WELDING SPATTER PROTECTION DEVICE WITH INTEGRATED CLEANING SYSTEM
A welding spatter protection device has a support structure, a movable structure delimiting a first internal cavity by internal side walls and movable by a first actuator between a lowered position, in which the first internal cavity is placed astride a welding zone, and a raised position, in which the first internal cavity is moved away from the welding zone, and a cleaning system having a scraper. Two second internal side walls interconnect two first internal side walls defining two concentric cylindrical surfaces. The scraper is connected to the movable structure by a support arm actuatable by a second actuator. Circumferential ends of the concentric cylindrical surfaces at an inlet mouth and at an internal stop position are radially aligned so that the scraper is always in contact with the concentric cylindrical surfaces, oriented so that a radially outermost cylindrical surface extends beyond the bottom wall, defining a shielding appendage.
Welding machine
A welding machine, preferably of the flash butt welding type, designed to facilitate maintenance of the clamping means, e.g. clamps, of the two longitudinal metal products to be welded. Advantageously, a first structure, provided with first clamping means, and a second structure, provided with second clamping means, are supported in a first part of the carriage delimited by a first beam and a second beam of the carriage parallel to the feeding direction, while at least one transformer is fixed to the carriage and supported in a second part of the carriage, arranged laterally outside the first part.
Flash-Butt Welding Vehicle, Systems, and Methods of Using the Same
A single flash-butt welding vehicle performs most if not all operations needed for flash-butt weld repair of a railroad track. Specifically, the flash-butt welding vehicle utilizes primary and secondary integral cranes for moving and manipulating rail and for welding the same. The vehicle further utilizes one or more rail storage areas thereon for loading, transporting, and unloading multiple sizes and lengths of rail. Systems and methods of using the same are further provided.
Automated geometry and crowning apparatus for use of mobile electric flash-butt welding of railroad rails and rail inserts
A Mobile Electric Flash-Butt (EFB) Welding apparatus that incorporates an automated geometry system which creates field/mobile EFB welds with proper vertical alignment, within a definable distance. The system has a first pair of adjustable reference points on a left side of a mobile welding apparatus. The system has a second pair of adjustable reference points on the right side of the welding apparatus. The system has a first lifting mechanism positioned between the first pair of adjustable reference points and a second lifting mechanism positioned between the second pair of adjustable reference points. The welding line is positioned between the first and second pair of adjustable reference points and is the location of the weld. The system allows for comparatively shorter inserts than previously utilized.
