Use of improved image acquisition for a medical dose preparation system. The medical dose preparation system may include a work station for capturing medical dose preparation images (e.g., to document preparation of a mediation dose). The medical dose preparation image may be captured by a video data stream processor capable of performing an auto cropping technique on a video data stream received from an image device.

Pharmaceutical containers and methods for producing, registration, identification and authentication of such containers

Pharmaceutical containers and methods for producing, registration, identification and authentication of such containers and for determining the operation state of machines for producing pharmaceutical containers are provided.

Method of producing tablet comprising specific exhausted air relative humidity

A method of producing a tablet in which an uncoated tablet is coated by a coating agent, the method including: a coating process of coating uncoated tablets with a coating agent by spray coating the coating agent onto tablets that are churned and tumbled inside a container, and drying the tablets inside the container by supplying drying air into the container and exhausting air from the container, wherein spray coating conditions, including air supply temperature, air supply rate, and spray speed, are controlled according to the weight of the coating agent with which the uncoated tablets are coated, such that the humidity of air exhausted during spray coating is within a range of from 14% RH to 30% RH.

Catheter Tray, Packaging System, Instruction Insert, and Associated Methods

A tray (100) for accommodating a coiled medical device, such as a catheter assembly (700), includes a first compartment (101), a second compartment (102), and a third compartment (103). The catheter assembly (700) and devices associated with a catheterization procedure, such as syringes (701,702) containing sterile water and lubricating jelly and a specimen container (703) can be disposed within the tray. Printed instructions (1001) can be included with the tray (100). One or more layers of wrap material (2200) can be folded about the tray (100) to enclose the tray (100) and other items, such as an additional layer of wrap material (2701), packaged liquid hand sanitizer (2401), and packaged gloves (2402). When a health care services provider (3101) unfolds the wrap material, the same can be used to create a sterile field beneath a patient (3201).

Networked containers designed to promote compliance with a medication regimen

Introduced here are containers designed to promote compliance with regimens for administering the medications stored therein. These containers can facilitate the conveyance of information related to a regimen through the use of a non-written medium. A container may include one or more display elements configured to emit/reflect light to indicate when medication stored in the container should be administered. An example of a display element is a light-emitting diode (LED). Emittance/reflectance of the light by the display element(s) may be governed by a different clock signal than the clock signal used to determine whether doses of medication are due to be administered.

VAPORIZER APPARATUS FOR COMPRESSED TABLET AND LOOSE FILL PLANT SOURCE MATERIALS

There is disclosed a vaporizer apparatus for a compressed tablet formed from a plant source material containing medicinal ingredients of therapeutic efficacy. In an embodiment, the apparatus includes: a holder for a compressed tablet; a microprocessor; a controlled air flow; and a controlled heat source; wherein the microprocessor is adapted to control the air flow and the heat source to vaporize the compressed tablet received in the compressed tablet holder at a desired rate. In another embodiment, the vaporizer apparatus includes a carousel for receiving a disc cartridge containing packaged compressed tablets. In still another embodiment, the vaporizer apparatus is adapted to recognize a type of compressed tablet placed into the holder, and to control an air flow and a heat source based on selected therapeutic compounds desired to be released from the recognized type of compressed tablet.

Medicine-supplying device and medicine-counting device

This drug-supplying device is provided with: a rotator that discharges drugs towards the outer diameter by being rotated; a drug shape-specifying unit for specifying the shape of the drug; and a control unit that rotates the rotator at a rotational speed specified, on the basis of a speed table that correlates drug shape to rotator rotational speed, by the shape that has been specified by a drug-detecting unit.

Pill inspection apparatus and pill inspection method

A pill inspection apparatus of the present invention includes: an illumination portion 30 for irradiating light to a medical envelope 20 in which at least a translucent pill 22 is enclosed; an imaging portion 11 for acquiring a transmission image of the irradiated medical envelope 20; and an image processing portion 12 for detecting, as the translucent pill 22, a pill having a brightness value of its outer periphery lower than that of its center using the transmission image, the illumination portion 30 includes a light emitting portion 31, and a light-collecting portion 33 for collecting light is provided between the light emitting portion 31 and the medical envelope 20. By obtaining a uniform outline of the translucent pill 22 irrespective of a shooting position, it is possible to inspect the translucent pill 22 irrespective of a permeation rate.

A device can include an alert mechanism and a detection mechanism. The alert mechanism can activate an alert for a user to take a medication from a target medication receptacle. The detection mechanism can detect a tag associated with a medication receptacle. Actions may be performed based on a correlation between the detected tag and the target medication receptacle, such as deactivating the alert based at least in part on detecting the tag associated with the target medication receptacle.

Medication change system and methods

Method for generating user interface that indicates medication changes in medication starts with a processor detecting a medication change event. Processor retrieves medication information based on the medication change event including images of two medications. Processor generates color difference output using a color neural network, image of first medication and second medication. Color difference output comprises information on a difference in hue, saturation or color distribution. Processor generates medication appearance difference output using medication appearance neural network, image of first medication and second medication. Medication appearance difference output comprises information on a difference in shape, segmentation or form. Processor generates a differential record using the color difference output and medication appearance difference output. Processor causes medication change user interface to be displayed that comprises medication images and color and appearance descriptions of the medication which are displayed to emphasize differences identified in the differential record. Other embodiments are disclosed herein.
