SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF PROCESSING UNDELIVERABLE DELIVERY ITEMS
20220351534 · 2022-11-03 ·

Provided herein are processing systems, computer readable media, and methods for processing undeliverable delivery items. A system includes a camera and a hardware processor operably connected to the camera and configured to perform operations that include capturing, using the camera, an image of a delivery item that is undeliverable to an intended recipient or at an intended delivery location, the image including an address of the intended recipient. The operations also include embedding, by the hardware processor, processing data with the image to thereby generate an embedded image as a printable file, the embedded image including the image of the delivery item framed by a template area that includes a reason for the delivery item being undeliverable. The operations also include notifying a sender of the delivery item that the delivery item is undeliverable via a hard copy printout of the embedded image.

Address recognition apparatus, sorting apparatus, integrated address recognition apparatus and address recognition method

An address recognition apparatus has an address recognition section, and a non-addressee determination section. The address recognition section acquires, based on an image of an object, address information described on the object. The non-addressee determination section determines, based on a comparison result of information relating to first address information that is the address information acquired in the address recognition section at a desired timing, and information relating to second address information that is the address information acquired in the address recognition section before the first address information, whether or not the first address information is a non-destination address that is not an address of an addressee.

Projection instruction device, parcel sorting system, and projection instruction method

There is provided a projection instruction device that generates a projection image to be projected on parcel based on sensing information of the parcel, the device including: a processor; and a memory, in which by cooperating with the memory, the processor performs weighting on a value of a feature amount of a color image of parcel included in the sensing information based on a distance image of parcel included in the sensing information, and tracks the parcel based on the weighted value of the feature amount of the color image.

Increasing scan rate of parcels within material handling facility

Systems and methods disclosed herein increase a scan rates of parcels within a material handling facility. In some instances, the systems and methods described herein focus an imaging device on a label attached to a parcel to capture image data of the label that is in focus. This permits the image data to be analyzed for discerning shipping identifiers that are used for sortation and/or processing the parcels. For example, a height of the parcel may be determined and a field of view (FOV) associated with capturing the image data may be correspondingly adjusted. Furthermore, other setting(s) associated with imaging the parcels may be adjusted. For example, lighting conditions may be adjusted to reduce glare, contrast, and/or brightness captured within the image(s), and/or other setting(s) of the imaging device may be updated, such as gain and exposure.

Systems and methods of processing undeliverable delivery items

Provided herein are processing systems including a camera that is arranged to capture an image of a delivery item. The system also includes a hardware processor that is operably connected to the camera and that is configured to perform operations that include capturing, using the camera, an image of a delivery item that is undeliverable to an intended recipient or at an intended delivery location, where the image includes an address of the intended recipient. The operations also include embedding, by the hardware processor, processing data with the image of the delivery item to thereby generate an embedded image, and notifying a sender of the delivery item that the delivery item is undeliverable using the embedded image. Also provided herein are related computer readable media and methods of processing delivery items that are undeliverable.

METHOD OF SORTING PRE-SORTED MAILPIECES
20170225201 · 2017-08-10 ·

The method of sorting pre-sorted mailpieces in a postal sorting machine comprises the steps consisting in: detecting loading in the feed inlet of the machine of a batch of mailpieces pre-sorted by a mailer of the mailpieces on the basis of their delivery addresses; and, in response to said detection, loading, in the reference database of the address recognition system, a lexicon comprising the delivery addresses for only the pre-sorted mailpieces of the batch, and, by means of the monitoring and control unit and for each current mailpiece, comparing the result of the OCR reading with said delivery addresses of the lexicon so as to recognize the delivery address of said current mailpiece.

MULTI-LEVEL DISTRIBUTION AND TRACKING SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A distribution item is disclosed. The distribution item includes a first item comprising a container having an outer surface defining an enclosed space. A computer-readable code is disposed on the outer surface. The computer-readable code is associated with a first level entity. The first item also includes destination information associated with a second level entity disposed on the outer surface. The distribution item also includes one or more second items removably positioned within the enclosed space of the first item. Each of the one or more second items includes the computer-readable code associated with the first level entity.

Baggage sorting system

There is provided a projection instruction device that generates a projection image to be projected on a parcel based on a reading result of parcel identification information included in a label attached to the parcel, the device including: a processor; and a memory, in which by cooperating with the memory, the processor detects occurrence of an error, and moves the parcel to upstream in a case where the occurrence of the error is detected.
