CPR volume exchanger valve system with safety feature and methods

A method for regulating gas flows into and out of a patient includes repetitively forcing respiratory gases out of the lungs. Respiratory gases are prevented from entering back into the lungs during a time between when respiratory gases are forced out of the lungs. Periodically, an oxygen-containing gas is supplied to the lungs.

A system includes a guidance device that provides feedback to a user to compress a patient's chest at a rate of between about 90 and 110 compressions per minute and at a depth of between about 4.5 centimeters to about 6 centimeters. The system includes a pressure regulation system having a pressure-responsive valve that is configured to be coupled to a patient's airway. The pressure-responsive valve is configured to remain closed during successive chest compressions in order to permit removal at least about 200 ml from the lungs in order to lower intracranial pressure to improve survival with favorable neurological function. The pressure-responsive valve is configured to remain closed until the negative pressure within the patient's airway reaches about 7 cm H.sub.2O, at which time the pressure-responsive valve is configured to open to provide respiratory gases to flow to the lungs through the pressure-responsive valve.

A method for treating urinary incontinence is provided. The method includes providing a device having an expandable portion having an outer surface, a first electrode, and a second electrode, the first and second electrodes coupled to the outer surface of the expandable portion and configured to cause a contraction of a muscle in communication with the electrodes. The method further includes causing the expandable portion to inflate such that the first and second electrodes contact vaginal walls and causing a contraction of a muscle in communication with the electrode.

SMART PHONE HAVING FUNCTIONS OF DIAGNOSING AND TREATING ILLNESS
20170128017 · 2017-05-11 ·

Smart phones capable of detecting electrical impedances of and providing electronic pulse stimuli to acupuncture points located on a human body are disclosed. An example smart phone is equipped with a hardware diagnosis module and a hardware treatment module that function based on the principle of holography of protruding parts of the human body, in addition to having regular smart phone functions. The diagnosis module may receive electrical impedance data detected from protruding parts of a human body and determine the type of illness according to the analog electrical impedance data. The treatment module may generate electronic pulse stimuli on acupoints located on the human body (such as ears, hands and feet), thereby performing electronic acupuncture treatment. The example smart phone may also detect blood pressure, heart rate, blood oxygen value and blood glucose values of the human body.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL NEGATIVE PRESSURE STIMULATOR MODULE CAPABLE OF PERFORMING CUSTOMIZED COMPOSITE STIMULATION FOR IMPROVEMENT OF SKIN FUNCTIONS
20170056281 · 2017-03-02 ·

The present invention relates to a three-dimensional negative pressure stimulator module capable of performing customized composite stimulation for the improvement of skin functions that applies three-dimensional negative pressure stimulation as well as composite stimulation such as electric current stimulation, light stimulation, and thermal stimulation, which is helpful in improving functions of the skin, to skin compositively, and further has a function of sensing a skin state, thereby performing customized composite stimulation. The three-dimensional composite stimulator module includes: a negative pressure cup; and at least one diaphragm provided along the transmission path of the negative pressure of the negative pressure cup, wherein at least any one of negative pressure stimulation, light stimulation, thermal stimulation, and electrical stimulation is transmitted compositively to the skin or subcutaneous tissues.

WALKING ASSISTANCE METHODS AND APPARATUSES PERFORMING THE SAME

A walking assistance method may include: computing an amount of exercise of a user based on a biosignal of the user; adjusting a pattern of an assist parameter based on the amount of exercise; and/or generating a force corresponding to the amount of exercise, based on the adjusted pattern. A walking assistance apparatus may include: a pattern adjuster configured to compute an amount of exercise of a user based on a biosignal of the user; and/or a driver configured to generate a force corresponding to the amount of exercise based on a pattern of an assist parameter based on the amount of exercise.

MONITORING AND FEEDBACK FOR RESUSCITATION
