Pharmaceutical compositions comprising nano size droplets of skin whitening agents
The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising mono size droplets of skin whitening agents or salts thereof. In particular, the present invention relates to a stable pharmaceutical composition comprising skin whitening agents or salts thereof along with other pharmaceutically acceptable excipients which possess substantially improved skin whitening effects and also exhibits greater skin permeability. The invention also relates to processes for the preparation of such compositions.
TOPICAL COMPOSITIONS
The present invention relates to a topical composition comprising glycerin, microcrystalline cellulose and/or microcrystalline wax and silica beads having a particle size D.sub.v0 of greater 0.3 m, a D.sub.v100 of less than 35 m, a D.sub.v50 selected in the range of 9 to 15 m and an oil absorption capacity selected in the range of 1.2-2.5 cc/g. Furthermore the invention relates to the use of such beads in combination with microcrystalline cellulose and/or microcrystalline wax to ameliorate the short and long-term sensory properties of a topical composition comprising glycerin.
Personal care and medicinal products incorporating organosulfur groups
Personal care products useful for the maintenance of personal appearance and good health and minor treatments that do not require professional health care, as well as products that provide a combination of anti-microbial, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-aging properties and are suitable for use without a prescription. The products utilize a biomembrane permeable organosulfur compound that can redox cycle between thiol, disulfide, and thiosulfinate forms in response to oxidants and antioxidants inside and outside of cells. Example products include an anti-microbial toothpaste with anti-plaque properties, an anti-inflammatory skin lotion with antioxidant, antimicrobial, and deodorant properties, and an anti-toxin skin lotion with anti-arsenicosis properties.
PHOTO-ACTIVATABLE FORMULATION APPLICATOR
An applicator device includes a photo-active formulation assembly and a photo-dose assembly operably coupled to the photo-active formulation assembly. The photo-active formulation assembly includes a dispenser portion and one or more photo-activatable formulation reservoirs. The photo-active formulation assembly is operable to dispense a photo-activatable formulation from the one or more photo-activatable formulation reservoirs onto one or more regions of a biological surface. The photo-dose assembly includes at least one illuminator oriented to focus electromagnetic energy onto one or more focal regions of a biological surface. The focused electromagnetic energy is of a character and for a duration sufficient to photo-activate the photo-activatable formulation dispensed from the one or more photo-activatable formulation reservoirs.

and water,
where specific limiting conditions are to be observed.
These compositions have excellent foaming ability and are suitable for use in cosmetic products.
Solid Stick Antiperspirant Compositions Having Non-Volatile Silicones
Solid stick antiperspirant compositions include an antiperspirant active, one or more waxes, and a plurality of liquids. The one or more waxes include a polar wax. The plurality of liquids include about 60% or greater, by weight of the plurality of liquids, of a non-volatile silicone. The solid stick antiperspirant composition is substantially or completely free of volatile silicones. Antiperspirant product containing solid stick antiperspirant compositions are also described herein.
PERSONAL CARE COMPOSITION
This disclosure provides a personal care composition including a) a solvent; b) water present in an amount of from 0 to about 5 wt % based on a total weight of the composition; and c) a polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) acetal including the reaction product of i. a copolymer having at least two repeating units wherein a first repeating unit is a vinyl alcohol residue and a second repeating unit is a vinyl acetate residue; and ii. an aldehyde; wherein the PV OH acetal has an acetal content of about 30 mol % or less.
