INDEXABLE PARTING BLADE WITH CIRCUITOUS COOLANT CHANNELS
An indexable parting blade has opposite blade first and second sides, a blade peripheral edge, a central index axis, and at least first, second and third insert pockets located along the blade peripheral edge. The parting blade also has first, second and third coolant channels, each forming a coolant path from a corresponding inlet to a corresponding one of the insert pockets. Each coolant channel includes a rake outlet opening out to a rake side of its corresponding insert pocket and a relief outlet opening out to a relief side of that same insert pocket. The inlet corresponding to a given coolant channel is located further from that coolant channel's insert pocket than at least one of (a) the inlet corresponding to a different coolant channel, and (b) the central index axis.
HOLDER, CUTTING TOOL, AND METHOD OF PRODUCING MACHINED PRODUCT
A holder according to one embodiment has a rod shape and includes a head portion located at a front end side. The head portion includes an upper jaw portion and a lower jaw portion located at a front end, an insert pocket located between the upper jaw portion and the lower jaw portion, a first wall surface located at an upper surface of the upper jaw portion and inclined in an extending manner from one side surface side, a second wall surface located closer to a rear end side than the first wall surface and inclined upward, a concave-shaped third wall surface located closer to the rear end side than the second wall surface, and a fourth wall surface inclined upward as the fourth wall surface extends away from the third wall surface. The third wall surface is concave downward from an upper end of the second wall surface.
PARTING BLADE AND GROOVING AND PARTING-OFF TOOL
A parting blade includes an internal cooling agent supply and has two substantially plane-parallel lateral faces and a continuous transversal bore connected to a cooling agent channel that runs parallel to the lateral faces in the interior of the parting blade. In order to provide a parting blade that has no projection on one side, a stopper is provided having two substantially parallel end faces and a circumferential face that connects the end faces. The stopper can be inserted into the transversal bore of the parting blade, thereby sealing the transversal bore relative to at least one lateral face of the parting blade. The stopper terminates without protruding over the sealed lateral face, flush with the lateral face. The stopper has an opening on both the end face and the circumferential face. The openings are connected to one another in the interior of the stopper to connect the cooling agent channel to a cooling agent source.
Cutting insert, cutting tool and method for manufacturing machined product
An insert may include a main body. The main body may include a first surface, a second surface, a side surface, a first cutting edge and a through hole. The side surface may be located between the first surface and the second surface. The first cutting edge may be located on at least a part of a ridge line where a first side surface of the side surface intersects with a second side surface adjacent to the first side surface. The through hole may open into the first surface. The main body may further include a first concave part located from the first surface to the side surface. The first concave part may be located away from an imaginary straight line connecting the first cutting edge and a center of the through hole in a front view of the first surface.
Blade positioning structure of disposable milling cutter
A blade positioning structure of a disposable milling cutter includes a cutter body and a disposable blade. The cutter body is peripherally provided with a blade seat. By passing a screw through the disposable blade and the blade seat, the disposable blade is locked to the blade seat. The blade seat has a blade seat surface and a sidewall; the blade seat surface has a groove; the disposable blade has a bottom surface provided with a projection corresponding in shape to the groove; and when the disposable blade is locked to the blade seat, the blade seat surface and the groove of the latter lie respectively and tightly against the bottom surface and the projection of the former.
CUTTING TOOL
Tool for machining a workpiece having a cutting insert with at least one cutting edge. Moreover, the tool has a tool holder, which extends along a holder longitudinal axis and has at a workpiece-side end a cutting insert receptacle for receiving the cutting insert, the cutting insert receptacle having an upper clamping finger and a lower clamping jaw. Furthermore, the tool has a wedge-shaped clamping element, which is fastenable in the cutting insert receptacle for wedging the cutting insert in the tool holder. In addition, the tool comprises a fastening element for fastening the clamping element in the cutting insert receptacle and for wedging the cutting insert in the tool holder.
Blade portion for a metal cutting grooving tool
A blade portion for a grooving tool includes opposite first and second surfaces, a blade width thereof being defined as a shortest distance between the first and second surfaces, opposite third and fourth surfaces, and a fifth surface and an opposite blade portion end. The blade width is constant or substantially constant from the fifth surface up to the blade portion end. An insert seat separating the third surface and the fifth surface is arranged to receive an insert having a main cutting edge, an associated rake face, and an associated main clearance surface. The main cutting edge defines an insert width being greater than the blade width. A shortest distance from the fifth surface to the opposite blade portion end is greater than a shortest distance from the third surface to the fourth surface.
Tool system and method for turning
A tool system for machining includes a tool body that has a first end for connecting to a machine tool and a second end having an end face on which a seat for an interchangeable cutting insert is formed. The cutting insert has an underside formed as an abutment surface, a top side formed as a rake face, and an encircling side face formed as a flank, and a cutting edge is formed at a transition from the top side to the encircling side face. The cutting insert is arranged on the seat such that the top side extends perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the tool body and the cutting edge protrudes beyond the outer circumference of the end face of the tool body in a radial direction with respect to the longitudinal axis with two usable cutting corners and cutting-corner portions adjoining the latter on both sides.
Parting blade and tool holder therefor
A tool holder including a tool shank and a tool head connected to the tool shank. The tool head comprising an insert seat or a blade pocket. Adjacent to at least a portion of a shank side surface there is a reinforcement portion connecting the shank side surface and the tool head.
LIGHT-WEIGHT TOOL HOLDER WITH COOLANT CAVITY HAVING VARYING CROSS-SECTIONAL AREA AND CUTTING TOOL
A tool holder includes a coolant cavity opening out to a cavity inlet and outlet openings. The coolant cavity includes a cavity upper surface which extends along a cavity central axis. The cavity upper surface includes a cavity widening surface firstly which decreases in distance from the holder peripheral surface and secondly along which the cavity cross-sectional area increases, both with increasing distance from the cavity inlet opening. The cavity upper surface also includes a cavity narrowing surface, located further from the cavity inlet opening than the cavity widening surface, firstly which increases in distance from the holder peripheral surface and secondly along which the cavity cross-sectional area decreases, with increasing distance from the cavity inlet opening. A cutting tool is provided having a cutting insert releasably attached to the tool holder.
