ARC WELDING METHOD AND ARC WELDING DEVICE
20190270156 · 2019-09-05 ·

An arc welding method alternately generates a short-circuit state and an arc state. In the method, short circuits are generated also in the arc period. This more than doubles the total number of short circuits, which is the sum of the short circuits generated in the short circuit period and those generated in the arc period. This enables a thin plate to be arc welded at a higher speed, while reducing its burn-through.

Method for welding nonferrous metal sheets
10357842 · 2019-07-23 · ·

A method for welding nonferrous metal sheets, particularly thin aluminum sheets, using commercially available welding equipment and procedures resulting in reduced cost and faster welding speed without the need for high clamping force, specialized equipment or training, or specialized sheet surface and edge treatments, involving positioning the edges of the thin nonferrous sheets between heavier nonferrous metal bars or sheets in a manner that allows a weld bead or molten weld pool to be formed that incorporates all three layers of the metal, the posterior welding material member, the thin sheet sandwiched between, and the anterior welding material member forming the sandwich. The anterior and posterior welding material members and the thin sheets then are welded together with the thin sheets captured between them and with the edges forming a weld nugget between the welding material members creating an impermeable airtight seam joining the sheets together.

LAP FILLET ARC WELDING JOINT

The present invention provides a lap fillet arc welding joint including a first metal sheet, a second metal sheet, and a weld bead. A region of the first metal sheet on one end side is bent. In a cross-sectional view in a cross section perpendicular to a weld line of the weld bead, in a first direction, a position of a tip end of the bent region of the first metal sheet overlaps a region of the second metal sheet on one end side. In a second direction, an amount of deviation between a central axis of a region connected to the bent region of the first metal sheet and a central axis of the region of the second metal sheet on one end side is times or less of the average value of sheet thicknesses of the first metal sheet and the second metal sheet. A joint portion length, which is a length from a root portion of the second metal sheet to a weld toe portion of the first metal sheet, is two times or more of the sheet thickness of the second metal sheet. The position of the weld toe portion of the first metal sheet in the second direction is in a range from a first position to a second position.

TIG WELDING DEVICE

Through the present invention, the load of a torch (16) applied to a welding workpiece (W) in a touch start method is reduced, and stability is significantly enhanced. A welding head (10) has a rigid straight-advancing movable part (12), an elevator drive tower (14) for moving the straight-advancing movable part (12) straight forward in the vertical direction, and a torch (16) mounted on the straight-advancing movable part (12) so as to be able to move in the vertical direction. One end part of a balance arm (28) rotatably attached to a multi-purpose support part (22) of the straight-advancing movable part (12) is connected to a torch body (30), and a balance weight (98) is attached to the other end part of the balance arm (28).

Method for manufacturing electrical steel sheet laminated core having reduced core loss and increased strength, and laminated core produced by the same

There are provided a method for manufacturing an electrical steel sheet laminated core having reduced core loss and improved strength, and a laminated core produced by the manufacturing method. The method includes: stacking electrical steel sheets to obtain a lamination; and welding an outer surface of the lamination, wherein during the welding, a welding wire having a resistivity of 6.510.sup.7 m or greater, a relative permeability of less than 1.02, and a melting point lower than that of the electrical steel sheets is used as a welding material.

Aluminium/copper heterogeneous welding

Method of assembling a first thin copper part and a second thin aluminum part, each to be welded using heterogeneous welding, includes placing the ends of the parts so that they face one another and pressing the ends against one another so as to constitute a welding zone extending therebetween; and applying an aluminum alloy by way of filler metal to the welding zone using a low energy welding method in which the electric arc and the meltable filler wire are wider than the combined thickness of the parts, the parts being held so as to maintain the welding zone at the top using a fixing element including at least two rigid blocks of a conductive material whose thickness is between 1 and 2 mm, whose length is greater than that of the parts and whose width is sufficient to hold the parts, and a pressure fixing system.

Method of forming a sealed joint between a tubular article and a sheet article
09989182 · 2018-06-05 · ·

A method of forming a sealed joint between a tubular article (10) and a thin sheet article (14) wherein the articles (10, 14) are made of metallic materials that are capable of fusion welding together. One step in the method involves locating an end of the tubular article in a collar (20) surrounding a hole (12) formed in the thin sheet article (14). An end (22) of the tubular article (14) is positioned to lie substantially flush with a proximal end (24) of the collar (20). Next the ends (22, 24) of the collar and the tubular article are fusion welded forming a circumferential bead (26) creating an integral joint. Consequently in effect the previously separate a tubular article (10) and a thin sheet article (14) become a single piece.

METHOD FOR WELDING FERRITIC STAINLESS STEEL TO CARBON STEEL
20170157692 · 2017-06-08 ·

A method of welding a ferritic stainless steel part to a carbon steel part is described. The method comprises arc welding (e.g. GTAW welding) the ferritic stainless steel part to the carbon steel part using a duplex stainless steel filler metal. Welded article made in this way is useful for industrial electrolyzers and particularly for corrosion resistant cathode and carrier plate assemblies in a sodium chlorate electrolyzer.
