Enteral feeding pump system
An enteral pump system for delivering medical fluids unidirectionally includes a disposable fluid delivery set having a repeatable compression portion and an enteral feeding pump. The repeatable compression portion is helically coiled around a central axis to define a cylindrical shape. The compression portion is configured to pump a large volume of medical fluids per stroke. The compressing portion includes at least two adjacent tubing walls joined around the central axis for repeatable compression. The enteral feeding pump is configured to repeatedly and reliably compress the compression portion of the fluid delivery set along the central axis. In operation, the compression portion is repeatably compressed without distortion along the central axis by the enteral feeding pump to flow unidirectionally through the fluid delivery set.
ENTERAL FEEDING PUMP SYSTEM
Methods and apparatus for an enteral feeding pump system. A method of directing flow for a coil includes drawing fluid from a source and delivering fluid, the coil including input and output check valves to prevent a back flow of fluid.
Systems and devices for controlling delivery of breast milk supplementation
Systems and devices for controlling delivery of a breast milk supplement are described which include a substrate sized for placement on a surface of a breast region of a lactating female, one or more supplement reservoirs associated with the substrate, at least one of the one or more supplement reservoirs including a port with a controllable valve, a data storage component including a breast milk supplement regimen; and a control unit including a microprocessor and circuitry, the control unit operably coupled to the data storage component and to the controllable valve of the at least one of the one or more supplement reservoirs, the circuitry including actuation circuitry configured to actuate the controllable valve of the at least one of the one or more supplement reservoirs based on the breast milk supplement regimen.
DELIVERING NON-PATHOGENIC, INTESTINALLY BENEFICIAL BACTERIA TO A PATIENT HAVING A FEEDING TUBE
Devices and methods for delivering non-pathogenic, intestinally beneficial bacteria to a patient having a feeding tube. Examples of non-pathogenic, intestinally beneficial bacteria that could be used include Bifidobacterium species and Lactobacillus species. In one embodiment, the bacteria is contained in a bacteria infusion device that comprises: (a) an internal chamber; (b) an outlet in communication with the internal chamber; and (c) the non-pathogenic, intestinally beneficial bacteria contained in the internal chamber. Another embodiment is a feeding tube comprising a flexible tubing and coating on the outer surface of the flexible tubing. The coating comprises an antimicrobial agent. Also disclosed are methods of administering a non-pathogenic, intestinally beneficial bacteria to a patient.
Systems and methods for controlling delivery of breast milk supplementation
Systems and methods for controlling delivery of breast milk supplementation are described which include receiving information associated with a breast milk supplement regimen with a breast milk supplement delivery device, the breast milk supplement delivery device including a substrate sized for placement on a surface of a breast region of a lactating female, at least one supplement reservoir associated with the substrate and adapted to contain one or more breast milk supplements, the at least one supplement reservoir including a port with a controllable valve, a data storage component configured to store the breast milk supplement regimen, and a control unit operably coupled to the data storage component and the controllable valve and including a microprocessor and circuitry; and actuating the controllable valve of the at least one supplement reservoir to modulate release of the one or more breast milk supplements based on the received breast milk supplement regimen.
ORAL ADMINISTRATION COUPLER FOR BACK-OF-MOUTH DELIVERY
An improved oral administration coupler for delivery of fluids such as medications and nutritional fluids. Example oral administration couplers have a first end with an applicator for oral delivery to an infant, and a second end with a coupling compatible with an enteral fluid delivery syringe. A fluid delivery conduit extends in fluid communication from the first end to the second end, to deliver fluid from the syringe to the infant. In some example embodiments, the coupler is configured for back-of-mouth delivery, and can comprise a generally elongate and at least partially flexible tube or straw.
ENTERAL FEEDING TUBE
An enteral feeding tube capable of delivering nutrients and/or medications to a patient at multiple points in the gastrointestinal tract and/or aspirating the gastrointestinal tract, comprising two or more channels each with at least one opening, said channels running parallel to the other until one channel ends, each channel keeping the fluid separated from the other channel, said channels being open at the proximal end and closed or open at the distal end and each channel having one or more perforations of same or variable size.
Apparatus, device, and method for infant gavage feeding
The disclosure includes embodiments of an apparatus, a device, and methods to transform an infant feeding bottle into an infant gavage feeding apparatus. According to an embodiment, an infant gavage feeding apparatus can include an infant feeding bottle, a gavage milk delivery component, a retaining ring, and a cord component. In another embodiment, infant milk dual-delivery device to transform an infant feeding bottle to an alternate nipple feeding and gavage feeding apparatus includes a gavage milk delivery component, a retaining ring, and a nipple receiving component. The gavage milk delivery component and the nipple receiving component can be positioned in a branched or a stacked configuration. The device can include a flow closure component and a controller to transition the milk flow for a gavage feeding and nipple feeding. The device can include a funnel to allow milk in the nipple to flow back into the infant feeding bottle.
Lockable adapter assembly
An enteral adapter assembly for connecting an enteral fluid source to an enteral feed tube, the enteral adapter assembly comprising: an adapter including: a proximal end comprising a first connection portion for attaching to a fluid outlet provided on the enteral fluid source, and a distal end comprising a first threaded connection portion for screwing to an end of the enteral feed tube. A fluid conduit extends between the proximal and distal ends. The assembly comprises a removable cap having a second threaded connection portion configured for screwing the cap onto the first threaded connection portion, wherein the proximal end of the adapter comprises a locking member configured to irreversibly mate with a corresponding feature provided on the fluid outlet as the adapter is attached to the outlet to prevent removal of the adapter from the outlet when the cap is unscrewed from the distal end of the adapter.
