Magnesium-based thermoelectric conversion material, magnesium-based thermoelectric conversion element, thermoelectric conversion device, and method for manufacturing magnesium-based thermoelectric conversion material

A magnesium-based thermoelectric conversion material includes a first layer formed of Mg.sub.2Si and a second layer formed of Mg.sub.2Si.sub.xSn.sub.1-x (here, x is equal to or greater than 0 and less than 1), in which the first layer and the second layer are directly joined to each other, and within a junction surface with the first layer and in the vicinity of the junction surface, the second layer has a tin concentration transition region in which a tin concentration increases as a distance from the junction surface increases. The junction layer is regarded as a site in which a tin concentration is found to be equal to or lower than a detection limit by the measurement performed using EDX.

Method and apparatus for optimisation of the supports for the additive manufacturing of a component with a recess

A method for obtaining, by additive manufacture, a component including at least one recess, this method including: a step of forming, by additive manufacture, a one-piece blank component, in which the at least one recess contains a support including a core in the form of a block of material and cellular elements that connect the core to the recess; and a step of detaching the support from the rest of the blank component in order to expose the recess.

Sintered friction material

A sintered friction material is formed by pressure sintering mixed powder at 800° C. or above, the mixed powder consisting of, in mass %, Cu and/or Cu alloy: 40.0 to 80.0%, Ni: 0% or more and less than 5.0%, Sn: 0 to 10.0%, Zn: 0 to 10.0%, VC: 0.5 to 5.0%, Fe and/or Fe alloy: 2.0 to 40.0%, lubricant: 5.0 to 30.0%, metal oxide and/or metal nitride: 1.5 to 30.0%, and the balance being impurity.

Nozzle and additive manufacturing apparatus

A nozzle according to one embodiment has an inner surface and an outer surface, and is provided with a first passage through which an energy ray passes, and a second passage that is provided between the inner surface and the outer surface, and through which powder and fluid pass. The second passage includes a second open end on one end thereof in a first direction. A first surface that is one of the inner surface and the outer surface includes a first edge on one end thereof in the first direction. A second surface that is the other one of those includes a second edge on one end thereof in the first direction, and is distanced from the first edge toward the first direction. The fluid ejected from the second open end flows along the second surface, and separates at the second edge.

A powder for dust core used for a dust core includes a plurality of crystal grains, and the powder has at least two maximal values when a number ratio that is a ratio of the number of the crystal grains at each crystal grain diameter to the number of the crystal grains each crystal grain diameter of which has been measured is plotted with respect to each crystal grain diameter of the crystal grains.

LASER TREATMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IN-SITU LASER SHOCK PEENING (LSP) TREATMENT OF PARTS DURING PRODUCTION THEREOF BY A SELECTIVE LASER SINTERING OR MELTING (SLS/SLM) PROCESS, AND ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS AND METHODS IMPLEMENTING THE SAME
20220395906 · 2022-12-15 ·

A laser treatment system and method for imparting beneficial residual stresses into a desired part during production thereof by a Selective Laser Sintering or Melting (SLS/SLM) process, the method including repeatedly subjecting the part to an in-situ Laser Shock Peening (LSP) treatment during the SLS/SLM process. The in-situ LSP treatment includes selectively bringing an LSP module in contact with a surface of the part during the SLS/SLM process, and subjecting the LSP module to the action of a first laser beam to impart beneficial residual stresses into the part. The LSP module is movable between a building chamber where the part is being produced for the purpose of carrying out the in-situ LSP treatment, and a separate storage chamber when the LSP module is not used for the purpose of carrying out the in-situ LSP treatment. The invention is also implementable in a corresponding additive manufacturing system and method.
