The torsion bar also includes a first end portion having a splined outer surface, the first end portion disposed proximate a first end of the torsion bar, the first end portion spaced from the central portion with a first annular groove extending circumferentially about the torsion bar.

Power transmission shaft and spline-processing method

A power transmission shaft including a male spline formed in an outer periphery thereof, and a diameter increasing portion formed on a part of a tooth bottom of the male spline, which is located on an opposite side to an axial end of the power transmission shaft. The tooth bottom of the male spline has a substantially constant circumferential width extending up to an axial region of the diameter increasing portion. The diameter increasing portion includes a chamfered portion formed in the axial region of the diameter increasing portion, the chamfered portion connecting the tooth bottom and a tooth flank of the male spline to each other to reduce a tooth groove width.

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a universal joint using a pipe. The shaft joint of the universal joint is manufactured by: a material preparation step of preparing a material by cutting a pipe to a predetermined length; a shaft formation step of forming a shaft by reducing the outer diameter of a shaft formation portion by forming the outside of the shaft formation portion with a forming machine; a cutting step of bisecting the non-reduced head formation portion by forming a split across the non-reduced head formation portion in an axial direction; a yoke formation step of forming both opposite members of a yoke in a head by pressing the bisected head formation portion; a pinhole formation step of forming a pinhole across the yoke; and a spline shaft formation step of forming a spline shaft on the outer surface of the reduced hollow shaft.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING THE FUNCTIONAL STATE OF A SHAPING TOOTH ARRANGEMENT ON A FORMING TOOL

In a method for monitoring a functional state of a shaping tooth arrangement on a forming tool, at measurement times which are temporally staggered with respect to each other at a plurality of measurement locations on the shaping tooth arrangement, a tooth arrangement force is measured which acts on the shaping tooth arrangement. At each of the measurement times for each of the measurement locations an instantaneous local tooth arrangement force is thereby determined. A previous instantaneous local tooth arrangement force and a subsequent instantaneous local tooth arrangement force are correlated with each other to determine a local state identification value. On the basis of the local state identification values associated with the measurement locations, information is obtained relating to the functional state of the shaping tooth arrangement.

A method for producing a gun barrel with an integrally adjoining housing for at least one breech head includes the steps of providing a cylindrical blank having a through-bore corresponding to the breech head diameter; hammering a first longitudinal portion of the blank on a part of a first hammering mandrel corresponding to the inner profile of the barrel while the first hammering mandrel is guided through the through-bore; and hammering a second longitudinal portion of the blank on a second hammering mandrel corresponding to the inner profile of the housing while the second hammering mandrel is inserted into the through-bore.

Method of manufacturing hollow axle shaft for a vehicle

A hollow axle shaft for transmitting rotational motion from a prime mover to a wheel of a vehicle comprises an elongated member. The elongated member extends along an axis between a first end and a second end. The hollow axle shaft further comprises a flange at the first end and extending radially away from the axis for receiving the wheel. The flange is integral with the elongated member. A method of manufacturing the hollow axle shaft comprises the step of providing the elongated member comprising a material and defining a bore extending along the axis between the first and second ends, and the step of forming the flange with the material at the first end.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A PUSH ROD FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE STEERING SYSTEM AND PUSH ROD

The invention relates to a method for producing a push rod (2) for a motor vehicle steering system (1), wherein a guide section (11) of the push rod (2) is formed with a non-circular and/or polygonal contour (12) for sliding guidance in the longitudinal direction of a central longitudinal axis (13) of the push rod (2) and for securing against rotation about the central longitudinal axis (13) of the push rod (2), by producing the contour (12) of the guide section (11) by means of a single manufacturing step in a provided blank. In order to enable a greater variety of contours when producing the contour (12) of the guide section (11) by means of the single manufacturing step, the method is characterized in that the contour (12) of the guide section (11) is formed by means of a warm forming or a cold hammer rolling forming.
