FEEDING TUBE WITH INTEGRATED STYLET
A feeding tube with an integrated stylet, for use in less invasive surfactant therapy (LIST) procedures with pre-term infants, has a flexible feeding tube with distal and proximal ends and an adapter at the proximal end. A stylet with distal and proximal ends is positioned within the feeding tube and has an anchor at the proximal end. The anchor is configured to seat within the adapter to prevent the anchor from entering the feeding tube and has one or more channels extending through the anchor to permit fluid to flow from the adapter through the channels and through the feeding tube with the anchor remaining seated within the adapter.
Catheter with balloon valve
A catheter having a selectively inflatable external balloon and an internal balloon, where the internal balloon is operable as a valve to control fluid flow through a channel.
Insertion device positioning guidance system and method
There is provided herein a system and a method for guiding insertion of a gastroenteral tube including: an electromagnetic field generator configured to generate an electromagnetic field covering a treatment area; wherein said electromagnetic field generator is external to the patient; a registration sensor configured to mark anatomic locations on the patient's torso; a gastroenteral tube comprising a tip sensor configured to sense its position and/or orientation relative to the electromagnetic field generator; and a processing circuitry configured to: calculate an orientation of the subject relative to the field generator based on the anatomic locations marked by the registration sensor, load a predefined anatomic map representing a torso; aligning the map based on the anatomic locations marked by the registration sensor, and showing on the map a path of the gastroenteral tube insertion; wherein the path is generated according to changes in the strength of the electromagnetic field sensed by the tip sensor's during the insertion of the gastroenteral tube, independent of the subject's movement and independent of deviations in the position and/or orientation of said field generator.
Enteral fluid delivery system
Disclosed is a system for administrating fluids to a patient, such as an infant. The system comprises a container that defines a drip chamber, a source of nutritive fluid fluidically communicating with the drip chamber, and a tube connecting the drip chamber to the gastric cavity of a patient, the chamber including a membrane that is gas-permeable but that is resistant to fluid passage. The system allows fluids to be introduced to the patient and for gastric gases to be released while they are resistant to the leak and spillage.
Insertable device to prevent aspiration of stomach contents during ventilation and intubation
A novel nasogastric tube, that when properly inserted within a person, blocks the esophagus of the person to prevent gastric contents from being aspirated. The tube can be left in place during direct langroscopy and the device can include a preferably inflatable balloon for obstructing the person’s esophagus. This balloon can be preferably provided on a slidable tube that allows for head movement/flexion without movement of the balloon placement. The tube can be a dual or single lumen device. With a duel lumen device, a first lumen can be connected to a suction tubing to suction gastric contents from the distal end of the tube, while the other lumen can open up above the cuff to allow for easier ventilation with a bag valve mask/BVM. A novel endotracheal tube and novel indwelling catheter also incorporating a balloon component are also disclosed.
FEEDING TUBE
A gastrostomy tube for enteral nutrition or medication of a subject, comprising a dual lumen first flexible tube with an internal retention device at an internal end and a substantially Y-shaped connector at an external end. A single lumen second flexible tube is connected at a first end to a main longitudinal channel of the dual lumen tube via the substantially Y-shaped connector. A second end of the second flexible tube is connectable to a nutrient or medicine source. The invention also relates to a kit of parts comprising a gastrostomy tube and a nutrient/medicine container attachable to the gastrostomy tube.
Catheter Fixation Deivce
An external fixation system for percutaneous drainage procedures may include a base with a first and second side, a first coupler couplable to a conduit, and a second coupler couplable to a drainage bag or mechanism to flush or evacuate a drainage tube during use. The system may be modified to include a locking mechanism to secure conduit sutures. The system may also be used to convert a standard drainage tube into a low profile drainage tube. Also disclosed herein are methods and devices for converting standard feeding tubes into low profile feeding tubes.
Gastrostomy device with pressure monitoring
A gastrostomy device (100) comprises a gastrostomy tube (200) having a retainer lumen (235) extending between a proximal part and a distal part of the tube (200); and an inflatable retaining element (300) coupled to the tube (200) at the distal part. An interior space of the retaining element (300) is in fluid communication with the retainer lumen (300). The gastrostomy device (100) also comprises an indicator (410) being in fluid communication with the retainer lumen (235) at the proximal part of the tube (200). The indicator (410) is configured for indicating a pressure in the retaining element (300) continuously within a range from a pressure corresponding to an empty retaining element (300) to an optimal pressure for the inflated retaining element (300).
INSERTION DEVICE POSITIONING GUIDANCE SYSTEM AND METHOD
There is provided herein a guidance system for positioning an insertion device comprising: an electromagnetic field generator configured to generate an electromagnetic field covering a treatment area, an insertion device comprising an electromagnetic sensor, the electromagnetic sensor configured to receive signals indicative of the electromagnetic field, and a processing circuitry configured to: load an X-ray, CT, ultrasound or MRI image of the subject's chest, mark a location of a first and a second anatomic landmarks on the subject's torso using a registration sensor and obtaining a subject coordinate system based thereon, identify the location of the first and the second anatomic landmarks on the loaded X-ray, CT, ultrasound or MRI image of the subject's chest; aligning the subject coordinate system with the loaded X-ray, CT, ultrasound or MRI image, and display, on the image, a path of the insertion device insertion with respect to the first and the second anatomic locations; wherein the path is generated according to changes in the strength of the electromagnetic field sensed by the tip sensor's during the insertion of the insertion device.
Feeding tube with electromagnetic sensor
There is provided feeding tubes including an electromagnetic sensor including a sensor body comprising a core positioned at a distal end of the sensor lumen, and a wire extending along the length of the feeding tube, wherein an RF induced heating of the feeding tube in an MRI environment is below 5 degrees.
