Coupling device
A coupling device is for the reversible establishment of a drive connection between a driving unit (13) of a tool turret and a driven unit (46) of a tool receptacle (36) attached to the tool turret and in which a machining tool is able to be received. In a coupling position, a drive shaft (14) of the driving unit (13) is engaged by way of its external toothing (32) with an internal toothing of a driven shaft (44) of the driven unit (46). For a collision-free orientation of the external toothing (32) with respect to the internal toothing, before coupling, an aligning device is used. The orienting device passes through parts of the driven shaft (44) and has a control on one side for the cooperation with the drive shaft (13) and an aligner that is actuable by the control on the other side. The aligner is securable to the tool receptacle.

SHANK AND CUTTING TOOL HAVING THE SHANK
The present invention can realize better cutting performance while suppressing an influence of, for instance, deflection of a head and an increase in a moment acting on a fastening mechanism even when a cutting insert of a long total length is used. A shank of a head replaceable type cutting tool includes: a fastening mechanism that is formed at a leading end part in a longitudinal direction of the shank, and attaches a head; and a recessed part that is formed at the leading end part so as to accommodate a part of a cutting insert held by the head and avoid an interference with the cutting insert. The recessed part may be provided to accommodate a non-use part of the cutting insert held by the head in a state where the head is attached to the leading end part, and avoid an interference with the cutting insert.

TURRET TOOL HOLDER
A turret tool holder includes an engagement means having engaging elements on a turret side and a support base side, a clutch member for transmitting a driving power to a turret drive section, and a moving mechanism. The moving mechanism includes a rotatably supported drive shaft, a first feed screw mechanism and a second feed screw mechanism rotatable in response to the rotational drive of the drive shaft for moving the clutch member and the engagement elements, and a coordination mechanism arranged between the drive shaft and the first feed screw mechanism or the second feed screw mechanism, for moving the engaging elements in response to the rotational drive of the drive shaft, with a feed amount smaller than the feed amount of the clutch member.
Turret tool rest and machine tool
A turret tool rest includes a main shaft, a turret turning shaft, a turret, a joint base, a mill housing connection shaft, and an engagement member. The main shaft rotates a tool. A part of the main shaft is provided in the turret turning shaft. The turret turning shaft has a first coupling hole. The turret is connected to the turret turning shaft via which the turret is rotated. The joint base has a second coupling hole. The mill housing connection shaft is connected to the joint base. The mill housing connection shaft is provided between the main shaft and the turret turning shaft. Each of the mill housing connection shaft, the joint base, the part of the main shaft, and the turret turning shaft are disposed to rotate around a rotation axis of the turret. The engagement member moves in the first coupling hole and the second coupling hole.
TOOL-CHANGING DEVICE, MACHINE TOOL HAVING SUCH A TOOL-CHANGING DEVICE, AND ASSOCIATED METHOD
A tool-changing device which is used on machine tools (18). Here, provision is made to carry out positioning of a tool holder (2) in the working position (6) of the tool holder with the aid of the locking element (7) of the drive device (4) of the tool-changing device (1). An adjusting movement (22) of the locking element (7) into the locking position (9) of the locking element on the tool holder (2) that is required for the use of the tool (3) is used to position the tool holder (2) in the working position (6) thereof, by the adjusting movement (2) of the locking element (7) being converted into a positioning movement (21) of the tool holders (2).
Metal lathe and tooling calibration
Systems and methods for lathe and tooling calibration are disclosed. A sensor is utilized to measure dimensions and operational parameters of one or more components of a lathe, such as a turret, tool stations, and/or a spindle. Tool measurements are received and analyzed along with the measurements from the sensor. The dimensions and operational parameters may be utilized to calibrate movement parameters of one or more components of the lathe. Once calibrated, the lathe may be utilized to tool one or more objects.

TOOL REST FOR MACHINE TOOL
A tool rest for a machine tool, with a plurality of rotary tools and a tool-rotating drive shaft supported rotatably so that its rotation is transmitted to each rotary tool. The tool rest includes: a plurality of input portions fixed to the tool-rotating drive shaft; and engaging portions corresponding to the respective input portions, rotatably supported and adopted to be driven in rotation by the input portions for engaging with engaged portions of each rotary tool to transmit power when a prescribed rotational phase is reached. Adjusting means is provided between a prescribed input portion and the engaging portion, for adjusting the phase of the engaging portion relative to the tool-rotating drive shaft such that the engaging portions and the corresponding engaged portions are engaged simultaneously.
