In embodiments, an item-management system comprises a container defining plural cells, a docking station configured to receive the container, sources of visible information to indicate the cell(s) into which an item is to be loaded, and at least one controller operable to control the visible information sources to indicate the cell into which the item is to be received.

A medication-taking support device that has no possibility of a pill case being left outside the medication-taking support device even if the pill case ejected outside a casing is not received by a user is provided. The medication-taking support device includes a cassette (25) that stores medicine-containing pill cases in such a manner that the pill cases are stacked on top of one another, a push-out mechanism (30) that pushes out the pill case on a lowermost tier in the cassette (25) by a predetermined dimension, and a pull-back mechanism (32) that pulls back the pill case remaining on the lowermost tier without being extracted from the cassette (25) into the cassette (25).

A computerized dispensary management system and method enhances dispensary product management and are supported by a blister pack separation apparatus. The system and method operate according to a computer-implementable application and at least one computer. A scanner system further cooperates with the application and computer for scan-inputting product- and person-identifying machine-readable code information to the application for processing. The person-identifying code is scannable to identify a person and a product regimen for the person. The application provides a series of sequential screenshots based upon basic filler and dispenser screenshots for filler and dispenser side product management, guiding the user through a regimen-filling and administration. The processes are characterized by screenshot re-arrangements occurring thereto as each successive code is scanned. The blister pack separation apparatus operates to simultaneously sever individual blister pack units therefrom, which units are then outfitted with machine-readable code and thus made scannable by the system.

Systems, devices, and methods are disclosed for pen that distributes viscous plant material, such as rosin, from a cartridge. The pen receives, from a button, input corresponding to a first control instruction. The pen has a motor configured to receive the first control instruction from the controller and, in response, drive a spindle that linearly displaces a plunger, wherein the linear displacement of the plunger causes plant material to be pushed out of a nozzle of the pen. The pen cartridge includes a rubber plug configured to be linearly displaced by the plunger to cause rosin to be disturbed from the cartridge.

A system for sensing use of a pharmaceutical bottle may include a housing, a sensing plate mechanically coupled to the housing by a flexible expansion member, an activation plate mechanically coupled to the sensing plate, an electronic contact on the housing, an electrical circuit formed by the contact on the housing and the activation plate, an indicator configured to indicate use of the pharmaceutical bottle, a user interface configured to receive user input to control the indicator, and a processor and memory with instruction that when execute by the processor cause the system to determine that the pharmaceutical bottle has been used based on a change in the electrical circuit.

Systems and methods for verifying proper possession of a medication are disclosed. A reader device scans a code printed on the medication to extract an embedded serial number. The reader device captures biometric information of a person in possession of the medication. A first server queries a prescription database, which retrieves biometric characteristic data associated with the embedded serial number. A determination is made if the retrieved biometric characteristic data matches biometric characteristic data. The match information is displayed on the reader device.

A child-resistant medication container assembly that includes a blister card including a plurality of compartments each configured to support a dosage of medication, and a puck including a body portion, a recess that defines a partition wall in the body portion, and a plurality of openings defined in the partition wall. Each opening corresponds to one of the plurality of compartments in the blister card. The assembly further includes a carton including a first wall opposite a second wall. An access opening is defined in the first wall and a plurality of perforations are defined in the second wall.
