METHODS FOR FIXING HAIR AND SKIN
20230201632 · 2023-06-29 ·

Compositions, kits, and methods for repairing bonds, for example, disulfide bonds, in hair or on the skin are disclosed. The compositions provide improved conditioning benefit for dry hair or moisturize the skin. The compositions also provide a long lasting moisturized feel and smooth feel to the skin or hair, without feeling greasy. The compositions contain one or more compounds that covalently bind at least two thiol groups in the hair or on the skin. Use of the binding compositions prevents reversion of the repaired bonds to their free thiol state, for at least one week or one month, or more, after a single application of the composition. Improved methods of styling hair, for example permanent hair waving, hair curling, hair coloring or highlighting, and hair straightening, are also provided.

HAIR COMPOSITION

Disclosed is an oral or topical composition comprising a nuclear factor erythroid-2 related factor 2 agonist and a liver X receptor agonist, wherein the amounts of each of the nuclear factor erythroid-2 related factor 2 agonist and the liver X receptor agonist produce a synergistic benefit of hair fibre growth, wherein the oral or topical composition comprises ≦9, preferably ≦8% w/w β-sitosterol, wherein when the oral or topical composition comprises a catechin, the oral or topical composition comprises 0.001 to 90, preferably 0.005 to 70, most preferably 0.01 to 50% w/w catechins, wherein the oral or topical composition excludes pregnenolone, 4, 5-dihydrofuranodiene-6-one, epoxy santamarin, hydroquinone, longistyline, monacolin K, protoanemonin, N-(2,2,2-tri-fluoro-ethyl)-N-[4-(2,2,2-tri-fluoro-1-hydroxy-1-trifluoromethyl-ethyl)-phenyl]-benzenesulfonamide, dihydronepetalactone, iridomyrmecin, and dihydroactinidiolide, wherein when the oral or topical composition comprises guggelsterone and epigallocatechin gallate, the oral or topical composition excludes a guggelsterone to epigallocatechin gallate weight ratio of 1 to 28, and wherein when the oral or topical composition comprises sodium dilauramide glutamide lysine, the oral or topical composition excludes 0.3% w/w sodium dilauramide glutamide lysine.

The present invention features novel cosmetic skin care compositions for improving the appearance of flushed or rosacea-affected skin.

Filaggrin gene expression promoter
09827187 · 2017-11-28 · ·

The present invention provides a novel substance that promotes expression of filaggrin gene involved in improvement of the moisture retention function of skin. The inventors of the present invention found that expression of filaggrin gene fluctuates rhythmically over a roughly 24 hour cycle, screened candidate substances based on the time at which expression reaches a maximum following addition of the candidate substance, and identified zanthoxylum extract, 3-(1′-piperidine)propionic acid, geranium oil, cypress oil, rose oil, galvanum oil, pepper oil, basil oil, methyl-o-toluate, methyl anthranilate and dimethyl anthranilate as filaggrin gene expression promoting agents.

20230172945 · 2023-06-08 ·

An application of a series of compounds in controlling or killing mites. It has been found by comparison that the compounds, when compared with a control group, can reduce the survival time of mites; in particular, taraxerol, diosmetin, and taraxasteryl acetate can significantly shorten the survival time of mites, and can be used for miticide and mite control products (such as drugs, cosmetic products, daily products and so on).
