Bag System Containing a Nutrient Composition Comprising Whole Food Sole Source Meal
A bag system for containing a nutritional composition includes a pouch for holding a nutritional composition front and rear panels which are welded to each other by a bottom weld and a top weld and two welds on each opposed side; and a port for filling and. dispensing for feeding at the top of the pouch with a cap/lid to be resealable. An 8 French tube or larger is connected at the port for delivering the composition without dilution and via enteral pump delivery, A nutritional composition has fatty acids; dietary fibers; carbohydrates; a vitamin and mineral blend; proteins; and a whole food blend. A nutritionally complete nutrient composition for enteral feeding comprises a whole food blend and additional nutrients. Preferably; the nutrient composition is provided in a squeezable serving pouch. The nutrient composition is free of major allergens.
METHODS, COMPOSITIONS, AND DEVICES FOR SUPPLYING DIETARY FATTY ACID NEEDS
Nutritional formulas comprising long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFAs) are provided, along with methods and devices for preparing and/or administering nutritional formulas. In some embodiments, a percentage of the LC-PUFAs in the nutritional formula are in the form of monoglycerides and/or free fatty acids. In some embodiments, the nutritional formulas do not comprise added lipase. Also provided are methods for providing nutrition to a subject, methods for improving fat absorption, methods for improving cognitive ability, methods for preventing chronic lung disease, and methods for reducing the length of time a patient requires total parenteral nutrition.

Enteral feeding adapter
We generally describe an enteral feeding adapter comprising: a tube section; a crimping fixation unit arranged on said tube section at a first section of said enteral feeding adapter for releasably connecting said enteral feeding adapter with a gastrostomy tube connector; and a screw cap freely rotatably arranged around said tube section at a second section of said enteral feeding adapter for connecting said enteral feeding adapter with a screw connector.
Drug preparation kit and process of preparing a drug
A drug preparation kit is disclosed that includes an adapter and a funnel unit. The adapter has a stud section with an in-container side and an out-container side. The stud section of the adapter is dimensioned to tightly fit into an opening of a container. The adapter has an access passage extending from the out-container side to the in-container side through the stud section. The funnel unit has a neck portion dimensioned to tightly fit into the access passage of the adapter. The funnel unit has a degassing channel formation arranged to provide a degassing channel extending from the in-container side of the stud section of the adapter to the out-container side of the stud section of the adapter when the neck portion of the funnel unit is fitted into the access passage of the adapter.
ENTERAL FLUID DELIVERY SYSTEM
Disclosed is a system for administrating fluids to a patient, such as an infant. The system comprises a container that defines a drip chamber, a source of nutritive fluid fluidically communicating with the drip chamber, and a tube connecting the drip chamber to the gastric cavity of a patient, the chamber including a membrane that is gas-permeable but that is resistant to fluid passage. The system allows fluids to be introduced to the patient and for gastric gases to be released while they are resistant to the leak and spillage.
Nasogastric tube structure
A nasogastric tube structure is disclosed which comprises a first tube, a clamping member and a positioning member. The first tube has a front necking opening, a rear opening, a stopper ring on a wall thereof adjacent to the rear opening and an engaging groove on the wall thereof adjacent to the stopper ring. The clamping member comprises two corresponding positioning segments and a C-shaped clip portion for connecting the two positioning segments and engaging with the engaging groove. The positioning member is sleeved on the two positioning segments.
Threaded Connector Port Cleaning System, Method, and Apparatus
Systems, methods, and apparatus for cleaning and sealing threaded connector ports are disclosed. An exemplary cleaning system includes a basin and cleaning apparatus including a sealing connector, an alignment peg, and an outer foam sleeve having a tubular portion. The sealing connector includes a body portion having a gripping portion, an internal thread cleaning portion, and a longitudinal axis. Another cleaning apparatus also includes a cap cleaning end having a cap cavity and an inner foam pad. Another system includes a threaded connector port and a cleaning apparatus including an alignment peg, a disposable foam platform, and a handle body, which includes a grip portion and a pair of cleaning arms. The cleaning arms and foam pads are adapted to engage the female threads of a threaded connector port. A sealing apparatus includes a disposable liner having locator flaps and a placement tool having a handle and locator fingers.
Devices and methods for the preparation of a nutritional formula
Exemplary embodiments of the disclosure may be drawn to a device having an inlet and a chamber. Immobilized lipase, immobilized protease, and immobilized amylase may be contained within the chamber. The device may also include an outlet, wherein a flow path extends from the inlet, through the chamber, and to the outlet.
Method and apparatus for assisting, checking, and confirming nasogastric and orogastric tube insertion and placement
A long, thin, flexible medical apparatus, a kit including such an apparatus, and a method for employing the apparatus to assist in placing a distal portion of a lumen of a gastric tube in a stomach of a mammal. The apparatus comprises an elongate body portion, a handle portion fixed to a proximal end of the body portion, and a distal tip portion fixed to a distal end of the body portion. An ability to insert the body and distal tip portions into the gastric tube over the length of the long, thin, flexible structure provides a positive indication that the lumen is not blocked, obstructed, or otherwise compromised over that length. pH indicator sensors may be retained by the distal tip portion to exhibit a verifiable color change in response to contact with a predetermined subject fluid, such as gastric fluid, lung fluid, or another bodily fluid.
