Indexable parting blade with circuitous coolant channels
An indexable parting blade has opposite blade first and second sides, a blade peripheral edge, a central index axis, and at least first, second and third insert pockets located along the blade peripheral edge. The parting blade also has first, second and third coolant channels, each forming a coolant path from a corresponding inlet to a corresponding one of the insert pockets. Each coolant channel includes a rake outlet opening out to a rake side of its corresponding insert pocket and a relief outlet opening out to a relief side of that same insert pocket. The inlet corresponding to a given coolant channel is located further from that coolant channel's insert pocket than at least one of (a) the inlet corresponding to a different coolant channel, and (b) the central index axis.
PARTING BLADE AND TOOL HOLDER THEREFOR
A tool holder including a tool shank and a tool head connected to the tool shank. The tool head comprising an insert seat or a blade pocket. Adjacent to at least a portion of a shank side surface there is a reinforcement portion connecting the shank side surface and the tool head.
Parting blade and grooving and parting-off tool
A parting blade includes an internal cooling agent supply and has two substantially plane-parallel lateral faces and a continuous transversal bore connected to a cooling agent channel that runs parallel to the lateral faces in the interior of the parting blade. In order to provide a parting blade that has no projection on one side, a stopper is provided having two substantially parallel end faces and a circumferential face that connects the end faces. The stopper can be inserted into the transversal bore of the parting blade, thereby sealing the transversal bore relative to at least one lateral face of the parting blade. The stopper terminates without protruding over the sealed lateral face, flush with the lateral face. The stopper has an opening on both the end face and the circumferential face. The openings are connected to one another in the interior of the stopper to connect the cooling agent channel to a cooling agent source.
CUTTING TOOLS AND TOOL HOLDERS FOR PIPE CUTTING FRAMES
Cutting tools and tool holders for pipe cutting frames are disclosed. Example cutting tools include a tool holder and a cutting insert removably securable in the tool holder. Example cutting inserts include: first and second side surfaces; first and second locating surfaces configured to locate the cutting insert in the tool holder between corresponding first and second clamping surfaces of the tool holder, wherein the first locating surface protrudes from the cutting insert with angled locating surfaces extending from the first locating surface to the first and second side surfaces, and the second locating surface comprising an indentation; front end and rear end surfaces; a rake surface, the rake surface and the front end surface forming a cutting edge; and an insert stop surface at a rear of the rake surface, extending from the rake surface to the first locating surface and the angled locating surfaces.
Holder for holding a plate-like member and cutting insert
The present disclosure improves the machining conditions and enhances the quality of machined surfaces, particularly in cutting off and grooving machining when the projection amount of a plate-like member is large. A blade, which is a plate-like member having a polygonal shape and used for cutting machining, includes: a plurality of insert pockets; and recess portions formed by partial cutting corresponding to insert pockets respectively. A holder includes: a holder main portion; and a support portion with which a part of the recess portion formed in the blade contacts. The holder is configured in which the blade can be installed in a state where the part of the recess portion can contact with the support portion.
Clamping member, machine tool, and method for manufacturing machined product
A clamping member in a non-limiting aspect of the present disclosure may have a columnar shape extended from a first end to a second end. The clamping member may include an upper jaw, a lower jaw and a pocket. The upper jaw and the lower jaw may be located away from each other. The pocket may be located between the upper jaw and the lower jaw. The upper jaw may include a first member and a second member. The second member may be located closer to the first end than the first member. Hardness of the first member may be first hardness, and hardness of the second member may be second hardness. The first hardness may be different from the second hardness.
PARTING LATHE TOOL
A parting lathe tool for machining metal is described. This has a clamping seat for receiving a cutting insert and an internal coolant supply system for supplying coolant to a cutting zone. In this case, the coolant supply system comprises at least three coolant outlets. The coolant outlets are fluidically connected to a coolant supply port via at least two separate coolant lines running within the parting lathe tool.
Tool holder with upper and lower jaws defining an insert receiving pocket and cutting tool
A tool holder having a holder body, an opening of the holder body having opposing upper and lower jaws respectively defining upper and lower pocket surfaces of an insert receiving pocket, and a resilience slot extending away from the insert receiving pocket. A first plane intersects the upper and lower pocket surfaces, and an actuating member extends from the upper jaw along a first axis in a downward direction and traverses the resilience slot. The lower jaw includes an access bore, and a locking member occupies the access bore and engages a locking portion of the actuating member. The upper jaw has a top jaw surface facing in an upward direction, and the first axis intersects the top jaw surface. A cutting tool is configured with the tool holder and a cutting insert removably secured in the insert receiving pocket.
PARTING BLADE AND BLADE HOLDER CONFIGURED FOR CONVEYANCE OF PRESSURIZED COOLANT
A cutting tool assembly includes a parting blade and a blade holder for holding same. The cutting tool assembly is configured for conveying pressurized coolant via the holder to a cutting portion of the parting blade. The blade holder includes a deceleration chamber configured for reducing the impact of the pressurized coolant against the parting blade.
Plate member of cutting tool, tool block, clamp member, and cutting tool
A plate member of a cutting tool has two side surfaces being substantially rectangular in shape, a top surface and a bottom surface extending in a direction along a long side of the rectangle, and two end surfaces in a short-side direction. A cutting edge is located on the side of one of the end surfaces. One of the side surfaces is a curved surface bulging outward. The bottom surface has an inclined portion which is inclined with respect to the top surface. The plate member is held by a tool block having a bottom restraining surface which comes into contact with the bottom surface, and is fastened to the tool block by using a clamp member having a top restraining surface which comes into contact with the top surface of the plate member.
