SERVICING PRINT BLANKETS

In an example of the disclosure, a system to service a print blanket includes a rotatably mounted endless cleaning surface (ECS), a doctor blade, a heating element, and a container. The ECS is to carry a polymeric material and positioned to engage the print blanket. The doctor blade is disposed in relationship to the ECS and to a container to scrape a portion of the polymeric material from the ECS into the container. The heating element is to heat the container. The container is positioned to collect the scraped portion of polymeric material, and make heated polymeric material available to be picked up by the ECS as the ECS is rotated adjacent to the container.

SERVICING PRINT BLANKETS

In an example of the disclosure, a system to service a print blanket includes a rotatably mounted endless cleaning surface (ECS), a doctor blade, a heating element, and a container. The ECS is to carry a polymeric material and positioned to engage the print blanket. The doctor blade is disposed in relationship to the ECS and to a container to scrape a portion of the polymeric material from the ECS into the container. The heating element is to heat the container. The container is positioned to collect the scraped portion of polymeric material, and make heated polymeric material available to be picked up by the ECS as the ECS is rotated adjacent to the container.

A cleaning device includes an upstream cleaner, an upstream cleaner, and a collection member. The upstream cleaner is configured to remove toner from a surface of a cleaning target. The downstream cleaner is disposed downstream from the upstream cleaner in a direction of movement of the surface of the cleaning target. The downstream cleaner is configured to remove toner from the surface of the cleaning target. The collection member is configured to collect toner from the downstream cleaner.

A drive system is provided for causing the blade to contact the entire smooth surface, thereby removing at least a portion of at least one of dirt, dust, debris, and film. A cleaning device automatically cleans the blade before and after the blade is cleaning the smooth surface. In one example, system is part of a heliostat system for use in a solar collection field as part of a concentrated solar power (CSP) plant.

A soot trap for use in chimney cleaning which includes a soot trap housing having a bottom, a circumferential sidewall, and a top which together define an interior cavity. The bottom and the top have axially aligned push rod pass through openings. A closure is provided in one of the top or the bottom to provide access to the interior cavity of the housing. A sequential series of push rod wipers is stacked loosely in the interior cavity of the housing. Each push rod wiper has an opening that is in axial alignment with the push rod pass through openings, such that the sequential series of push rod wipers wipe soot into the interior cavity of the housing as a push rod passes through the push rod pass through openings.
