The present invention discloses a method for welding FeAl intermetallic compound microporous material and a welded part made thereby, and the present invention relates to the field of welding technology. For the problem in the prior art that there is great difficulty in welding between FeAl microporous material and dense stainless steel, the method for welding FeAl intermetallic compound microporous material, in accordance with the present invention, comprises the following steps: turning on welding torch fuel-gas of a fusion-welding machine, and turning on welding shielding gas in a shield; adjusting welding parameters of the welding machine and parameter of the welding shielding gas in the shield for a fusion welding process; switching on the welding machine, and using welding wire as welding filler for welding FeAl intermetallic compound microporous material to dense stainless steel; and, cooling after completion of the welding.

A disclosed example submerged arc welding torch includes: a first contact tip configured to transfer weld current and preheating current to the wire; a second contact tip configured to conduct the preheating current to the wire; an air-cooled first conductive body portion configured to receive the weld current and to conduct the weld current and the preheating current to the first contact tip; an air-cooled second conductive body portion configured to receive the preheating current and to conduct the preheating current to the second contact tip; and an insulator coupled between the first and second conductive body portions.

High performance contact tip and nozzle assembly for an arc welding apparatus
A consumable assembly for use in an arc welding apparatus is provided that includes a nozzle assembly having a nozzle body, an insulator disposed within the nozzle body, and a nozzle insert disposed within the insulator. The nozzle insert includes an internal gas diverter. A contact tip is disposed within the nozzle assembly and includes at least one aperture extending from an exterior portion to an internal cavity, an exit orifice, a distal end face, and an exterior surface extending between the at least one aperture and the distal end portion of the contact tip. The internal gas diverter directs a flow of shield gas exiting the at least one aperture along the exterior surface of the contact tip, and a principal distance from the at least one aperture to the distal end face is varied to adjust the flow of the shield gas for improved cooling.
Cartridge for a liquid-cooled plasma arc torch
A liquid-cooled consumable cartridge for a plasma arc torch is provided. The cartridge includes (i) an electrode, (ii) a swirl ring with a first outer retaining feature and a second outer retaining feature on an exterior surface, where the electrode is secured to the swirl ring, and (iii) a nozzle with an inner retaining feature on an interior surface, where the inner retaining feature of the nozzle is mated with the first outer retaining feature of the swirl ring. The cartridge also includes a cartridge frame with an inner retaining feature on an interior surface and an outer retaining feature on an exterior surface. The inner retaining feature of the cartridge frame is mated with the second outer retaining feature of the swirl ring. The cartridge further includes a shield with an inner retaining feature on an interior surface mated with the outer retaining feature of the cartridge frame.
Cartridge for a liquid-cooled plasma arc torch
A consumable cartridge for a liquid-cooled plasma arc torch is provided. The consumable cartridge comprises a cartridge frame including a proximal end having an end surface, a distal end and a body having a central longitudinal axis extending therethrough. The cartridge configured to form a radio-frequency identification (RFID) interface with a torch head. The consumable cartridge also comprises an arc emitter and an arc constrictor affixed to the cartridge frame at the distal end and an RFID mounting feature formed on or in the cartridge frame adjacent to the end face. The RFID mounting feature is non-concentric with the central longitudinal axis of the body. The consumable cartridge further comprises an RFID tag disposed in or on the RFID mounting feature for transmitting information about the cartridge to a reader device in the torch head when the cartridge is connected to the torch head.
AUTOMATED WELDING SYSTEM FOR INTERCHANGEABLE WELDING HEADS
An automated welding system includes a support structure, a plurality of welding heads, and a controller. The plurality of welding heads are each removably, mechanically coupleable to the support structure. The controller is configured to control welding operations of the automated welding system based on an identity of a particular welding head of the plurality of welding heads that is mechanically coupled to the support structure and operably coupled to the controller.
Torch clamp
The invention described herein generally pertains to a system and method related to a semi-automatic or a manual welding operation and utilizing a member or a clamp to removeably secure a torch or a torch cable to a wire feeder. The member can include a first portion that is separated from a second portion, wherein a curved portion is in between the first portion and the second portion. The member can include an opening on the first portion that blocks a path of connect or disconnect with a portion of the torch or the torch cable. Further, the member can include an aperture on the second portion that is used to couple to a portion of the wire feeder with a fastener.

Welding apparatus having a wire pulser and methods thereof
A welding apparatus is provided herein. The apparatus includes a wire source having welding wire, a wire feed drive, and a wire pulser. The wire feed drive drives the welding wire from the wire source. The wire pulser has a first end associated with the wire feed drive and a second end associated with a wire conduit. The wire is fed through the wire conduit to a wire nozzle. The wire pulser increase and decrease the effective length of the wire as the wire moves through the wire conduit from the wire feed drive to the wire nozzle.
