CUTTING APPARATUS INCLUDING A VISUAL TENSION INDICATOR MECHANISM
A cutting apparatus and the method of operating same is provided. The apparatus includes a feed tower assembly configured to be attached to an object and a frame base plate movably attached thereto. The frame base plate has a pivotable arm assembly and an arm wheel thereon which accept a cutting member. A visual tension indicator is operably connected to the frame base plate and the arm assembly and configured to indicate an amount of tension applied to the cutting member.
VEHICLE-MOUNTED WIRE SAW FOR CUTTING USED WIND TURBINE BLADES
A method for using a vehicle-mounted wire saw for cutting an object (such as a wind turbine blade) includes coupling a wire saw having a continuous abrasive wire to a vehicle, engaging a wire tension to between about 100 PSI and about 5000 PSI, engaging a speed of an engine of the vehicle to between about 500 RPM and 4000 RPM, and cutting the object with the wire saw.
Cutting apparatus including a liquid spray system
A cutting apparatus and the method of operating same is provided. The apparatus includes a feed tower assembly configured to be attached to an object and a frame assembly movably attached thereto. The frame assembly has arm assemblies thereon which accept a cutting member. A liquid spray system is provided for cooling components of the cutting apparatus.
Cutting apparatus including a wire cutting member
A cutting apparatus and the method of operating same is provided. The apparatus includes a feed tower assembly configured to be attached to an object and a frame assembly movably attached thereto. The frame assembly has arm assemblies thereon which accept a cutting member. At least one arm assembly can be pivoted relative to the other arm assembly and relative to the feed tower assembly. One arm assembly can further be moved relative to the other arm assembly and relative to the feed tower assembly in a vertical direction.
Rope saw
A rope saw for cutting panels to size includes an elongate frame, which includes a support for placing panels to be sawn thereon. Two wheels are attached to the frame for mounting a revolving saw rope, between which extends a longitudinal direction of the frame. An electric motor is attached to the frame for driving one of the two wheels. The electric motor includes a motor shaft, which extends in longitudinal direction of the frame and which is coupled via a flexible shaft to one of the two wheels.
FRAME-MOUNTED WIRE SAW CUTTING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Generally described, the systems and methods disclosed in herein relate to sectioning an object with a frame-mounted wire saw as the step of a method for recycling fiber composite source objects, such as wind turbine blades. The frame-mounted wire saw generally includes a support frame assembly and a pulley system for directing an abrasive wire from a wire saw. A pair of slidable pulleys directs the abrasive wire through the object as the abrasive wire cuts. In some examples, the frame-mounted wire saw includes a mobility system to allow the assembly to travel along the length of the object and position the frame-mounted wire saw for the cut.
A cutting apparatus includes a wire cutting member, a plurality of wheels about which the wire cutting member is at least partially wrapped, a first arm member supporting at least one of the plurality of wheels, and a second arm member supporting at least one of the plurality of wheels. The first arm member and the second arm member may be moveable between a first position, in which the cutting apparatus has a first size, and a second position, in which the cutting apparatus has a second size larger than the first size. A wire saw includes an adjustment member coupled to at least one of a plurality of wheels for moving the at least one of the plurality of wheels to adjust a tension of a wire cutting member. A wire saw includes a visual indicator for indicating an amount of tension applied to a wire cutting member
