Encapsulation system for prolonged release of active agents
The present technology generally relates to an encapsulation system for delivery of an active agent, the encapsulation system comprising a matrix of microcapsules, wherein a first portion of microcapsules in the matrix of microcapsules has an average diameter of from about 0.1 microns to about 10 microns; a second portion of the microcapsules has an average diameter of from about 10 microns to about 100 microns; and a third portion of the microcapsules has an average diameter of from about 100 microns to about 500 microns; and wherein the active agent is encapsulated in the microcapsules.
Oil-in-water type emulsion and method for producing oil-in-water type emulsion
An oil-in-water type emulsion is characterized in that a fumed silica particle group in which lower order aggregates are aggregated with each other to form a higher order aggregate by a non-chemical bond forms a network-like surrounding structure including an oil inside the network-like surrounding structure.
Highly crystalline alpha-1,3-glucan
Disclosed herein are compositions comprising insoluble alpha-glucan particles having a high degree of crystallinity and small particle size. For example, the alpha-glucan particles can have a degree of crystallinity of at least about 0.65, and/or an average size of less than a micron. At least 50% of the glycosidic linkages of the insoluble alpha-glucan in the disclosed particles are alpha-1,3 glycosidic linkages. Further disclosed are methods of producing insoluble alpha-glucan particles, as well as their use in various applications and products.
THICKENING SELF-INVERTIBLE INVERSE LATEX COMPRISING, AS AN INVERTING AGENT, SURFACTANT SPECIES OF THE POLYGLYCEROL ESTER FAMILY, AND COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING SAME
Disclosed is a self-invertible inverse latex including, as an inverting agent, surfactant species of the polyglycerol ester family; the use thereof as a thickening and/or emulsifying and/or stabilising agent for a cosmetic, dermopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical topical composition, and cosmetic, dermopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical topical compositions containing same. Also disclosed is a new surfactant composition containing polyglycerol esters.
COMPOSITION FOR ELECTROSPINNING
The invention concerns a composition to be electrospun, which comprises a first compound to be electrospun and an electrospinning promoter, the function of which is to facilitate the electrospinning of the first compound, in particular to establish the electrospinning method in order to obtain regular fibers. A method to prepare the composition is also described, which provides a step of mixing a first compound to be electrospun with an electrospinning promoter.
Topical composition containing antioxidants
Compositions for topical application that effectively deliver antioxidants across the epidermis, dermis, or a combination thereof into cells and/or the bloodstream while concurrently maintaining chemical activity of the antioxidants. In certain aspects, these formulations include emulsions and balms each having a lipophilic carrier and a lipophilic antioxidant solubilized by the lipophilic carrier. Also disclosed herein are methods for making these compositions for topical application.
Malodor Suppression in Brassica Amidoalkyl Containing Cosmetic Compositions
A cosmetic composition is provided including a brassica amidoalkyl compound which emits a malodor, a malodor suppressant which is Hydrogenated Castor Oil/Sebacic Acid Copolymer; and a cosmetically acceptable carrier.
Medical product comprising a bioactive molecule immobilized to nanofibrillar cellulose, and a method for preparing thereof
The present application provides a method for preparing a medical product for covering tissue, the method comprising providing nanofibrillar cellulose, providing a bioactive molecule, and covalently bonding the bioactive molecule to the nanofibrillar cellulose. The present application also provides a medical product for covering tissue comprising a bioactive molecule covalently bound to nanofibrillar cellulose.
