TOOL AND CUTTING INSERT FOR INTERNAL COOLING, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF
A cutting insert is provided, comprising a top surface, a bottom surface, and side surfaces spanning therebetween, the side surfaces comprising one or more feed-facing side surfaces and one or more radial-facing side surfaces. The top surface is formed with one or more linear grooves, each constituting a chip breaker and being disposed parallel to and adjacent one of the feed-facing side surfaces. The chip breaker is characterized by a constant profile along the entire length of its respective feed-facing surface. Each of the feed-facing side surfaces is disposed at an acute feed-angle with respect to the top surface, and each of the radial-facing side surfaces being disposed at an acute radial-angle with respect to the top surface, the feed-angle being greater than the radial-angle.
Cutting tool and method for manufacturing machined product
A cutting tool may include a holder extended along a central axis from a first end to a second end and including a pocket, and a cutting insert located in the pocket. The holder may further include an upper surface, a lower surface, a first end surface, a first side surface, a recess, a first flow path and a second flow path. The recess opens into the first end surface and the first side surface. The first flow path is located along the central axis. The second flow path is located closer to the upper surface than the recess and connects to the first flow path. An imaginary plane that passes through the central axis and is orthogonal to the lower surface is a reference plane. The pocket opens into the recess and is recessed from the recess toward the reference plane.
Cutting insert having laterally spaced apart, longitudinally extending wedge abutment surfaces, tool holder and cutting tool
A cutting tool used for grooving and turning operations where a cutting insert is releasably securable in a tool holder. The cutting insert includes insert upper and lower surfaces, at least one of which includes an insert engagement arrangement having two converging insert engagement wedge surfaces. The tool holder includes an insert receiving slot having a clamping jaw surface and a base jaw lower surface, at least one of which includes a slot engagement arrangement having two converging slot engagement wedge surfaces. When assembled, the cutting insert is releasably clamped in the insert receiving slot. The at least one insert engagement arrangement abuts the at least one slot engagement arrangement only at the insert engagement wedge surfaces and the slot engagement wedge surfaces.
Turning process method for workpiece and machine tool
A turning process method for processing a step-shaped workpiece includes: feeding a tool in a rotation axis direction and/or a radial direction of a workpiece while rotating the workpiece; using a tool that includes an insert with a main cutting edge having a straight portion and a machine tool having a pivot shaft of the tool in the machine side; processing a peripheral surface of the small diameter portion by turning the pivot shaft so as to have a cutting edge angle of less than 90°, the cutting edge angle having an angle between the straight portion of the main cutting edge and the rotation axis direction; and processing an end surface and a peripheral surface of the large diameter portion by turning the pivot shaft so as to have the cutting edge angle of 90° or more at a front of the large diameter portion.
PARTING-BLADE CLAMP, PARTING-BLADE AND PARTING-BLADE HOLDER
A parting-off tool assembly including a blade holder, a parting-blade and a clamp. The clamp is secured to the blade-holder via a clamp attachment portion being fastened to the blade holder's holder attachment portion. The clamp also includes a clamp portion which abuts a peripheral edge of the parting-blade to secure the parting-blade to a blade-pocket of the blade holder.
Cutting tool holder with improved dampening effect
Cutting tool holders are disclosed that include vibration dampening elements. The vibration dampening elements may extend parallel to a longitudinal plane of the cutting tool holder. The vibration dampening elements allow the cutting tool holders to have a smaller width while still providing higher grooving depth.
PARTING BLADE AND TOOL HOLDER THEREFOR
A tool holder includes a tool shank and a tool head connected to the tool shank. The tool head has a rear surface. An insert seat or a blade pocket is partially formed on both the tool head and the tool shank, and extends rearwardly of the tool head's rear surface. Adjacent to at least a portion of a shank side surface there is a reinforcement portion connecting the shank side surface and the tool head.
METAL CUTTING TOOL COMPRISING A VIBRATION DAMPING MEMBER
A cutting tool for metal cutting includes a tool body having an insert seat and a recess formed therein. The tool body further includes vibration damping means. The vibration damping means have a cantilever member, the cantilever member being adjacent to the recess of the tool body. The cantilever member has a cantilever beam and an end mass, wherein the cantilever member extends between a fixed end and a free end. The fixed end is permanently connected to the tool body. The cantilever beam extends from the fixed end and the end mass extends from the free end.
METHOD FOR TURNING A WORKPIECE WITH A TOOL SYSTEM
A tool system for machining includes a tool body that has a first end for connecting to a machine tool and a second end having an end face on which a seat for an interchangeable cutting insert is formed. The cutting insert has an underside formed as an abutment surface, a top side formed as a rake face, and an encircling side face formed as a flank, and a cutting edge is formed at a transition from the top side to the encircling side face. The cutting insert is arranged on the seat such that the top side extends perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the tool body and the cutting edge protrudes beyond the outer circumference of the end face of the tool body in a radial direction with respect to the longitudinal axis with two usable cutting corners and cutting-corner portions adjoining the latter on both sides.
HOLDER
The present disclosure improves the machining conditions and enhances the quality of machined surfaces, particularly in cutting off and grooving machining when the projection amount of a plate-like member is large. A blade, which is a plate-like member having a polygonal shape and used for cutting machining, includes: a plurality of insert pockets; and recess portions formed by partial cutting corresponding to insert pockets respectively. A holder includes: a holder main portion; and a support portion with which a part of the recess portion formed in the blade contacts. The holder is configured in which the blade can be installed in a state where the part of the recess portion can contact with the support portion.
