WELDABLE ALUMINIUM ALLOYS COMPRISING ZN AS MAIN ALLOYING ELEMENT FOR DIRECT METAL LASER SINTERING
Disclosed are powder mixtures for use in the manufacture of three dimensional objects. In the respective powder mixtures, a first material includes an aluminium alloy or a mixture of elemental precursors thereof, and is in powder form. The second material includes a metal powder of Zr and/or Hf. By the addition of the second material, it is possible to prepare three dimensional objects with high ultimate tensile strength and yield strength by additive manufacturing. Further disclosed are processes for the preparation of corresponding powder mixtures and three dimensional objects, the three dimensional objects themselves, devices for implementing the processes, and uses of the powder mixture.

Disclosed is a spherical powder, and a preparation method therefor including: placing an electrode and a workpiece at two electrodes of a power supply, adjusting a discharging gap between the electrode and workpiece by a motion control system to generate an arc plasma, when arc plasma acts on surfaces of the electrode and workpiece, the surfaces of the electrode and workpiece are melt to form a melting region, at the same time, introducing a fluid medium into the discharging gap, controlling a flow rate of the fluid medium and a relative rotation speed of the electrode or the workpiece, so as to change a working morphology of the arc plasma, such that a tiny explosion is generated in the melting region, crushing and throwing away a material located in the melting region, condensing the crushed molten material in the fluid medium and collecting a condensed fine spherical powder.
Titanium aluminide coating capable of improving high-temperature oxidation resistance of titanium alloy and preparation method thereof
A titanium aluminide (TiAl) coating capable of improving high-temperature oxidation resistance of titanium alloys and a preparation method thereof are provided. The TiAl coating includes α-AlF.sub.3 nanoparticles, and a content of the α-AlF.sub.3 nanoparticles is 5-30 vol. % of the TiAl coating. The preparation method of the TiAl coating includes: using a TiAl alloy target and an α-AlF.sub.3 target as raw materials, and performing magnetron sputtering on a substrate surface to prepare a coating; the magnetron sputtering is double-target co-sputtering, and a substrate temperature during the magnetron sputtering is 150° C., the TiAl alloy target is performed direct current sputtering with a power of 0.5-2 kW, and the α-AlF.sub.3 target is performed radio frequency sputtering with a power of 0.07-0.2 kW. After the coating is obtained by the double-target co-sputtering, the obtained coating is heat-treated at 600-800° C. for 5-20 h to obtain a final coating.
Laser-produced porous surface
The present invention disclosed a method of producing a three-dimensional porous tissue in-growth structure. The method includes the steps of depositing a first layer of metal powder and scanning the first layer of metal powder with a laser beam to form a portion of a plurality of predetermined unit cells. Depositing at least one additional layer of metal powder onto a previous layer and repeating the step of scanning a laser beam for at least one of the additional layers in order to continuing forming the predetermined unit cells. The method further includes continuing the depositing and scanning steps to form a medical implant.

An injection molding composition contains a titanium-based powder containing titanium as a main component and having an average particle diameter of 15 μm or more and 35 μm or less, a ceramic powder containing a ceramic as a main material and having an average particle diameter of 1 nm or more and 100 nm or less, and an organic binder. The ceramic is an oxide-based ceramic containing an oxide as a main component, and a standard free energy of formation of the oxide at 1000° C. may be lower than a standard free energy of formation of titanium oxide at 1000° C.

A method and an apparatus for manufacturing a metallic article involve providing a non-metallic feedstock, for example in the form of an oxide of a desired metal or a mixture of oxides of the components of a desired metal alloy. A manufacturing apparatus has a reduction apparatus for electrochemically reducing the feedstock to a metallic product and a processor for converting the metallic product to a metallic powder. The powder is fed into an additive-manufacturing apparatus for fabricating the metallic article from the metallic powder. At least the reduction apparatus and the processor, and preferably also the additive-manufacturing apparatus, are collocated, or located in the same container, or in the same building, or on the same site.
Titanium-based porous body and method of producing the same
To provide a titanium-based porous body that has high void fraction to ensure gas permeability and water permeability for practical use as an electrode and a filter, has a large specific surface area to ensure conductivity and sufficient reaction sites with a reaction solution or a reaction gas, thus showing excellent reaction efficiency, and contains less contaminants because of no organic substance used. A titanium-based porous body having a specific void fraction and a high specific surface area is obtained by filling an irregular-shaped titanium powder having an average particle size of 10 to 50 μm in a dry system without using any binder or the like into a thickness of 4.0×10.sup.−1 to 1.6 mm, and sintering the irregular-shaped titanium powder at 800 to 1100° C.

Provided are: an alloy member that is excellent in homogeneity of both the alloy composition and microstructure and excellent in shape controllability and includes a high entropy alloy having high mechanical properties and high corrosion resistance, a process for producing the same, and a product including the alloy member. In the present invention, the alloy member having a chemical composition comprising elements of Co, Cr, Fe, Ni, and Ti each in an amount within a range of 5 atomic % or more and 35 atomic % or less and Mo in an amount within a range of more than 0 atomic % and 8 atomic % or less, the reminder consisting of unavoidable impurities, wherein ultrafine grains having an average grain diameter of 100 nm or less are dispersed and precipitated in a parent phase crystal.
