SHOT TUBE FOR DIE-CAST MACHINE
A shot tube includes an inner bore for delivering molten material into a die-cast mold. The shot tube has an outer peripheral surface with at least one surface for receiving a locking member to lock the shot tube into an aperture in a fixed mold portion and an alignment structure for properly aligning the shot tube in the fixed mold portion. An opening receives molten material into the inner bore.
DIE CASTING MOLD AND CAROUSEL
A die casting machine comprises a carousel and a plurality of molds disposed around the carousel. The carousel rotates about a central axis, such that each of the plurality of molds comes into a position for casting in turn. Each mold comprises a toggle mechanism and extraction pins. A gripping mechanism may extend up through a hole in the carousel table to couple the toggle mechanism to an actuator. At least one of the pins may comprise a pin brake such that the pins remain in position when the mold is opened, suspending a newly cast metal part in mid-air, when the brake is activated. When the brake is deactivated, the pins may retract, and the part may be removed without damaging the cast part.
Closing unit of a shaping machine
A closing unit of a shaping machine includes a moveable clamping plate, a push rod connected to the moveable clamping plate and having an outside profile, a divided locking nut provided with an inside profile, and a closing force mechanism for acting on the moveable mold clamping plate with a closing force. The push rod is lockable in a closed position of the locking nut by the cooperation of the inside profile and the outside profile with the closing force mechanism. For displacement of the locking nut between an opened and the closed position, a rotary drive is provided for rotation of a shaft, and at least one toothed rack cooperates with the shaft by way of a tooth arrangement and is connected to the locking nut.
A die-cast machine is also disclosed.
MOLD CLAMPING APPARATRUS, MOLDING APPARATUS AND MOLDING METHOD
A mold clamping apparatus according to the present invention includes: a fixed platen to which one mold of a pair of molds is to be mounted; a movable platen which is disposed opposite the fixed platen and to which the other mold is to be mounted; a pressure-receiving platen connected to the fixed platen via tie bars; a mold opening/closing mechanism including a toggle link mechanism for opening/closing and clamping the molds by moving the movable platen back and forth; a drive mechanism including a servo motor for driving the mold opening/closing mechanism; and a control device for controlling the servo motor, wherein the control device includes an acceleration/deceleration adjustment section capable of adjusting an acceleration time, a deceleration time and a target speed of the servo motor during a mold clamping operation.
MOVABLE PLATEN, OPENING/CLOSING APPARATUS AND MOLDING APPARATUS
A movable platen according to the present invention includes: a mold clamping platen having a projecting portion in a mold closing direction-side surface; a mold mounting platen mounted to the projecting portion of the mold clamping paten; and a guide mechanism fixed to the mold clamping paten and supporting the mold mounting platen. Only the mold clamping paten is fixed to the guide mechanism, while the mold mounting platen is not fixed but placed on platen surface support portions.
MOLD CLAMPING APPARATUS
A mold clamping apparatus of the type including a mold opening/closing actuator and a mold clamping cylinder, wherein rails for guiding a movable platen are disposed on a base, and the mold clamping cylinder has a left leg and a right leg each disposed between one pair of left and right rails of the rails. The rails provided for guiding the movable platen is used also as a side guide for the mold clamping cylinder. This arrangement can obviate the need for a separate guide member.

The rails provided for guiding the movable platen is used also as a side guide for the mold clamping cylinder. This arrangement can obviate the need for a separate guide member.
Die-casting machine with energy saving evaluation
The present technology includes a hydraulic die-casting machine with electric motor actuated by an inverter, which provides an energy saving evaluation system with respect to a die-casting machine without inverter. The hydraulic die-casting machine includes an injection assembly provided with an injection piston for pressurizing case metal poured into a die and a hydraulic circuit for actuating the injection piston, a hydraulic pump for feeding the hydraulic circuit through a delivery line, an electric motor for actuating the hydraulic pump and an inverter for actuating the electric motor, and an evaluation system for evaluation of the energy savings provided by the present technology.
DIE LOCKING SYSTEM AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
An exemplary die casting press includes a moveable platen that can be actuated to move toward and away from a fixed platen along tie bars. A fixed die is mounted on the fixed platen and a moveable die is mounted on the moveable platen. A die locking system has a locking post that is attached to and extends from the fixed die and a locking cam that is attached to the moveable die. An actuator moves the locking cam between a locked position and an unlocked position to engage and disengage from the locking post, respectively.
