Deburring tool for friction stir welding, and related methods
Described are deburring tools useful for deburring a friction stir weld, methods of forming a friction stir weld combined with a deburring step, and assemblies such as electronic device enclosures that include a deburred friction stir weld.
Cold-weld burr removal
A cold-weld burr removal system is disclosed according to various embodiments. The cold-weld burr removal system can include a clamping block having a clamping passage that extends along an alignment axis, and a removal block having a guide passage alignment axis centered about the alignment axis. The removal block can define a burr receiving chamber. The system also can include a cutting head insert having a cutting portion and a cutting passage. The cutting head insert can removably attach to the removal block and the cutting portion can protrude into the burr receiving chamber. The system can include a linear actuator that connects the clamping block to the removal block. The linear actuator can move the removal block in a direction along the alignment axis to increase a separation distance between the clamping block and the removal block when a linear actuation initiator initiates movement of the linear actuator.
Ferrule type wheel deburring device
Disclosed is a ferrule type wheel deburring device, which includes a machine frame, cylinders, motors, clamp units, a brush, guide posts, guide sleeves, etc. According to the ferrule type wheel deburring device, when in use, the size of a lower brush can be automatically adjusted according to the diameter of a wheel, and burrs of all places of a front surface of the wheel can be effectively removed; and meanwhile, the ferrule type wheel deburring device has the characteristics of advanced technology, high degree of automation, high universality and safe and stable performance.
Apparatus and method for discharge and comminution of a chip
In order to minimize the maintenance effort that accompanies discharge and comminution of a chip, an apparatus for discharge and comminution of a chip has a chip guide and a comminution apparatus, to which the chip guide guides the chip along a chip path. The chip guide has a guide channel that circumferentially surrounds the chip path having a channel inlet and a channel outlet, wherein the guide channel has a maintenance opening in addition to the channel inlet and the channel outlet. Furthermore, a method for discharge and comminution of a chip for this purpose services the guide channel by way of the maintenance opening after discharge and comminution of a chip having a predetermined chip length.
Chopper and external weld bead removal system including same
An external weld bead removal system for removing and chopping an external weld bead from a tube includes a weld bead cutting apparatus and a weld bead chopper apparatus for chopping the removed external weld bead. The weld bead cutting apparatus includes a cutting tool operative to cut and remove an external weld bead from a tube. The weld bead chopper apparatus, the weld bead chopper apparatus includes a first blade member, a second blade member mounted adjacent the first blade member, and a chopper actuator operable to forcibly rotate the first blade member about a rotation axis relative to the second blade member such that the first and second blade members cooperatively cut the removed external weld bead into smaller weld bead segments as the removed external weld bead is advanced through the chopper apparatus.
Monolithic precursor test coupons for testing material properties of metal-injection-molded components and methods and apparatuses for making such coupons
A method of removing flash from a gauge portion of a monolithic precursor test coupon using a flash-removal tool is provided. The flash-removal tool comprises a tool body, extending along a longitudinal tool axis, a tooth, and an engagement surface, spaced apart from the tooth along the longitudinal tool axis. The tooth projects from the tool body in a first direction and comprises a shearing surface, facing in the first direction and located an offset distance away from the longitudinal tool axis in a second direction. The method comprises steps of coupling the engagement surface of the flash-removal tool against a first precursor-coupon end of the monolithic precursor test coupon, orienting the longitudinal tool axis parallel to a longitudinal symmetry axis of the monolithic precursor test coupon, wherein the shearing surface registers longitudinally with the flash, and shearing, using the shearing surface, the flash from the gauge portion.
Deburring apparatus with driving means for rotatably and reversibly driving the apparatus to and away of a billet
An apparatus for removing burrs on billets has a supporting element and at least two arms extending from the supporting element. Deburring devices are driven in rotation by burrs of billets. The deburring devices are supported by the arms. The apparatus is driven rotatably and reversibly by a drive between a stand-by position wherein the apparatus is spaced apart from the billet to be deburred and a working position wherein the deburring devices are close to the billet to be deburred and are able to contact a burr.
