WASH-DURABLE, FLUID ABSORBENT SUBSTRATE WITH ANTIMICROBIAL PROPERTIES AND/OR IMPROVED WASHABILITY, AND HYGIENE PRODUCT SUCH AS REUSABLE SANITARY NAPKIN
The present invention is directed to a substrate, in particular textile material to which one or more antimicrobial and/or hydrophilic and/or stain release agents are adhered. The agent(s) is/are adhered to the substrate in such a manner that they are not released from the textile even if the textile is wetted or washed, so that the textile is reusable. Washability and/or usability of the textile are improved where one or more hydrophilic and/or stain release agents are adhered to the textile. The substrate can be used, e.g., in a reusable sanitary napkin or other hygiene product. The structure of the hygiene product is disclosed, together with a process of attaching the different layers of the hygiene product together by ultrasonic welding. The invention further relates to a method of finishing a substrate by applying and binding antimicrobial and/or hydrophilic and/or stain release agents to the substrate so that the agents are essentially irreversibly adhered to the finished substrate.
DEVICE FOR WELDING ROD-SHAPED ELECTRICAL CONDUCTORS AND SONOTRODE FOR SUCH A DEVICE
The invention relates to a device for welding rod-shaped electrical conductors (28, 29) and to a sonotrode (16) for such a device, comprising a compression space for receiving two connection regions (26, 27) of the conductors (28, 29) to be connected, said connection regions (26, 27) extending in a first axial direction (x-axis), the compression space being defined by a working surface (19) of a sonotrode (16), which transmits ultrasonic vibrations, and a counterface of an anvil at two opposite sides in a second axial direction (z-axis) and by a boundary surface of a slider element, which is displaceable in the second axial direction (z-axis), and a boundary surface of a boundary element on two opposite sides in a third axial direction (y-axis). In a special contact zone (50), which is a section of the working surface (19) of the sonotrode (16) and serves to subject at least one connection region (26, 27) to ultrasonic vibrations, the working surface (19) has a surface configuration that differs from a contact zone (30) formed by the remaining working surface (19).
METHOD FOR CUTTING A RUBBER WEB
The present invention concerns a method of cutting a rubber web by means of ultrasound, in which a sonotrode comes into contact with the rubber web and the rubber web and the sonotrode are moved relative to each other while the sonotrode is excited with an ultrasonic vibration. To provide a method of the kind set forth in the opening part of this specification which allows reliable cutting of a rubber web and at the same time ensures that the wear of the tool and the converter is markedly reduced according to the invention it is proposed that a sonotrode comprising steel, preferably hardened steel, is used.

The energy apparatus can additionally include a translation system coupled to the second energy mechanism and configured to move the second energy mechanism to an end position that allows the second energy mechanism and the first energy mechanism to provide energy to the item while there is no relative motion between the first energy mechanism and the second energy mechanism. Methods of providing energy to an item utilizing an energy apparatus are also disclosed.

A device for establishing a bonding connection, with a bonding head mounted so as to rotate about an axis of rotation, and a transducer (1) mounted on the bonding head. The transducer (1) has a piezo actuator (5) for generating ultrasonic vibration, in particular a natural ultrasonic vibration. Electrodes are (20) provided on the piezo actuator (5) in such a way that the piezo actuator (5) can be excited by an electric field in a field direction (10) transverse to a polarization direction (9) of the piezo actuator, and as a result of the excitation and of the connection of the piezo actuator (5) to the fastening section (6) and to the tool holder (3), the piezo actuator (5) carries out a shearing motion in a shearing plane (18) formed by the polarization direction (9) and by the field direction (10).

The cooling body is held supported in the cooling device in such a manner that the cooling body is reversibly displaceable between an abutting position in which a contact surface of the cooling body abuts on a contact surface of the oscillator assembly and a spaced position in which the contact surface of the cooling body is spaced apart from the contact surface of the oscillator assembly.
