LIQUID COOLED PLASMA ARC TORCH
A plasma arc torch includes a cathode extending along an axis of the torch, a pilot arc conductor, and a nozzle body. A first fluid conduit and second fluid conduit extend parallel to the axis of the torch. A first offset fitting includes a first duct coupled to and in fluid communication with the first fluid conduit, and a second duct in fluid communication with the first duct and outwardly radially offset from the first duct and extending away from the first duct in a proximal direction. A second offset fitting includes a third duct coupled to and in fluid communication with the second fluid conduit, and a fourth duct in fluid communication with the third duct and outwardly radially offset from the third duct and extending away from the third duct in the proximal direction. A spring compression plug electrically connects the pilot arc conductor to the nozzle body.
LASER PROCESSING DEVICE
A laser processing device of the present invention includes a laser radiation unit which is configured to perform laser processing on a workpiece while scanning a work surface from an end portion of the workpiece to form a processing groove of which one end is open at the end portion of the workpiece and the other end is closed; and a nozzle unit which is configured to inject a gas along the surface of the workpiece such that a flow velocity thereof increases from the one end of the processing groove toward the other end.
Method and apparatus for auto-aligning of a process gas jet nozzle and laser machining beam
An adjustment collar for a laser machine tool includes a first actuator between an outer housing and an inner collar, the first actuator operable to move the inner collar with respect to the outer housing in the X-axis and a second actuator between the outer housing and the inner collar, the second actuator operable to move the inner collar with respect to the outer housing in the Y-axis.
GAS SUPPLY DEVICE AND LASER PROCESSING HEAD COMPRISING SAME
A gas supply device for a laser machining head is provided for generating a homogeneous gas flow. The gas supply device includes a gas inlet, a shared volume for superimposing a laser beam and the gas flow, and a gas channel system which, starting from the gas inlet, branches at least twice and connects the gas inlet with several outlet openings at the shared volume. The gas channel system and the outlet openings are configured to provide a substantially homogeneous gas flow to the shared volume.
Welding system and method
A welding system for welding a first elongated element and a second elongated element together by a laser beam that is emitted from a laser welding head after the ideal welding center point of the aligned first and second elongated elements has been positioned at a focal point of the laser beam that is emitted from the laser welding head.
Systems for aspirating thrombus during neurosurgical procedures
An aspiration system includes a pump and a control system in communication with the pump. The control system includes a microcontroller, an antenna configured to receive a signal, and a pump control board in communication with the microcontroller. The antenna is in communication with the microcontroller. Upon receiving the signal, the pump control board operates the pump to create negative pressure according to the signal.
COOLANT SUPPLY SYSTEM FOR LASER PROCESSING HEAD AND METHOD FOR SUPPLYING COOLANT TO LASER PROCESSING HEAD
A coolant supply system includes a coolant tank for accumulating coolant generated by using deionized water, a coolant supply passage for supplying the coolant in the coolant tank to the laser processing head, an electric conductivity meter for measuring an electric conductivity of the coolant to be supplied to the laser processing head, a drainage passage capable of draining the coolant from the coolant tank, an electromagnetic valve provided on the drainage passage, and a controller that controls open/close operations of the electromagnetic valve. The controller turns the electromagnetic valve from a closed state into an open state to drain the coolant in the coolant tank through the drainage passage when a measured value of the electric conductivity meter exceeds over a preset upper limit value.
Laser processing heads with a cross-jet nozzle
A laser machining head includes a focusing optical unit for focusing a laser beam in a direction of a machining zone of a workpiece and includes a cross-jet nozzle for producing a cross flow that passes through the focused laser beam transversely (e.g., at a right angle to) a beam axis of the focused laser beam. The distance of the cross-jet nozzle from the workpiece is less than 20 mm (e.g., between 8 mm and 12 mm). A nozzle body having a bottom opening that faces downward toward the workpiece is provided laterally adjacent to the focused laser beam. A protective gas flows out of the bottom opening, which is arranged below the cross-jet nozzle in order to entrain the protective gas flowing between the nozzle body and the workpiece due to the cross flow of the cross-jet nozzle so that the protective gas flows over the machining zone.
Galvo cooling air bypass to reduce contamination
A system and method of cooling and purging a laser processing system comprising at least one galvo system for directing at least one laser beam to a work piece and a protection window mounting plate comprising at least one protection window secured in a corresponding cavity of the mounting plate where the plate is configured with at least one air flow passageway in the mounting plate for each protection window such that an airflow used to cool each galvo systems is directed through the mounting plate vis the passageway and further directed past the window cavity to purge the cavity, where the purging air flow is then vented or exhausted from the laser system.
