Device for handling a shaft forming a pivoting link between at least two parts
A device for handling a shaft forming a pivoting link between two parts, including a body configured to be inserted into the shaft, and blocked in translation with respect to the shaft along a longitudinal axis in a first direction, a compression nut screwed onto a threaded outer portion of the body along the axis in a second direction opposite the first direction, a bearing member positioned against one of the parts, and a return member configured to be compressed between the compression nut and the bearing member by the screwing of the compression nut and to be decompressed in the second direction under the action of the compression nut. This device allows the shaft of the pivoting link to be handled rapidly, and makes it possible to control the load applied onto the shaft during the handling thereof.
Turbomachine component displacement apparatus and method of use
Various embodiments include a method of displacing a turbomachine component from position in a first slot of a turbomachine spacer disk. The method can include detachably affixing a mounting member of a displacement apparatus to a second slot in the gas turbomachine spacer disk using an attachment device, rotating a displacement arm of the displacement apparatus until the displacement arm contacts the turbomachine component, and displacing the turbomachine component from the position within the first slot by linearly actuating the displacement arm with a linear actuator.
Method and device for removing a sleeve from a bore
A method of removing a metal sleeve from a bore formed in one or more elements is disclosed. The sleeve may be a cold-expanded sleeve secured within the bore by an interference fit. The method includes removing material from the internal surface of the sleeve by a cutter along a line to a depth less than the thickness of the sleeve, and subsequently urging the sleeve from the bore.
IMPELLER REMOVAL TOOL
An impeller removal tool assembly is provided. The assembly can include a central body, a first puller arm, and a second puller arm, each arm pivotably pinned to the central body and mirrored across a central axis from each other. The puller arms can have angled ramp surfaces and a plurality of teeth projecting toward the central axis. The assembly further includes an arm rotator bolt threadably engaged with the central body and having a bearing configured to contact the angled ramp surfaces, where rotation of the arm rotator bolt causes the puller arms to rotate between a first position disengaged from a hub of an impeller, and a second position engaged with the hub of the impeller. A central rod can extend through the arm rotator bolt and translate along the axis with respect to the central body and the arm rotator bolt to interface with a pump shaft.
COMPRESSOR ROTOR DESTACKING APPARATUS AND METHOD
A disassembly tool for a rotor assembly of a gas turbine engine includes a plurality of legs configured for installation into a rotor bore of a rotor of the rotor assembly. Each leg includes one or more keys extending radially inwardly toward a center of the rotor bore. A puck is configured for installation into the rotor bore radially inboard of the plurality of legs. The puck includes a groove receptive of the one or more keys to retain the puck to the plurality of legs.
Apparatus and method for extracting a seized yaw piston from a wind turbine housing
A device and method for removing a seized yaw piston from a wind turbine housing is disclosed. The device features a boring plug with retention screws to secure the piston during operation and mounting plates for attaching the boring motor. The boring motor operates a cutter to remove the piston's core. The rotary motor is manually rotated allowing the cutting wheel to create a separating cut designed to sever a mushroomed ring from the barrel of the yaw piston. A puller tool, equipped with expandable wedge plates and a puller screw, grips the piston barrel through the separating cut. A hydraulic actuator, connected to the puller screw, applies force to extract the piston barrel. A tube spacer ensures proper alignment, and manual tools assist in breaking the mushroomed ring for easy removal.
Axle hub and rotor assembly removal tool
An axle hub and rotor assembly removal tool designed for efficient brake rotor removal from drive axles. The tool is constructed with a main body comprising a rectangular metal plate and transverse plates. The tool also features a threaded rod with continuous threads and a hex nut. A pair of nut and bolt assemblies are used for fastening onto wheel studs of the brake rotor. When placed on the axle hub, the tool's nuts are secured to the studs and are turned clockwise to create a small gap between the axle and the brake rotor. The threaded rod facilitates the brake rotor separation by providing leverage against the axle shaft.
PIN PULLER ASSEMBLY AND METHODS
A pin puller assembly, a column assembly, and methods of assembling and operating a pin puller assembly. The pin puller assembly may be operable to pull a pin from a machine having a frame supporting the pin. The pin puller assembly may generally include a piston-cylinder unit; a pull rod positionable through a piston passage, the second rod end being connectable to the pin to be pulled; a reaction member engageable between the rod and the piston; and a column assembly positionable between the cylinder and the frame, the column assembly including a first column member connectable to the cylinder and having a first length along the axis, and a second column member releasably lockable to the first column member and having a second length along the axis. The reaction member may include a split reaction member assembly.
Multi-purpose puller
A multipurpose puller includes a frame, the frame having at least a pair of pockets parallelly arranged with one another, a chain having a threaded link that are capable of securing the multipurpose puller to a machine part, a linear motion device that is fixed to the frame, the linear motion device being used to rotate a plate containing a bearing and a shaft forward and backward about a pin.
