A pill crusher comprises a base, a U-shaped movable crushing member, a first connecting rod, a handle, and a stopper. The U-shaped movable crushing member, the first connecting rod, the handle, and the stopper form a deformable four-connecting-rod structure. The U-shaped movable crushing member and the stopper form a V-shaped crushing cavity. As the handle is pressed downward, a space of the V-shaped crushing cavity is gradually closed. As the handle is lifted upward, the space of the V-shaped crushing cavity is gradually opened. The U-shaped movable crushing member can rub with respect to the stopper. The pill crusher pulverizes a pill in a highly efficient way, greatly buffers a reaction force in crushing a pill, reduces burden of users, and reduces potential wrist and elbow damage of medical staff caused by long term use.

A pill crushing device pulverizes pills and then transfers the pulverized pills out of the device with minimal transfer loss and spillage. The device includes a pill chamber and may include a storage portion. The pill chamber forms a threaded connection with the storage portion that enables detachment. The storage portion stores the pill and operates the crushing mechanism. The pill is pulverized in the pill chamber. The pill chamber is disposed beneath the storage portion. A first spoon retains the pill and carries the pulverized pill out of the chamber along a longitudinal opening of the pill chamber. An optional second spoon detachably attaches to the first spoon to carry supplemental compositions to the pulverized pill.

Pill cutters and methods of cutting pills. The pill cutters may optionally include a spinnable blade and may be configured to cause the blade to spin to cut a pill. The pill cutters may be adapted to adjust the position of the pill before cutting the pill.

A pill cutter is provided and has a base, two holders, a driving assembly, and a lid. The two holders are movably mounted on the base and configured to clamp one or multiple pills at the same time. The driving assembly is connected to the two holders and is capable of driving the two holders to move. The driving assembly comprises two wheels and the two wheels are connected to the two holders. The lid is tiltably mounted on the base, and a blade is mounted on the lid and configured to split the pill(s) at the same time. When the two wheels are rotated, the two holders are capable of moving toward each other or away from each other. With the holders driven by the wheels, multiple pills can be clamped by the holders and cut at once, which saves a lot of time.

A grinding machine includes a slight gyration module for driving a homogeneous container to undergo an X-axial motion and a Y-axial motion within 1-3 mm distance, a homogeneous-stick rotation module for rotating a homogeneous stick in the homogeneous container so as to generate an eccentric motion between the homogeneous stick and the homogeneous container, and a homogeneous-stick vertical movement module for vertically moving the homogeneous stick with respect to the homogeneous container. When the homogeneous stick is lowered into the homogeneous container by the homogeneous-stick vertical movement module, an eccentric motion with a 1-3 mm radius of gyration can be activated between the homogeneous container and the homogeneous stick so as to carry out the grinding in a tiny slim space between the homogeneous container and the homogeneous stick; such that the grinding efficiency of the grinding machine can be substantially enhanced.

A sensor detects the presence of an upper cup in a pair of cups, between which pills are crushed by machine. Operation of the crushing machine is prevented if the upper cup is absent, and enabled if the upper cup is present. The sensor may be a photodiode that is sensitive to a beam of laser light that is directed over the lower cup. The beam passes when the upper cup is absent and is blocked by the upper cup when present. An optional sensor may be included to detect whether the drawer containing the cups and pills is closed, which is used as a further condition that must be satisfied before crushing can be started. Also, an interlock can be included to prevent the drawer from opening during the crushing process. By ensuring the presence of the upper cup, the escape of powdered medication can be prevented.

A drug and fluid dispenser includes a first mechanism for holding and dispensing a fluidized food; a second mechanism for measuring, holding, and dispensing a specified amount of fluid to be taken with a set of medicines at a specified time; a third mechanism for holding and dispensing one or more sets of medicines in a chronological order according to a pre-determined schedule of administration to an individual; a fourth mechanism for granulating a next scheduled set of medicines and mixing the granulated next scheduled set of medicines with the specified amount of fluid at the specified time; a first output mechanism for administering contents of the first mechanism and contents of the fourth mechanism to the individual; and a second output mechanism for rinsing the fourth mechanism subsequent to administration of each of the sets of medicines.

A crushing device (100) is suitable for crushing pills (703), tablets, or other ingestive objects. The crushing device (100) includes a base (101), an anvil (104), an end pillar (105), and a support pillar (106). A threaded shaft (108) is disposed between the anvil (104) and the end pillar (105), and passes through an aperture (107) in the support pillar (106). The threaded shaft (108) is coupled to a crushing head (109), which translates toward the anvil (104) when a lever (110) coupled to the threaded shaft (108) is rotated radially about an axis (301) of the threaded shaft (108). When a pill crushing pouch (500) having pills (703) therein is placed between the crushing head (109) and the anvil (104), rotation of the lever (110) crushes the pills (703).

A tablet splitting apparatus includes a guide, a catcher, and a splitting mechanism. The splitting mechanism comprises a pair of blades and a pair of blade shifters. The guide, the catcher, and the splitting mechanism are accommodated in a housing. The housing includes an opening and a support. The support and the guide each include a sliding portion. The guide disposed at the supporting position is slid along the sliding portion of the support so as to be detachable from the supporting position through the opening. The blades and the blade shifters each comprise a sliding portion. The blades and the blade shifters are in a slidable contact with each other at the sliding portions. The blades attached to the respective predetermined positions of the blade shifters are slid along the sliding portions of the blade shifters so as to be detachable from the blade shifters through the opening.

A prescription drug monitoring/dispensing device ensures prescription medication housed within is taken only as directed, and not abused or sold on the streets. The device serves as an intricately guarded casing that may only dispense the preprogrammed dosage amounts at preset times, as directed by a prescribing physician. The device may include a housing having a biometric finger scanner and a display screen in communication therewith, a loading tube capable of holding a pill therein, a rotating hub in communication with the loading tube, a rotating disc in communication with the loading tube, and an exit port capable of dispensing the pill out from the housing.
