CERAMIC CUTTER MATERIAL WITH A PIEZOELECTRIC EFFECT AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF, AND CUTTING TOOL

A ceramic tool material, in particular with piezoelectric effect and a preparation method thereof, and a cutting tool. The ceramic tool material includes the following raw materials by weight: 30-70 parts of matrix material, 30-70 parts of piezoelectric material, 5-10 parts of binder, and 10-20 parts of reinforcing phase and can be made into cutting tools. The cutting tool has a piezoelectric effect and excellent mechanical properties and can convert the cutting force signal into the charge signal during machining. By collecting charge signals, a cutting force can be measured and ceramic cutting tool condition can be monitored. Cutting force measurement function and high mechanical properties are integrated. A ceramic tool material with piezoelectric effect can measure the cutting force on the premise by meeting the cutting performance requirements.

CEMENTED CARBIDE AND TOOL CONTAINING THE SAME

A cemented carbide including tungsten carbide grains and a binder phase, in which a total content of the tungsten carbide grains and the binder phase in the cemented carbide is no less than 80 vol %, a content of the binder phase in the cemented carbide is no less than 0.1 vol % and no more than 20 vol %, in a histogram showing distribution of orientation differences between adjacent pairs each consisting of two of the tungsten carbide grains adjacent to each other in the cemented carbide, a first peak is present in a class of the orientation differences of no less than 29.5° and less than 30.5°.

CUTTING TOOL

A cutting tool (1) formed of a silicon nitride-based sintered body (2) including a matrix phase (3), a hard phase (4), and a grain boundary phase (10) in which a glass phase (11) and a crystal phase (12) exist. The sintered body (2) contains yttrium in an amount of 5.0 wt % to 15.0 wt % in terms of an oxide, and contains titanium nitride as the hard phase (4) in an amount of 5.0 wt % to 25.0 wt %. In an X-ray diffraction peak, a halo pattern appears at 2θ ranging from 25° to 35° in an internal region of the sintered body (2). A ratio B/A of a maximum peak intensity B to a maximum peak intensity A satisfies 0.11≤B/A≤0.40 . . . Expression (1) in a surface region of the sintered body (2), and satisfies 0.00≤B/A≤0.10 . . . A coated tool in a non-limiting embodiment of the present disclosure includes a base and a coating layer located on the base. The coated tool includes a first surface, a second surface adjacent to the first surface, and a cutting edge located on at least a part of a ridge part of the first surface and the second surface. The coating layer includes an Al.sub.2O.sub.3 layer. If a fracture toughness value of the Al.sub.2O.sub.3 layer is measured on a surface of the coating layer parallel to a surface of the base, the Al.sub.2O.sub.3 layer includes a first region where the fracture toughness value is 5 MPa.Math.m.sup.0.5 or more.

CARBON NITRIDE BASED COMPOSITE CERAMIC TOOL MATERIALS, PREPARATION METHOD AND CUTTING TOOL THEREOF

The cubic boron nitride sintered material is a cubic boron nitride sintered material comprising: cubic boron nitride particles in an amount of 70 vol % or more and less than 100 vol %, and a bonding material, wherein the bonding material includes an aluminum compound, and includes cobalt as a constituent element; the cubic boron nitride sintered material has a first region in which a space between adjacent cubic boron nitride particles is 0.1 nm or more and 10 nm or less; and when the first region is analyzed by using an energy dispersive X-ray analyzer equipped with a transmission electron microscope, the atom % of aluminum in the first region is 0.1 or more.

The coating layer includes a first layer containing Ti(C.sub.x1N.sub.1-x1) and a second layer containing (Ti.sub.1-y1Al.sub.y1)N, particles in the first layer have an average particle size of 5 nm or more and less than 100 nm, 1.0≤I(111)/I(200)≤20.0 in the first layer, the first layer has an average thickness of 5 nm or more and 1.0 μm or less, 0.1≤I(111)/I(200)≤1.0 in the second layer, particles in the second layer have an average particle size of more than 100 nm and 300 nm or less, and the second layer has an average thickness of 5 nm or more and 2.0 μm or less.

Coated cutting tool, and method and system for manufacturing the same by chemical vapor deposition

A coated cutting tool includes a substrate and a hard film on coated on the substrate. The hard film contains a complex nitride of Al and Cr. The hard film includes aggregates of columnar grains grown on the substrate along the thickness of the film. The nitride has an Al content of 60 atom % or more, a Cr content of 10 atom % or more, and a total content of Al and Cr of 90 atom % or more relative to the total amount of metal and metalloid elements. The complex nitride has the highest peak intensity assigned to crystal plane (311) of an fcc structure in X-ray diffractometry. In the hard film, the ratio of an X-ray diffraction intensity of plane (311) to the intensities of the other planes is 1.30 or more. A method and a system are also provided for manufacturing the coated cutting tool by chemical vapor deposition.

Coated tool and cutting tool including same

A coated tool of the present disclosure is provided with a base member and a coating layer located on a surface of the base member. The coating layer includes a TiCNO layer and an Al.sub.2O.sub.3 layer. The Al.sub.2O.sub.3 layer is located in contact with the TiCNO layer at a position farther from the base member than the TiCNO layer is. The TiCNO layer includes a plurality of first protrusions that project toward the Al.sub.2O.sub.3 layer, and a beam that extends in a direction intersecting a direction in which the first protrusions project, to connect the first protrusions. A cutting tool of the present disclosure is provided with: a holder extending from a first end toward a second end and including a pocket on a side of the first end; and the above-described coated tool located in the pocket.
