within the slotted opening and permitting relative movement of the field member and the coil.
