Cutting insert and indexable insert-type cutting tool
A cutting insert and an indexable insert-type cutting tool includes a cutting edge (6A) formed on each of a pair of side ridge portions of at least one of the side faces, wherein an insert main body (1) is formed in the shape of having front-back inversion symmetry which is 180 rotationally symmetrical with respect to a line of symmetry (N) passing through the center of the side faces; a flank face adjacent to the cutting edge (6A) is formed on the side face in the vicinity of each of the pair of polygonal faces (2); each of the flank faces is formed in the shape of a twisted face; the pair of side ridge portions on which the cutting edge (6A) is formed intersect each other in such a manner that the second corner portion (B) of one side ridge portion protrudes outside the other side ridge portion.
Double-sided cutting insert for drilling tool
A double-sided cutting insert for a drilling tool includes a top side, a bottom side, and at least one side surface interconnecting the top side and the bottom side and forming at least one cutting edge. The top side and the bottom side comprise a different external profile and chip groove geometry and an identical inscribed circle, and each of the top side and the bottom side comprises four indexable cutting edges.
TWO-WAY INDEXABLE V-SHAPED CUTTING INSERT AND TOOL HOLDER THEREOF
A two-way indexable V-shaped cutting insert having first and second rake surfaces located in a front insert surface thereof. First and second relief surfaces respectively connect the first and second rake surfaces to first and second converging insert abutment surfaces, respectively. A first cutting edge is located at an intersection of the first rake surface and the first relief surface. A second cutting edge is located at an intersection of the second rake surface and the second relief surface. A first relief angle is formed between the first relief surface and the first converging insert abutment surface. A second relief angle is formed between the second relief surface and the second converging insert abutment surface. The first and second relief angles are obtuse. In a cutting tool, the two-way indexable V-shaped cutting insert is releasably secured in a tool holder by means of a fastening member.
Replaceable-blade-edge cutting tool and cutting insert
An indexable cutting tool of a lever-lock type applies a clamping force. At a bottom of an insert fixing portion, there is formed a pillar-shaped lever in a state in which one end protrudes from a placement surface of the insert fixing portion. A screw applies a pressing force to the lever between the one end and a portion such that the lever is pressed and inclined with the portion s a fulcrum in the middle of the lever so that the one end applies a clamping force to the cutting insert.
CUTTING TOOL
A cutting tool includes an upper surface, a flank, and a cutting edge formed on an edge between the upper surface and the flank, the cutting tool having a shape extending in a longitudinal direction along a longitudinal reference axis from a base end part to a leading end part, the cutting tool having the cutting edge member at the leading end part, in which the cutting tool is provided with a chip discharge groove that is constituted by a wall surface at least part of which is curved and at least part of which is located at a position higher than the cutting edge, in which the chip discharge groove has a shape extending in a direction different from an axial direction of the longitudinal reference axis.
Tool system
A tool system includes a machine-proximal shank configured to be introduced into a driven tool receptacle and containing a device for transferring a rotating movement to be picked up from the driven tool receptacle. A tool-proximal shank is configured as a tool holder or to have a tool holder releasably connected thereto. A gear mechanism disposed between the machine-proximal shank and the tool-proximal shank is configured to transfer a rotating movement transmitted by the device in a reduced manner to the tool-proximal shank. At least one insert seat configured on the tool holder for receiving an interchangeable cutting insert is provided on an end face of the tool holder extending transversely to a longitudinal axis of the tool holder. A method for machining a workpiece is also provided.
Boring tool and cutting insert
A boring tool has a cutting insert, a holder, and a pressing member. The cutting insert includes a base member and a cutting member. The base member includes a first side surface, a second side surface, a third side surface, and a fourth side surface. The holder includes a front end surface, a rear end surface, and an outer peripheral surface. The holder is provided with a first hole and a second hole. The first hole is opened in the front end surface. The second hole is opened in the outer peripheral surface. The holder includes a stopper. A surface defining the second hole includes a first inner side surface and a second inner side surface. The pressing member is in contact with the fourth side surface in a state in which the pressing member is disposed in the first hole.
STRESS-REDUCING, TORQUE TRANSMISSION DESIGN FOR MODULAR DRILLS
A cutting insert for a modular rotary cutting tool is disclosed. The cutting insert may include a shaft, opposing insert centering surfaces, and convex torque transmission insert drive surfaces.
