A metal tab bending tool for securing an upright stud in place and relative to an elongated track of a wall assembly. The track includes an elongated flat web with first and second free-ended flanges extending in the same direction from opposed first and second side edges, respectively, of the web. Each flange of the web defines a plurality of spaced tabs extending toward the flat web from a free-end of each flange. The tool for connecting the stud in place and relative to the track includes a base. The tool also includes at least two pairs of bending arms each pivotally mounted to the base. Each pair of bending arms includes a first bending arm, adapted to be disposed to one side of the upright stud, and a second bending arm spaced apart from the first bending arm and adapted to be disposed to an opposite side of the stud. A mechanism is provided for moving at least one bending arm of each pair of bending arms from a first position and into engagement with a tab on each of the first and second free-ended flanges so as to bend opposed tabs on said first and second free-ended flanges engaged by the bending arms toward a center of the elongated track whereby inhibiting movement of said stud therepast. A method for securing a stud in place relative to a track is also disclosed.

Tool which is movable in an apparatus

The invention relates to a tool for shaping a material, in particular for bending plate material, comprising a mounting part configured to be in any case partially received in a receiving space of an apparatus, and a shaping part extending from the mounting part. The tool is provided with means for displacing the mounting part in longitudinal direction through the receiving space. The tool can thus be handled and positioned easily even when it is relatively heavy. The displacing means can comprise one or more displacing members protruding from the tool, for instance rollers or wheels. The invention also relates to a combination of an apparatus and such a tool, wherein the apparatus has a receiving space in which the mounting part of the tool is received. The receiving space here comprises a wall part on which the displacing means engage. Finally, the invention further relates to a method for positioning a tool as described above in an apparatus.

Press brake and method of operating press brake

There is provided a press brake that can improve forming accuracy in partial bending. A press brake includes: a conveying mechanism that intermittently conveys a workpiece; a die including a pair of shoulder portions and a groove portion located between the pair of shoulder portions, the pair of shoulder portions being arranged away from each other in a conveying direction of the workpiece and supporting a rear surface of the workpiece; a backup plate that extends on the pair of shoulder portions, covers the groove portion, and is interposed between the die and the workpiece; and a punch that moves relative to the die so as to approach the die each time the conveying mechanism stops conveying the workpiece and presses the workpiece so as to bend the workpiece within an elastic deformation region of the backup plate.

Punch assembly with interchangeable tips

A punch assembly with interchangeable tips includes a punch body and a punch tip releasably coupled to the punch body. The punch body includes a proximal end, a distal end opposite the proximal end, and a cross-sectional shape defined between the proximal end and the distal end. The proximal end includes a flange configured to engage a punch holder. The distal end includes a distal surface include a front side and a rear side. At least one first magnet faces a same direction as the front side and at least one second magnet faces a same direction as the rear side. The punch tip is coupled to the distal end of the punch body via a magnetic coupling provided by the at least one first magnet and the at least one second magnet.

Tool for a Press Brake

This invention relates to a tool for press brake. More specifically, the invention relates to a modular and adjustable female die tool mountable to a stationary bed part of a press brake machine or similar. The modular die tool unit (10) includes a drive shaft (18) rotatable about a central longitudinal axis, a pair of first and second die jaws (14, 16) each located on opposite sides of the longitudinal axis and reciprocally movable towards and away from on another relative to such longitudinal axis, and a connecting formation at each of the longitudinal ends of the drive shaft (18) for: (i) coaxially connecting the drive shafts (18) of two or more adjacent modular die tool units (10) end-to-end; and/or (ii) connecting a drive means to the drive shaft (18) of one of the modular die tool units (10) thereby to drive such drive shaft (18) and the other drive shafts (18) connected thereto.

Manufacturing method of press-formed member and press forming apparatus

In a press forming step of obtaining, from a blank of high-tensile strength steel sheet of 390 MPa or more, a press-formed product with a shape of cross section having a groove bottom part, ridge line parts, and vertical wall parts. An outward flange including parts along the ridge line parts is formed at an end part in a longitudinal direction. Forming parts to the ridge line parts is started by creating a region positioned at an end portion, in a longitudinal direction, of a part to be formed to the groove bottom part of the blank, which is separated from a punch top part. At that time or thereafter, the region is made to approach the punch top part. When forming the ridge line parts, forming of the parts of the outward flange are conducted, the parts are formed from the start to the middle of the press forming, to reduce or prevent an occurrence of stretch flange fracture and a generation of wrinkling

Press brake tool safety latch mechanism

A press brake tool or similar machine component includes a tool body with a first end configured for operation on a workpiece and a second end configured for coupling the tool with a tool holder in a press brake or related machine tool apparatus. A latch mechanism is provided in the second end, with an actuator configured to rotate the latch mechanism into first and second positions, respectively, for selective engagement and disengagement of the tool with the tool holder.
