Hydraulically Operated Electrochemical Machining Assemblies
An electrochemical machining assembly for boring a passage in an electrically conductive workpiece. The electrochemical machining assembly includes an electrochemical machining tool having a telescoping collar with an articulating head coupled thereto. The telescoping collar is hydraulically actuatable between a contracted configuration and an extended configuration responsive to fluid pressure provided by an electrolyte fluid circulated by the electrochemical machining assembly to advance the telescoping collar stepwise in the passage. The articulating head is tiltable relative to the telescoping collar to determine a direction of the passage. The electrochemical machining assembly is configured to remove material from the workpiece upon application of a voltage between the articulating head and the workpiece via the electrolyte fluid to lengthen the passage.

A wire electrical discharge machine includes: a detection unit configured to detect a contact state in which the wire electrode contacts the workpiece, and a contact release state in which the wire electrode that is in the contact state is separated from the workpiece; a vibration unit configured to, if the contact state is detected during the machining of the workpiece, stop relative movement of the wire electrode and vibrate the wire electrode about a stop position at which the relative movement of the wire electrode has been stopped; and a relative movement control unit configured to resume relative movement of the wire electrode if the contact release state is detected until a predetermined time elapses from when the contact state has been detected or until the number of times that the wire electrode is vibrated reaches a predetermined number of times.

Vibration assisted wire machining device
A vibration assisted wire machining device is provided, the vibration assisted wire machining device allows a metal wire to be driven by a bi-axial sinusoidal vibration source during a wire machining process, wherein the bi-axial sinusoidal waveforms have the same amplitude, and preferably, the bi-axial sinusoidal waveforms are synchronous and always have a vibration phase difference of 90 degrees. Therefore, the present invention can reduce wire breakage risks and improve wire-cutting efficiency, and raise machining stability and material removal rate of a wire-electrical discharge machining (Wire-EDM) process performed on a workpiece, as well as achieve desirable precision of a geometric shape. It also relates to a vibration assisted wire machining device that enables metal wires associated with the abrasive slurry formed of hard abrasive grains, for performing bi-axial vibration assisted abrasive cutting or abrasive grinding on the workpiece.
Machining position correcting device and electrochemical machining device
A machining position correcting device is configured to be applied to an electrochemical machining device configured to make an electrolyte flow out of a distal end part of an electrode bar extending along an axis while rotating the electrode bar about the axis to electrochemically machine a material to be machined in a range from the distal end part of the electrode bar. The machining position correcting device includes a position detector configured to detect a rotational position of a feature point of the electrode bar.
Method for profile machining
A method for profile machining comprises: providing an electrode having an electrode axis, a free axial end with an end face, and a peripheral surface other than the end face; energizing the electrode and a workpiece having a thickness, with one of the workpiece and the electrode as an anode and the other as a cathode; and machining the workpiece with the peripheral surface of the electrode, during which the peripheral surface and the electrode axis of the electrode are across the workpiece in a thickness direction thereof. In addition, an embodiment of present invention relates to a component machined by the method.
Method for profile machining
A method for profile machining comprises: providing an electrode having an electrode axis, a free axial end with an end face, and a peripheral surface other than the end face; energizing the electrode and a workpiece having a thickness, with one of the workpiece and the electrode as an anode and the other as a cathode; and machining the workpiece with the peripheral surface of the electrode, during which the peripheral surface and the electrode axis of the electrode are across the workpiece in a thickness direction thereof. In addition, an embodiment of present invention relates to a component machined by the method.
LOWER GUIDE UNIT OF ELECTRICAL DISCHARGE MACHINE
A compact lower guide unit that allows the electrode guide to be attached and detached more easily and reliably. Provided is a lower guide unit including a housing, an electrode guide, and a pull-up mechanism having a guide support, links, and a power cylinder. The guide support includes a biasing member and a displacement member. The biasing member can bias the displacement member, and the displacement member can be displaced between a restriction position and a release position. The links can be rotated by a force applied by the power cylinder. The electrode guide is fixed to the guide support by a biasing force of the biasing member when the displacement member is in the restriction position, and the electrode guide is released from the lower guide unit when the displacement member is displaced to the release position.
