Enteral fluid delivery system

Disclosed is a system for administrating fluids to a patient, such as an infant. The system comprises a container that defines a drip chamber, a source of nutritive fluid fluidically communicating with the drip chamber, and a tube connecting the drip chamber to the gastric cavity of a patient, the chamber including a membrane that is gas-permeable but that is resistant to fluid passage. The system allows fluids to be introduced to the patient and for gastric gases to be released while they are resistant to the leak and spillage.

A fluid delivery device and system is operable to fluidly couple a pair of fluid delivery conduits. One embodiment includes a fluid delivery device sized to meet ANSI/AAMI ID54:1996(R) 2005 and not mate with ANSI/HIMA MD70.1 or ISO 594/1 and ISO 594/2 standards for intravenous ports and connectors to prevent accidental intravenous delivery of fluids intended for enteral delivery. The system includes at least one of a locking tab and a stop flange configured to not mate with matching connectors not configured to satisfy the enteral feeding standards and not specifically configured to mate with the fluid delivery device.

Fluid Heating Device
20210077356 · 2021-03-18 ·

A fluid heating device for on demand heating of fluids for feeding a child includes a pipe that is coupled to and extends from a control module, which comprises a power module. A first and a second tube are coupled to and extend from a first and a second end of the pipe, respectively. A terminus of the first tube is positionable in a reservoir that contains a fluid. A nipple that is coupled to the second tube distal from the pipe is configured to be positioned in a mouth of a child, positioning the child to suck on the nipple to draw the fluid from the reservoir through the first tube into the pipe. A heating element in the pipe heats the fluid as it passes through the pipe. The fluid then passes through the second tube and a hole in the nipple into the mouth of the child.

MEDICAL TUBE

The invention relates to an enteral adapter assembly for connecting an enteral fluid source to an enteral feed tube, the assembly comprising: an adapter including: a proximal end comprising a first connection portion for attaching to a fluid outlet provided on the enteral fluid source, and a distal end comprising a first threaded connection portion for screwing to an end of an enteral feed tube. A fluid conduit extends between the proximal and distal ends. The assembly further comprises a removable cap having a second threaded connection portion configured for screwing the cap onto the first threaded connection portion, wherein the proximal end of the adapter further comprises a locking member configured to irreversibly mate with a corresponding feature provided on the fluid outlet of the enteral fluid source as the adapter is attached to the outlet to prevent removal of the adapter from the outlet when the cap is unscrewed from the distal end of the adapter.

OVERNIGHT HYDRATION SYSTEM

A tubing assembly for use in conjunction with electronic catheter guidance systems is provided and includes a catheter and steering apparatus. The catheter has a proximal end and a distal end that define a lumen therebetween and extends in a longitudinal direction. The steering apparatus includes an electrical connection and a sheath. Further, the sheath includes an electroactive polymer layer, and the sheath's proximal end is coupled to the distal end of the electrical connection, where the steering apparatus is located within the lumen of the catheter. Activation of the electroactive polymer layer results in a change in dimension of the sheath, which initiates a change in a direction in which the catheter travels within a patient's body to assist in accurate placement of the catheter at a desired location. A catheter guidance system and a method for steering a catheter during its placement inside a body are also provided.
