Cutting Tool And Machining Method
A cutting tool includes: a cutting part including a cutting edge having a linear shape; and a fitted part including a fixed section to which the cutting part is fixed, and a fitted part body to be fitted to a cutting device. The cutting edge is located perpendicularly to a virtual line passing through a central axis of the fitted part body, on a plane that is perpendicular to the central axis of the fitted part body. A center of the cutting edge in its longitudinal direction is located on the virtual line.

Spark out is started when the outer diameter D of the processed object 1 becomes equal to a target value D.sub.i and the absolute value of the rate of change v is greater than a first threshold value that corresponds to the target value D.sub.i.

During grinding the workpieces are arranged with a height offset relative to each other corresponding to at least a quarter of the inclination angle () of the axis of rotation of the regulating wheel with respect to the parallel plane to render the respective bearing angles () of the workpieces on the inclined regulating wheel consistent.

The workpiece conveyance apparatus includes a clamp mechanism including a pair of claw sections that clamps the workpiece, a turning mechanism configured to turn the clamp mechanism in a state of clamping the workpiece, and an X-ray apparatus configured to measure a crystal plane orientation of the workpiece clamped between a spindle pipe sleeve and a tail pipe sleeve of the cylindrical grinding apparatus main body in a state in which a center axis of the workpiece and a rotation axis of the cylindrical grinding apparatus main body coincide and output a correction value for correcting a deviation amount of a crystal axis of the workpiece with respect to the rotation axis of the cylindrical grinding apparatus main body.
