20180243880 · 2018-08-30 ·

A microfiber yarn is provided for cleaning, polishing, and buffing a target surface. A buffing pad for auto detailing is provided that may be attached to a rotary drive tool that has a microfiber buffing surface, where the microfiber is a yarn, as opposed to a weave. Embodiments of the buffing pad operate to clean and polish a substrate such as a vehicle and ideally return the same to the original look and feel in a fast and efficient manner, while providing high quality finishes with less frequent pad changes.

Polishing method, brush-like grinding stone, polishing brush, and linear member aggregate

A brush-like grinding stone (3) in a polishing brush (1) includes a brush holder (6) and a linear member aggregate (7) detachably held in the brush holder (6). The linear member aggregate (7) includes a large number of bundles (51) of the linear members (50) obtained by hardening aggregated yarn of inorganic filaments impregnated with a resin, and a brush holder (70) holding ends of the bundles (51). A linear member holder (70) in the linear member aggregate (7) is detachably attached to each of a plurality of holding holes (68) that is open in one side in an axial line direction L. In a case where any of the linear member aggregates has a failure, such as breakage, only the failed linear member aggregate needs to be replaced. Thus, it is not necessary to discard the entire brush-like grinding stone. Consequently, the polishing cost can be reduced.

The present invention relates to a device for burring a front face of a wheel. The device is composed of a rack, a motor, a guide rail, air cylinders, brushes and the like. A sensor enables the wheel to be positioned on a roller way, a clamping air cylinder drives left rolls and right rolls via synchronous gears and gear racks to clamp the wheel, a servo motor drives the wheel to rotate at relatively low speed under the clamped condition, and the rotation direction of the wheel is opposite to that of the brushes; the air cylinders I enable a dust cover to go down, and the motor drives a gear I and a central brush via a shaft II to rotate at relatively high speed; the gear I drives a gear II and a gear III to rotate simultaneously at slightly slow speed, so as to drive an outer ring brush to also rotate at relatively slow speed; and the air cylinders II drive the central brush and outer ring brush to go down, and burring can be performed once the central brush and outer ring brush contact the front face of the wheel. When in use, the device provided by the present invention can burr the central part and the spoke of the wheel at different rotation speeds, and the problem that the traditional big disc brush has low linear speed at the central position when rotating at fixed angular speed is avoided.

The present invention relates to a wheel brush, which is composed of a base plate, springs, chucks, iron sleeves and bristles. When a bristle unit is to be mounted, the iron sleeve of the bristle unit is placed on the upper side of the base plate, two anti-rotating lugs are made to correspond to two lug slots in the base plate, and the chuck is inserted from the lower side of the base plate; after a gasket is fixed in a counter bore in the lower side of the base plate, a wing nut is continuously pressed upwards, so that the spring is tensioned, and two guiding lugs of a fixing pin come into contact with the bottom ends of guiding slots in the iron sleeve; and after the wing nut is rotated by 90 degrees, the bristle unit can be locked.

FIBER BASED FINISHING TOOLS

A finishing tool for modifying a surface of a part, including: a base, wherein the base is one or more of rotated and translated; and one or more fibers coupled to the base; wherein a base portion of each of the one or more fibers is disposed at a first angle relative to a major axis of the base, wherein the first angle is equal to or between 90 degrees and 90 degrees; and wherein, in operation, an end portion of each of the one or more fibers is disposed at a second angle relative to the major axis of the base, wherein the second angle is approximately 90 degrees or 90 degrees, substantially parallel to the surface of the part. In operation, the base portion and the end portion of each of the one or more fibers is coupled by a continuously curved intermediate portion.

WIRE-SHAPED GRINDING ELEMENT FOR POLISHING BRUSH, AND POLISHING BRUSH

A wire-shaped grinding element (10) is used as a grinding element for a polishing brush. The wire-shaped grinding element (10) includes inorganic filaments and a resin that impregnates the inorganic filaments and is cured. The inorganic filaments contain 80 to 90% by weight of an alumina component and 20 to 10% by weight of a silica component. The crystal structure of the inorganic filaments includes mullite crystals and intermediate lumina. The mullite crystals have an average grain size smaller than 25 nm.

A selectively attachable buffer pad for using as an attachment to a conventional drill to buff or polish surfaces includes an attachment member which defines an elongated, rigid shank which is sized and shaped to be secured in the chuck of a conventional drill, a padded layer defining a planar body with a circular shape which is constructed out of a deformable material, and a buffer layer defining a conventional soft fiber buffing pad. Advantageously, the deformable nature of the padded layer enables selectively attachable buffer pad to transfer rotation from the attachment member to the buffer layer while also providing shock absorption. Thus, a conventional drill which is not otherwise suit for buffing or polishing is configured to accomplish the same through its attachment to the selectively attachable buffer pad.
