A method and device for production of a combustion chamber tube for restraint systems in vehicles. The combustion chamber tube is embossed by several embossing dies arranged stellate around the combustion chamber tube and movable by an annular compression module with several punches movable in synchronized fashion in the radial direction and two inner punches extending into the ends of the combustion chamber tube, each with a support mandrel and a shaping mandrel movable relative to support mandrel. The combustion chamber tube is embossed from the outside by the embossing dies radially movable via punches against the support mandrels and the ends of the combustion chamber tube are shaped by shaping mandrels movable relative to support mandrels when the embossing dies are closed.

A tube jig device for clamping a tube to be expanded by a tube flaring tool includes a base and a height gauge. The base has a plurality of gripping holes, and each of the gripping holes has a round hole and an expanding hole. The height gauge, which has a plurality of stop portions, is movably connected to the base with the stop portions on the first surface and parallel to the first surface. The height gauge is moved to a position where the stop portions are above the expanding holes respectively for the tube clamped in the gripping hole to abut against and waiting to be expanded by the tube flaring tool.

FLARED EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE TUBE HAVING KEYED WASHER
20180142812 · 2018-05-24 ·

An exhaust gas pressure tube assembly and a method for making the tube are disclosed. The assembly includes a keyed washer having a concave conical opening and an exhaust gas pressure tube having an open end for attachment to the boss. The assembly method includes positioning the washer adjacent the boss attachment open end of the pressure tube such that the concave conical opening of the washer faces the open end. A tool is positioned against a washer side and a mandrel having a conical outer surface is then inserted into the open end, causing the open end to be flared against the opening of the washer. The surface of the concave conical opening of the washer may be either smooth or knurled. If the surface is smooth, the mandrel is retained in its flaring position and a brazing or similar procedure to form a strong and gas-tight seal.

Tubes for use in ultrahigh pressure devices, and associated systems and methods of manufacture are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a metal tube includes an elongate bore having a circular transverse cross-sectional shape. The metal tube also includes an elongate wall extending around the bore and having an annular transverse cross-sectional shape with an inner surface closest to the bore, an outer surface furthest from the bore, and a wall thickness extending from the inner surface to the outer surface. An inner portion of the wall is under swage-autofrettage-induced overall compressive stress.

MOLD TOOL

A mold tool generally includes a base, a die assembly, a tightening element, a threaded element, and at least one shaping cap. The base defines a cutout, a first threaded hole opposite to the cutout, and a second threaded hole. The die assembly, composed of a first module and a second module, can be inserted into a receiving space of the base. The tightening element can be screwed into the second threaded hole of the base to fix the die assembly in place. The threaded element can be screwed into the first threaded hole of the base. The shaping cap can be fitted at one end of the threaded element. The die assembly defines channels of various diameters each for holding a tube of a specific diameter. The shaping cap can urge one end of a tube held in the die assembly to form a specific type of flare.

METHOD OF INCREASING THICKNESS OF TUBE AND INCREASED THICKNESS TUBE

A method of increasing the thickness of a tube which increases a thickness of an end part of a tube without a burr being formed, comprising placing a tube 21 between a die 25 and mandrel 22 in the state with a space for increasing the thickness between a small diameter part 22a of the mandrel 22 and a first end part 21a of a tube 21 and between a large diameter hole part 25C of the die 25 and a second end part 21b of the tube 21, using a first upsetting punch 23 and a second upsetting punch 24 to respectively process the first end part 21a and the second end part 21b of the tube 21, pulling out the mandrel 22 from the tube 31 in the state with the second upsetting punch 24 constraining the second end part 31b of the tube 31, and using the first upsetting punch 23 to push up the first end part 31a of the tube 31 to take out the tube 31 from the die 25.

STABILIZER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

A stabilizer having a tubular shape is provided so as to extend in a widthwise direction of a vehicle and coupled to a suspension arm at opposite end portions of the stabilizer. Each of the opposite end portions includes: a first large-diameter bar portion having an outside diameter greater than an outside diameter of an intermediate portion of the stabilizer; and a second large-diameter bar portion having an outside diameter greater than the outside diameter of the first large-diameter bar portion and having a wall thickness greater than a wall thickness of the intermediate portion.

Tube expanding method for manufacturing metal tube

Through a tube expanding processing simulation, a workpiece shape in a state where a tip of a workpiece 10 has advanced by 1.0 m or more after passing through a shoulder portion 3 of a tool 1 is evaluated. A hollow piece shape and a tool shape such that the external diameter is within 1% of the target, the thickness is within 7.5% of the target, and the internal gap between the hollow piece and the tool is 1.0 mm or less are obtained by repeated calculation, and thereby actual tube expanding manufacturing conditions are determined.
