Processes for recovering sand and active clay from foundry waste

A process of recovering clean sand and active clay from sand or dust from a foundry is disclosed.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REUSING GREEN SAND

A method and an apparatus for effectively reusing the green sand that would otherwise overflow the line for molding to be disposed of, even though it is fully usable, are provided. The method for reusing green sand comprising the steps of treating the green sand with ultrasonic waves in water; separating a mixture that is obtained by the step of treating the green sand with ultrasonic waves to form a suspension and to form residual particles of the sand; circulating the suspension to then proceed to the step of treating the green sand with ultrasonic waves so that the suspension is concentrated; storing the concentrated suspension; and feeding the stored suspension to green sand by a predetermined amount when green sand is mulled.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CLEANING SAND

One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for producing beneficial re-use sand from foundry sand. Foundry sand can be collected from a mold making operation, and/or from the casting removal and cleaning process. The collected sand product can be cleaned and separated into a clay and carbon mixture, and a beneficial re-use sand. The collected sand product can be cleaned by mixing with water, and subjecting the resulting mix to a hydrocyclone at appropriate flow rates. The hydrocyclone can separate the mix into a carbon, clay and water mix for re-use, and a wet sand mix. Water can be separated from the wet sand and reused, and the resulting sand can be used as beneficial re-use sand.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR REGENERATING FOUNDRY SAND

A method for regenerating foundry sand, in particular for the renewed production of foundry molds and/or foundry mold cores from the regenerated foundry sand, through removal of binding agent, from a foundry sand/binding agent mixture, using a solid support means (6), wherein binding agent and support means (6) are separated from the foundry sand, wherein support means (6) is brought into contact with the foundry sand/binding agent mixture, is preferably added to it, and, together with the binding agent, which adheres thereto and/or which is incorporated therein, is separated from the foundry sand (10).

Apparatus and a method for reclaiming foundry sand

To provide an apparatus for reclaiming foundry sand and a method for reclaiming foundry sand that can effectively remove binders and so on that attach to returned foundry sand that has been used. Foundry sand that has been used is supplied from a chute for feeding sand 14A to a rotor 16. The rotor 16 is rotated by a driver 20 so that frictional force is generated on the sand in the rotor 16. Then, the sand in the rotor 16 is dropped into the container for washing with water 30 that is located below the rotor 16. In the container for washing with water 30, an agitator 34 is rotated by the driver 20 so that the sand in the container for washing with water 30 is agitated and washed with water.

DEVICE AND PROCESS FOR HOT AIR JET DEWAXING AND RECLAIMING WAX COMPOSITION FROM PATTERN FOR CASTING SHELL MAKING
20240399443 · 2024-12-05 ·

A device and process for hot air jet dewaxing and reclaiming wax composition from patter for investment casting shell making. The device includes a hot air supply mechanism, a hot air jet dewaxing mechanism, a liquid wax collection mechanism, a liquid wax reclaiming mechanism, and a bearing platform. A shell for investment casting is installed on the bearing platform. A hot air outlet end of the hot air supply mechanism is in fluid communication with a hot air inlet end of the hot air jet dewaxing mechanism, and an injector connected with hot air outlet end of the hot air jet dewaxing mechanism extends into a cavity of the shell and faces the body of a wax pattern. Liquid wax generated in the cavity of the shell flows under the action of self-gravity into the liquid wax collection mechanism from its liquid wax inlet end.
