An application device for joining adhesive-tape sections that includes: a holder assembly having a plurality of holding devices that are movable relative to one another, each holding device configured to hold an adhesive-tape section such that a first main joining surface, a first end joining surface, and a second end joining surface of the adhesive-tape section are exposed; and a plurality of actuators. Further, each of the holding devices is configured for movement between first and second joining configurations. In the first joining configuration, each holding device holds an adhesive-tape section and each of the adhesive-tape sections are spaced apart from one another. In the second joining configuration, each holding device holds an adhesive-tape section wherein the first end joining surface of the adhesive-tape section bears against the second end joining surface of another adhesive-tape section, thus defining a continuous and closed adhesive adhesive-tape web.
Methods for manufacturing a tire mold and displacing the air from the mold into a compression cavity during the tire making process
A tire mold or a tire mold segment can include an air compression cavity, which connects to multiple surface connection slots having dimensions between 10 and 300 microns, which can be suitable for selective removal of air in the mold. The air compression cavity, can be close to the outside ambient, allowing the air escaping the interior of the mold to be compressed, which can assist in preventing the rubber material from leaving the mold pattern surface.
Methods for making functional slots
A liquid-jet-guided laser system can be used to generate functional slots having different depth and sidewall profiles by applying active control of laser beam parameters. Blinds slots can be processed onto a workpiece, such as a tire mold or a turbine vane, for an insertion of a sipe or a sealing element, respectively. Through slots can also be processed onto a workpiece, such as a turbine element for cooling during operation or a semiconductor wafer for singulation purpose. The processing of the workpiece can include a two-step procedure, wherein the first step comprises a pre-cut. The pre-cut cuts a contour outline of a slot onto a workpiece corresponding to an element that is to be inserted into the slot. The second step comprises a removal cut to remove excess workpiece material in between the contour outline. The liquid-jet-guided laser system can employ multiple-wavelength processing of a multiple-material workpiece.

A method and an apparatus for applying sealing profiles to vehicle bodies or parts thereof, includes drawing off the sealing profile from an unwinding unit and rolling the sealing profile onto the vehicle body or the part of the vehicle body along an application line provided for application purposes, by a pressure-exerting roller of an application head. An arrangement of an automatic optical inspection system within the application apparatus provides for direct detection of defects and discontinuities of the sealing profile by the user without any need for markings on the sealing profile wound up on the roll or for data handling between the manufacturer of the sealing profile and the user.

A method for applying a seal to a component includes conveying the component to a removal region while the component is held on a holding element and on a conveyor element. By a first robot, the holding element and the component are removed from the conveyor element, which is in the removal region, and moved to a rotary frame. By the first robot, the holding element and the component are supported on the rotary frame and are disposed in a first region of the rotary frame while the rotary frame is in a first rotational position. The rotary frame is rotated from the first rotational position to a second rotational position. The seal is applied to the component by a second robot while the component is supported on the holding element and on the rotary frame and while the rotary frame is in the second rotational position.
